I am Nismah from Gaza. I am
living a real tragedy. I got sick during the war due to the lack of food and medicine, pollution, and the many diseases and epidemics. I suffered from the disease for more than 5 months in Deir al-Balah camp. I was living with my elderly mother, my father who was injured in his foot, my brother Ahmed who has Down syndrome, and my young nieces. There is no milk or food for the little ones who live with us. We have no source of income. Our house was bombed and we were displaced several times. I was transferred to Egypt due to internal bleeding in the colon. I have a chronic immune disease. I am now alone here. There is no one with me, no companion. I need many needs for me and my family, for my elderly mother, my brother Ahmed, and my mother in Gaza. Please help me. These were posted to Twitter to celebrate 9/29 (both a 002/009 shipping day and the day the 2001 anime’s finale aired I believe). I believe it’s all official artwork from the 2001 anime. Fun fact that I learned from said tweet, the final episode (in Japan at least) is titled “From Here to Eternity” after a 1950s Hollywood war film (which itself was named after a line from Rudyard Kipling’s poem “Gentleman-Rankers” about British soldiers from the late 19th century). Lots of layers of meaning to unpack, I’m sure 😅 but I haven’t seen the film. The poem does seem appropriate for Cyborg 009 though!
