Save Water
While you & I may complain at the slightest discomfort, these beautiful ladies in the heart of Thar desert, India make several trips to the beri/traditional well during the day & every single day.
They walk on hot sand while the scorching sun shines brightly above their heads. They fill their pitchers with water at the beri & carry the same to their houses. Travelling in groups while chatting helps them overcome these hurdles. In fact the responsibility of fetching water lies with the women of the household.
Traditionally the earthern pitchers were made by potters of the respective village, but these days stainless pitchers are used because of its durability.
Even to cook a simple meal takes loads of effort; fetching water is a task in itself & then cooking on chulha/traditional stove is not an easy job. No wonder even their dance depicts these scenes since they play such a vital role in their lives.
The least that we can do is to take a pledge to save water this summer & thereafter.
This place in Jaisalmer receives the lowest rainfall in Rajasthan. Life is tough, but so are they and nothing can shake their smiling hearts. So, did you smile today?

The Land Of Many Colours
India, the land of many colours - diverse landscape, culture, cuisine, festivals & attire contribute to this.

At The Crossroads Of Life
Well, I somehow find myself standing at a crossroad every other day - indecisive & lost without the internet, roadmap; all alone in a strange land.
Many a times I feel like running back to where I started. Standing there all confused is not easy. It requires courage, determination, faith & lots of positivity to stay focused and move forward in a new direction.
But then that is way better than trudging along the same path year after year complaining & cribbing; for taking that new path or a sudden turn in our lives will teach us to explore, discover, experiment and reach new heights.
Afterall, the best view comes after the hardest climb. Agree?

Jal Mahal in Jaipur, Rajasthan
Jal Mahal/Water Palace is in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur City (capital of Rajasthan), India.
Both the palace as well as the lake surrounding it were renovated by Maharaja/King Jai Singh Il of Amber.
It is a four storeyed structure. Only one storey is visible while the rest of it is submerged under the water.
It offers a gorgeous view of the Nahargarh hills. It has a garden at the top dotted with trees and beautiful flowers.

What Are My Secrets Of Staying In Shape While Travelling?
I have been a traveller since I was a child. While I would enjoy exploring the different regions, landscapes, cuisines, cultures & languages, I had always paid less attention to a healthy lifestyle.
Well after years of suffering, I finally decided to take control of my health. So, here are my discoveries to staying in shape while travelling.
* Wake Up Early
* Exercise Before You Start Your Journey
* Choose Fun Activities On The Go
* Eat Natural Food
* Hydrate Yourself
* Avoid Junk & Sugary Items
* Take The Stairs Whenever Possible
Health Tips From The Expert 👇
I truly feel blessed to have interviewed Sneha Shah, Head Nutritionist & Lifestyle Expert, Luke Coutinho Holistic Healing Systems.
* According to Sneha, we should first do a research about the cuisine of the region we are visiting so that we can pick up healthier food items focussing on seasonal & local food of the region.
* Also, one should go for small, frequent meals instead of large, heavy meals.
* Eating mindfully takes care of the portion size of each meal.
* Advisable to start with a soup or salad without any dressing.
*Any nauseating problem can be tackled by sipping lemon water or munching on citrus fruits.
* Carrying homemade items like granola bars, mixed nuts or jaggery laddus would make sure that we don't make unhealthy food choices.
*We should carry water in stainless bottles.
*Important to maintain a three hour gap between our last meal & sleep.
Healthy Travelling : A dose of discipline, handful of activities, clean eating habits, a calm mind & peaceful sleep are the key ingredients to a healthy, happy & energetic vacation.

The Blue Pottery
The Blue Pottery or the only form of pottery which is not made from clay. Yes, you heard that right. It's a stone based pottery. The name 'Blue Pottery' comes from cobalt blue dye used to colour the pottery.
A traditional craft of Jaipur of Central Asian origin. It is believed to have originated in China and then spread to Turkey & even Netherlands.
The Persian art of blue pottery came to Jaipur from Persia (as the name suggests) & Afganistan. It was brought to India during the Mughal period via Kashmir.
This pottery is made from an Egyptian paste by mixing quartz stone powder, powered glass, multani mitti/Fuller's earth, borax, gum & water.
Beautiful items like tiles, door knobs, pots, vases, plates, lamps are produced. The biggest advantage of this pottery is that it doesn't develop cracks; it is hygienic & is quite suitable for daily use. In recent times more colours like green, turquoise, yellow etc are being used.
In fact I can never get bored of travelling to the Pink City of India over & over again, just to to get a glimpse of those gorgeous blue creations. The colour blue makes me smile every time.

Incredible India
India is believed to be one of the oldest civilizations in the world comprising of rich heritage & culture which is both vast & vivid.
There are so many different religions, food habits, costumes, languages, dance, music, folklore including spectacular landscapes and varied flora & fauna.
