things i did that forced me to be a better artist:
used a reference for everything
thinner line art (you think thats thin? go thinner….)
sketch, then do a cleaner sketch, THEN start finalizing
THUMBNAILS
color research, picking a set palette or light/dark for each work
you like that pose? redo it one more time
USE A DAMN REFERENCE
do not rely on stylization as an excuse for anatomy
draw the goddamn background you coward
just draw the hand- a bad hand is better than a hidden hand
the rule of thirds WORKS
take a considerable break between sketch and lines/paint
know that art takes longer as you get better at it
draw the seams on clothes
stop aiming for accuracy and focus on fluidity and motion, accuracy will come with practice of those two concepts
just…do the chiaroscuro. just DO IT. no excuses it always works
stop making excuses, make yourself an art schedule/set weekly(or daily) art goals and just DO IT.
Norse mythology fails to convey the sense of terror that must have hung over Asgard every time Loki was gone for longer than eight months and three weeks

This is so amazing. It perfectly captures how I imagined Vin and the Mist 💙
Mistborn fanart! Should’ve been done ages ago, but I’ve been sick since August.
Y'all ever sneezed so hard your headphones fall off and there's that weird moment of silence where you're not sure if your sneeze blew out your eardrums or the suspicious silence is just missing headphone music?
tv shows with time travel organizations/bureaus/police/agencies/whatever should have a department with instead of a tech genius eating candy, it’s a harried seamstress or fashion designer who is like
“1450 italy? does it look like I have the time to dye you wool? nO. YOU’RE GOING TO THE 1980s”
and throws shoulder pads at the hapless time agent
You know what I loved most about Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them? Queenie.
I mean the entire movie and all the characters were breathtaking, but Queenie was the one who really struck a chord in my heart. Like here is this beautiful, smart, genuinely sweet Legilimens who is perfectly happy in her life. She is blissfuly satisfied with bringing people coffee and being a supportive sister, and then she falls in love with this kind, honest No-maj who just wants to make people happy with pastries. She justs seems so pure, so good at seeing and appreciating the purity in others, so earnest in making everyone around her feel better.
In a world where the Fantasy genre is getting filled with powerful, angsty, sarcastic little shits, Queenie is a refreshing radiance.
Professional.
Wanted to draw a badass sci-fi gun-toting woman
