Initial sketch concept
Next- How Snufkin got his harmonica
Hey there! Thought we were vacationing? Our artists have been hard at work on the Animaniacs #TakeIslandAnim fan project! Take a peek--or an Island!
I imagine moomin would not only a) learn a new skill just to make Snufkin a new scarf, but also b) break it in to make it more comfortable for him because this boy would never wear something even vaguely new
This is... quite not true.
Let me explain.
Dazai and Chuuya started their "journey" in 15.
They placed their differences aside and worked together in order to survive.
And when Chuuya was drowning in the manga, chapter 101, Dazai talked about those rare, yet existent moments.
They both are two lost souls that distance themselves from people in order to deal with the future pain of losing them.
Dazai doesn't allow himself to be open to the ada and therefore he doesn't allow himself to be "loved", because once it will be all over it will hurt a lot more and it won't be worth it.
Chuuya also distances himself from people, because he knows he will lose them one day like it happened with the Flags.
So they both are two lonely comets.
Funny facts comets travel, in fact, together and as they do begin to disintegrate along the journey, from their core to the outside
They can't be healed, it's too late for them.
But they can have this joint mission of life together until the end, can't they?
Eventually they will cross, who knows.
They do have a lot to lose by being vulnerable to their own emotions, but sometimes they can't just help but-
to allow themselves to feel something more than loss, pain and death.
It's always less painful, enduring a life full of pain, loss and death, when together with an equally broken person.
So, considering the fact that Dazai and Chuuya don't let themselves to be loved.
And that they don't expect anything from no one, because they know kindness is a rare thing to experience...
I made this poorly edited thing.
And because Dazai and Chuuya are Dazai and Chuuya, they break the laws by finding each other.
So I suppose the story repeats itself.
Again.
dazai no one breaks my heart like you do
What do you think could make Tsukasa cry? From the beginning of the series until now, he has never been seen to cry despite what happens to him, so I was curious to know what you think. I hope you read it and have a nice day! :3
Thank you ^^
If you want to know, what would make Tsukasa cry would probably be the moment he receives love.
When he hears Amane say for the first time that he loves him with every word, when he hears that he is important, when he hears that his sacrifices were things that Amane did not want because what he wanted was to be by Tsukasa's side because he loves him.
He will cry when Amane admits that he will protect him, when Amane hears his calls, when Amane is the one who will hug Tsukasa, and not the other way around.
All Tsukasa needs is love, affection, care. He did everything he could for his brother, even before he met the entity. He asked Amane if he loved him, he wanted to feel that love, but what he received was the opposite.
He is so used to no one liking him, to no one caring about him, that it doesn't hurt him anymore.
Tsukasa know this will happen, he himself said that "Amane won't come, even if I call him"
Why won't Amane come?
He also explains "he's never done it before"
Tsukasa is the boy who was abandoned by everyone, including the person he loved the most. People don't usually like him, he always hears and sees looks of fear and contempt from other people. No one has ever asked him how he was, if he needed anything, no one cares about him.
And he knows this, he's sure of it.
One of the reasons he looks for a reason to "stay".
At the moment he was most vulnerable, he talked a little about what happened to him and Amane, that sad and empty look.
And you see that look shine when Hanako finally shows up to save him.
Then, the shine disappears again when Amane says he saved him "because he was there".
Tsukasa had a little hope here, but Hanako killed it again.
You see some of that hurt reflected when Tsukasa calls Amane selfish, when Nene says she loves Hanako and Tsukasa is handcuffed behind him saying "good for you" in the official translation.
When shortly after that Nene says she hates Tsukasa.
Can you see it?
Nothing negative will make Tsukasa cry because he expects it, because he is used to receiving contempt and indifference.
When you expect hate and not love, the tears dry up.
But when love finally comes to him, Tsukasa will overflow, because he has never dealt with it, he would not know how to react.
I can even see him shocked, in disbelief at first.
Like when Nene JUST hugged him.
He reacted that way with just one hug, so imagine how he will react when the person he loves the most finally admits that he loves him deeply?
He sings in search of a place where he can be happy
Tsukasa is neglected even by the fandom.
I understand that he did a lot of wrong things along the way, but let's remember that Tsukasa is that little baby who spent his days fulfilling Amane's wishes to see him happy.
Little Tsukasa became Yorishiro with this troubled personality because of his union with the entity.
The entity greatly influences his behavior, but he chose to stay by her side because the entity was the only one who could fulfill his wish to save his older brother.
The entity was the only one who stood by him when everyone else turned their backs (even though we know that the entity is also just using him).
All Tsukasa needs is love, affection, kindness, and that will be enough to make him cry.
He is a good boy who suffers unfairly for having chosen to save the life of the person he loves the most.
He didn't do it for himself, he never made wishes for himself, he wasn't looking for any ambition, he just wanted to see his brother happy, even if he didn't feel that he was loved by Amane, he didn't care about that, he just wanted Amane's happiness.
The cost of Amane's happiness is Tsukasa's pain.
If you want to see him cry, truly love him.
I was going to write an all-caps post begging you to watch this series, but I feel like it wouldn’t give it any justice, so um, here’s a fucking essay on why you should watch this.
Fandoms react to is a popular "genre" in the Gacha fandom where people make characters from fandoms "react" to edits or scenes of a character’s story. It is very popular in the Gacha fandom.
But this series takes a turn and makes the characters wonder why the fuck they are in a room with a bunch of people watching videos of their personal lives and how the hell they’re going to get out—something that is ignored in EVERY SINGLE GACHA REACT EVER.
The world-building in this series is amazing, and the genuine amount of work put into this just makes it better. Not to mention both the characters and the design for them are incredibly accurate and are just fun to watch as the characters interact with one another in the terrifying situation they’ve been forced into.
And to put it frank, that is really all I can tell you because saying anything else will ruin the experience of really watching this ongoing series for yourself.
And if you’re still having second thoughts on if this is really as good as I said it was, please remember that I wrote an entire essay just to convince people to watch it. So yea, it's that good.
this was my roman empire
bonus:
I find it interesting that Tsukasa reached for Nene without hesitation. It was probably because he needs her to fulfill his goals but I wanna be delusional and say he has a heart and cares for her / people
lol it is very hard to tell with tsukasa!! but he definitely does have a heart it’s just….selective lol.
and i think the fact that it's so hard to tell how tsukasa feels about people makes him and nene such good complements to each other!! nene is so expressive and open, and tsukasa is such a mystery to the audience and especially to amane, the person closest to him. these differences play off of each other beautifully. it's nene's openness and persistence and open-book optimism that gets us so many glimpses into tsukasa's feelings and past and world view and the different attitudes he's capable of embodying and expressing. and i personally think this moment is an example of that!
i think tsukasa catching nene was a very instinctive action he took!! i don't think he gave it any thought:
i loveeee this moment and these two pages like... he makes the decision so quickly that the panel of nene falling doesn't even have time to complete!! tsukasa physically breaks into the panel of nene falling, that's how fast and split second his decision is!! it's such a beautiful use of the space on the page. and tsukasa looks surprised by himself on the next page!! tsukasa is a very calucated person who usually has the upper hand, and in this moment he realizes he has truly given that upper hand and that foresight and that planning up, that he needs to resort to the last resort of calling amane for help. he resorts to what he sees as the impossible!! so i really don't think catching her was just part of the plan. there was definitely an emotional element involved there!!
i also think nene really has a knack for bringing out new sides of tsukasa. she's the reason he revealed that he's called for hanako before with no response!! she challenges him in ways he hasn't been challenged before!! she constantly surprises him and makes things interesting for him. i think she is definitely a very unique relationship in his life, and given all the reactions she gets out of him, i would say he definitely has at least some level of emotional investment in her as a person.
you are right though, that this doesn't necessarily mean he cares about her... but i don't think it's delusional for us to hope that it means something along those lines!! after all, they've spent a lot of time together leading up to this moment, and thanks to time travel, who knows how many interactions they've had that only tsukasa has experienced at this point? there's so much we don't know about tsukasa, constantly!! and i think the way he feels about nene is one of the more confounding mysteries about him.
i think it's very possible he has a soft spot for nene at this point! or at least is developing one. I’d believe it!! after all, if nene falls to her death who will listen to tsukasa talk about amane for four hours straight??
also look at them here:
serious analysis on pause they're best friends here. they are consulting they are looking to each other they are silently communicating!!! where do we go from here!!! nene said :0!!!!! tsukasa said O_O!!!!!
okay back to more text based analysis lol: from a different angle, you could also argue tsukasa's end goal with all of this is extending nene's life, as he's working to grant amane's wish, which, to his knowledge from the conversation in ch91, would be to extend nene's lifespan. so indirectly, but still supposedly his goal in a way!! which is a way to interpret his motivations in this moment as well.
and on the topic of tsukasa's goals, i think they show his heart!! yes, he's got an agenda, but overall his agenda has really just been to grant amane's wish. and it's an agenda he does his best to fulfill, which is a way of showing heart!! he thinks this is how amane can get whatever he wants. so in a way, even if this moment was just about needing nene as a means to an end, the end and the means of getting there are all motivated by his heart!!
but yeah in summary i definitely think there's a lot of depth to this relationship and to this interaction in particular. it haunts me constantly!! i love tsukasa i love nene i love the ways they play off of each other so much!! yes i'm biased because i would steal the moon from the sky for tsukasa and nene, but i really do think she makes him feel a lot!! whether that results in affection for her i think is beautifully complicated and unclear, and i can't wait to see their relationship progress throughout the rest of the manga!!
so i am with you in your delusions anon!! keep the faith!! i certainly will!! <3
