I think we should take more time to appreciate the cruel irony in so many of the bsd backstories, because Asagiri has this way of writing that's not just "oh sad things happened to this character." They're twisted, each in their own special way.

Atsushi: His whole life, he was treated awfully because he had the tiger. And yet, that tiger is what helped him survive that treatment, it's a manifestation of that will to live he grew because of his abuse. It's the source of all his strength and all his pain. The director told him to only hate him, never to hate himself, and yet, all his life, he blamed only himself for his misfortune. The one lesson the director wasn't trying to teach him is what he learned.

Dazai: At the beginning of dark era, Odasaku has one of the healthiest wills to live. And he reaches out to save Dazai from his own darkness, but he can't. But at the end of dark era...it's flipped. Dazai is begging Odasaku to stay, he's reaching out to stop him, he's telling him to find some meaning in life, that things will get better. Mr. "life is meaningless" himself is trying to tell his friend that life has value because he doesn't want him to go. It's right after he told Odasaku how he knows he's destined to lose everything he desires, and then Oda leaves him because he's lost his will to live. And when he dies, he sees himself as a man who failed to become good, to give up killing, yet Dazai sees him as a success story that people can change.

Chuuya: Chuuya's friends betrayed him because they thought he was betraying them by joining the Mafia. And then Chuuya joined the Mafia in order to protect the friends who just betrayed him.

Yosano: She only wanted to save lives. All she wanted was to help people, to heal them, and yet it was that kindness that ended up turning against her. Because by helping them, she also became the source of all their problems and all their pain. She saved their lives so much that all they wanted was to die.

I could go on for longer, but then this post would be very, very long. There's just something about the cruel irony in each of the backstories that make them all feel so tragic.

So I read the junior novelization of BiA and just some thoughts I had…

First of all very interesting to see all the deleted scenes in this book, I know that a lot of BiA media is wildly inconsistent because of late script rewrites (I believe this was the reason but correct me if I’m wrong, I do know however that Joe Dante struggled with retaining his original creative vision).

I really love this one scene that I had never seen or heard before when DJ reminds Daffy that despite his wishes to be a James Bond-like action hero, Daffy’s just a duck while he’s a real man with “opposable thumbs” (weird flex DJ but okay). This prompts Daffy to respond “yeah but can you do this?” hitting himself with a mallet that splits him into tiny daffys who woo-hoo manically and then reform into regular Daffy. Idk just thought that would be visually funny to see animated.

I also LOVE this one silly scene when Daffy sees one of those ridiculous hip-hop t-shirts with him on it and wants to buy it. I feel like that is funnier then the fun but cringey rap scene in space jam 2, and feels more self-aware.

Then there’s these additions the book adds like…“the handsome security guard” like geez I know everyone loves Brendan Fraser but that felt weird to read lol but maybe that’s just me

Also I laughed reading the first lines of the book

Like someone really loved alliteration omg…but even still it sounds so angsty for freaking looney tunes lmao

I was kinda sad it skimmed over little parts I liked in the movie (i.e. subtle baffy moments). I do like that one deleted scene when Bugs and Daffy are making fun of DJ and Kate about being in love, and they are mocking them together. Idk if actual baffy moment but still cute.

Ugh I forgot how much I hate Kate…she’s painfully unfunny in the movie and even more so here. She quite literally vocalizes her thoughts in the most banal way and has zero subtlety. -10/10 character tbh Idk if that’s purposeful since she is supposed to represent the out-of-touch wb exec and is only concerned with 🤑🤑 but…still.

Oh another scene I forgot is when Kate mentions disparagingly that Daffy’s fan base consists of “fat guys in basements” I literally thought of Ferris Wheelhouse—I’m so sorry 😅. I also appreciate the little anecdote that Daffy is still thankful for his small fanbase when he makes sure that Kate counted “Henry too” (I think that was the guys name) I somehow found that actually kind of sweet.

I also thought this line was SUPER interesting and perhaps a tad bit insightful

First of all “trying to sound sincere” for his sake? For Daffy’s sake? Maybe Bugs is so known for his sarcasm that his sincerity is still taken as being ingenuine. If so that’s REALLY interesting to me. Also the fact he practiced that speech? 👀👀 Does this means Bugs typically rehearses everything he says? Kind of like what people with social anxiety do? Has he built up such a image for himself that he feels he has to keep up with that image? OR is this just because admitting he needs Daffy is a hard thing for him to say? Does his pride disallow him from encouraging Daffy so he needs to literally practice saying “I need you” when push comes to shove? Aaah anyway this was really cool to see. Also Daffy not buying it for a minute is also telling. 👀👀

Continuing on that thought, wouldn’t it be really sad if Bugs and Daffy couldn’t grow in their relationship with each other because of this very reason? Bugs could deep down really care about Daffy (which tbh in canon I really think he does) but Daffy will never realize this because of the walls he’s built to protect himself from being mocked or tricked by Bugs. LIKE AAAAHHH

in the chapter 95 what does tsukasa's condition mean here ? I thought that tsukasa was like this because he takes the power of the sixth yourishiro especially since he holding the radio ?

was hanako able to hear or sense yashiro when she know his yourishiro was tsukasa because if you noticed he started the Hakujodai fast when he took her ? What do you think

This scene specifically leads us to think about a betrayal coming from Sakura and Kokujoudai.

Remember that the joudais are spirits of people who did not take human form like the other spirits.

So, technically, there are two spirits with Hanako and two with Tsukasa, and we know that they talk to them.

Sakura was alone with one of Tsukasa's joudais doing something hidden from him.

At that moment, Tsukasa was talking to Hanako and Nene.

The general idea was that Tsukasa went to get Nene to put her in the number six boundary and she removed Sumire's seal.

While Sakura should have gone after Sumire and taken her to the boundary again.

That's why Tsukasa is happy that she did her job, he put Nene there and she put Sumire there, so the idea was that Nene would be forced to remove Sumire's seal because she wouldn't be able to leave the boundary without removing the seal.

Tsukasa even took Hanako with him, so that he wouldn't interfere and take Nene out of the boundary (something he did with Hitodama).

But here's the point of "betrayal"

Sakura placed number six in the boundary without Tsukasa's permission. And she convinced Sumire that she would have to ask number six to destroy her.

It was for Nene to remove Sumire's seal, but since Sakura knew she wouldn't do it, she sent Natsuhiko to capture number six and put him in his boundary.

Meanwhile, she found Sumire and told her that she has to "sacrifice herself". Sakura intentionally planned this without Tsukasa knowing. Her mission was to put Sumire in the boundary and Nene to remove the seal (that's why Tsukasa put Nene there).

Nene was supposed to remove the seal, but Sakura "forced" number six to do it. And Kokujoudai was with her. Sakura reinforcing that Tsukasa doesn't know and can't hear is yet another confirmation. She was telling Nene information that she probably shouldn't have, like the connection between her life and the yorishiros.

Furthermore, she made a point of showing what happens when Nene doesn't remove the yorishiros. She wanted to shock Nene so that at some point she would prefer to remove the seal.

In this case, Tsukasa's.

At some point Tsukasa's seal will be removed, but Hanako doesn't want it, so it's unlikely that he will destroy Tsukasa. And since Sakura wants all the seals to be removed, then Nene will understand that if she doesn't remove Tsukasa's seal, Amane will destroy him, just like Hakubo did with Sumire.

In other words, theoretically, Sakura did all this so that Nene would know what will happen if she doesn't remove Tsukasa's seal.

But she will have to fight Hanako.

Anyway, when Sakura talked about the information and the image of Tsukasa with the radio appeared, it made me imagine that it represents more of his vulnerable side. That's because Tsukasa was awake and waiting for Sakura's return.

She and Natsuhiko apparently plan to betray Tsukasa.

And he knows it.

Tsukasa always knows.

Favorite TLTS episode: Devil Dog.

Here are my reasonings for choosing that episode as my favorite:

1. IT'S MOSTLY BAFFY FANFAIR!

2. Bugs being absolutely dumb as hell and not giving a shit if Taz is a dog or not.

3. Daffy freaking out and being somewhat clingy and terrified for Bugs' life (They're married. Fight me.)

4. The consistent TOUCHING from Daffy

5. The ending tho😖😖😖😖It's too cute!

6. The moment after Bugs comes home and Daffy's trying to convince him not to go in but Bugs insists. I thought he was about to confess that he loved Bugs but nah, Fuckin Warner Bros. Played me. I think i've been queer baited for a second.

But the look Daffy's giving Bugs and Bugs is just done with his shit today. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

7. Is this where Daffy got his green jacket from for the rap segment in Space Jam 2?!?!

Yep, it is. He got it from this episode. HC it still smells like Taz.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the last page’s epilogue and message from the author. I’m still waiting for a new pen. 

I really like the dynamic and punchline of this one. I guess the undervalued mom thing is just universal. The parts where Kunikida calls himself a housekeeper and wonders whether he raised him right always get me. Kyouka holding crab bread is so cute!!! Anyways, thanks to Ce-la translating and for being understanding of me and my… me-ness (a whole lot of them just passing down sage advice to me like that old person in a video game and explaining Japanese nuances). Let’s all also hope I get a mom friend like Kunikida who can take care of me. And enjoy the manga!

one day you wake up and realise how happy gojo was in his death and it fucks with your head so bad. he was content to have died doing what he believed was right, which was believing in his students and their capabilities. he seemed glad that he could finally join suguru in afterlife. the fact that suguru wasn't there to pat him on the back on his way out to battle saddened him, satoru's greatest regret was being left behind by suguru and he wanted to catch up as soon as he could, so he was satisfied with the fact that he did the most he could and that his job here was finally done. he was happy to be able to help even after his death.

gojo wanted to foster strong and intelligent allies who would change the jujutsu society for better, that was all he wished for and he made that happen. gojo died knowing he achieved his life goal, he died knowing it was okay for him to not be there anymore, that he could finally rest without worrying.

what i am trying to say is gojo satoru was probably more happier in his death than he would have ever been alive.

Why is Lu Guang so desperate to save him? Let's analyze!

I think it’s Lu Guang himself who killed Cheng Xiaoshi in the original timeline.

Why do I think that?

Starting off with season 2:

let’s begin with the part where Cheng Xiaoshi is informed by the officer that Lu Guang’s rescue failed, he died.

(now this will be a bit long since i'll be contrasting their personalities, so please bear with me. if you want me to get to the point then skip to part 3)

Cheng Xiaoshi, after breaking down in tears, seemed to have been struck by the same exact idea as that of Lu Guang — to go back in time and save him.

However, the difference between Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi in this case (where the thought processed was awfully similar) is that Cheng Xiaoshi did not execute this plan/idea of his.

I know you’re aware of all what I’m saying right now but hear me out…

isn’t it very odd?

now I’m sure you guys might say/think: “we already know that.” “that’s because they’re so attached to each other!” “Link Click is full of plot twists! So it’s not odd for them to surprise us!” “Lu Guang’s got feelings too y’know?!” “Maybe Lu Guang really just does care.”

Wait. Listen.

I’m not trying to imply that Lu Guang doesn’t have feelings, that he doesn’t have a heart — of course he does, he’s a human. But compared to Cheng Xiaoshi, he’s less emotional.

Cheng Xiaoshi is known to be the more sentimental, sensitive, and selfless one of the two. He usually allows his emotions to control him. He wears his heart on his sleeve. (at least that's what the donghua shows us)

But, somehow, he was able to restrain himself from letting his emotions take over him and dive back in time (all because a glimpse of Lu Guang, reciting the rule, flashed before his eyes)

He, Cheng Xiaoshi, the so very attached to Lu Guang Cheng Xiaoshi, was able to restrain.

And please do keep in mind that the emotions he experienced when he discovered Lu Guang’s death must have been unbelievably strong and unbearable; overwhelming beyond words because it’s like losing a source of happiness in your life.

He must have been so scared because he’s already experienced the horror of being abandoned by the most valuable people in his life such as his very own parents — and I bet he doesn’t wanna re-experience it.

Despite all that, he was able to restrain.

But Lu Guang couldn’t.
