Yesterday’s confirmation of the official Sonic comics being cancelled was a heavy blow to a lot of us. Over 20 years’ worth of storytelling and mythology unique in the Sonic franchise has disappeared with little more than a quiet murmur. Our project isn’t going anywhere, and despite our rocky release schedule I hope we can help somewhat fill the void left in many a fan’s hearts. However, we fans are not the only victims here. While we’ve been desperately waiting for some sort of news regarding the comic’s fate these last six months, the creative team in charge of the comic has been struggling to make ends meet without their main source of income. The cancellation was as abrupt to them as it was to us, probably even more so because we at least had half a year to let the idea sink in. For many years they’ve delivered us quality writing and artwork that made Archie Sonic as enjoyable as it was, and now it’s our time to return the favor. Below you can see the links to several of the Archie team’s Patreon pages (the ones I could find at least, please let us know if we missed any). Make a pledge if you can, or at least help spread the word. No matter how little of an amount you can donate, every bit will help them. The creation of Archie Sonic Online in the first place is proof of what fans are capable of when they band together under a common goal. Now, we need to do the same thing for the sake of the Archie team and their families. We implore you all to do the right thing, not as fellow Archie fans, but as fellow human beings who wish each other the best in life.

Here you go @unclefathersantateddy! It was easy for the most part. The hardest part was trying to compress it under 10mb for this site. I edited it in media encoder and shrunk the target bitrate when it was mp4. file. I had to use a specific site to make the MB even smaller as a gif because media encoder doesn't have the option to decrease the target bitrate when you want to make it into a gif file. Here's the site btw to anyone who has gifs over 10 mb. https://www.freeconvert.com/gif-compressor ETA Here's one with just Gene and Bob's hands now that I realized you probably didn't care about the extra stuff.
I really need a tech nerd to make a gift of the new Bob's Burgers episode where Bob is smushing Gene's face and Gene goes "simple?" PLEASE I will trade you with a drawing in return 🙏
@tacosandtouchtanks Okay, I just wanted to update you that I made a decision a day or two ago but haven't said anything till now. Here's the thing, I decided for my touch tank idea I would do the creatures that could actually appear in a touch tank. This is the best option so Tina can project onto the touch tank creatures in her moment of crisis. So sadly, shrimp is not an option anymore for the touch tank idea. In better news, I now have my cast. Zeke: Sea cucumber (obviously that's not going to change) Tina: Sea urchin (kina specifically) Jimmy Jr.: Starfish (Not required to read this part, I'm just explaining the reasons for my choice through the power of synopsis XD)
While perhaps when Tina was 13 she probably dreamt of herself as a starfish. As she gets older though her anxiety gets to her and now through her narrow perspective, she sees herself as a sea urchin. So say after her break up with Jimmy Jr. She leaves her childhood home to find herself. Along the way, she has given up on finding her soulmate and only goes on casual dates. There's still that idealism inside her but she keeps it hidden through her spines of denial and suppression of her feelings. So while she's not expecting to find her soul mate on the first date, she would still hope to at least find a guy that's worth more than 1 date. She goes to the touch tank to try to relax and reflect on all that led up to now. She starts to hate her own reflection because she hates how she fears intimacy now when that's all she ever wanted. She believes that all her attempts at relationships just ended up hurting someone one way or another. She believes all she ever does is make things worse and that even though she wants intimacy, she'll never be able to truly be accepted by someone. Even now, as she's back in her childhood home, Zeke has been determined to try to start a relationship with her. While she feels an emotional connection with him after years of friendship, even then she keeps him at a distance because she's comfortable with the relationship they have already. Deep down, she also doesn't want to admit the superficial reason why she hasn't given Zeke a chance. She simply wasn't attracted to him physically. She doesn't want what happened with Henry Haber and her to happen to him, Zeke doesn't deserve that. She's scared that emotional connection won't be strong enough to overcome her stupid type preference. After all, her own mother left her fiance for her dad simply because he had a sexy mustache. Who's to say that she wouldn't do the same to Zeke? Just the thought of that kills her. So to her, it's better for her to keep it as just friendship with Zeke even if maybe she might even want to give him a chance. She's just too superficial and it's better if he just realizes she's not worth it and moves to someone who deserves him more than she ever did. She drifts off into an aquatic-themed daydream as she immerses her hands in the water again. As a sea urchin, she tried so many ways to find love in the beautiful starfishes of the world. Unfortunately, even though both creatures have regeneration abilities, none of the starfishes wanted anything to do with her because of how unapproachable she looked and how awkward she acted. In turn, Sea Urchina (I'm just going to use this for sea urchin Tina and do puns for the rest) tries her hardest by consuming as many algae as she can to clean the ocean. Sadly, she would overdo it in the end and the algae she consumed killed a kelp forest. This made her relations with the entire ocean worse when all she wanted to do was help and show she was more than her appearance. So she closes herself off from others, thinking no one would miss her anyway. No one was willing to get close to her because of the spines and how the spines would affect them. She tried so hard to make it work with Starry Jr, but even she eventually grew tired of the two constantly regenerating from each other's attempts at a relationship. She had her sea urchin family to turn to at least. She had adjusted to their spines so she could handle their jabs because she knew it all came from love. Even so, she still longed to be accepted as she was from at least one outside her family. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life thinking all she did was make everything worse for the other fish.
Then along came Zeke U. Cumber. Despite her insecurities telling her, she's better off keeping her distance from other fish so no one gets hurt. Zeke U. Cumber reminds Sea Urchina that while she did destroy the kelp forest, things weren't as bad as they seemed. The aftermath of the kelp forest made it a great space for urchins, sea cucumbers, and even starfish, though none of the starfish will admit it. So even if didn't work out the way Sea Urchina planned, the ocean will still be a better place because she's in it. Sea Urchina will never be able to tell how Zeke U. Cumber is able to make the best out of the worst of situations. He was always making the world a better place, he even let shrimp ride him as well as crabs, polychaete worms, and pearlfish live in his anus just so they can be safe. Zeke U. Cumber had nothing to gain from being so helpful but he did it anyway, he even helped her see that she's not the bane of the ocean's existence. Originally, she dreamed of being seen as someone as wonderful as a starfish despite being a sea urchin. She thought she could never bring anything other than pain to those she wanted to be close to, so she stopped trying. Then along came an optimistic sea cucumber to show her that she's already wonderful on her own and even if the whole ocean doesn't see it that way, she still did her part in helping and making a difference. Tina comes back from her daydream and realizes how much of a fool she's been. For years Zeke has been supporting all his friends, including her for years with nothing in return. He was always there to support his friends but who was there to support him? Even in her own daydream, she used Zeke as a way to pick herself up but never did it for him. She thinks of Zeke's warm smile, how he always makes the best of a situation even if it's crappy. She thinks of how Zeke at times has the energy of a hyper bulldog and how adorable it can be at times. She always had a thing for accents, it wasn't a foreign one but it was still an accent. She has her suspicions that Zeke has been working on his glutes, so maybe... Wait, holy crap! Was she actually attracted to Zeke? Maybe this could actually work and she was overthinking it? She's not 13 anymore so perhaps she can overcome her type preference and find the unique ways that make Zeke attractive after all. I mean she had an emotional connection with Zeke, something that she didn't have with Henry Haber. So maybe it was because of her emotional attraction to Zeke she was able to overcome what she usually liked in a guy. It was more than that though, she was done being selfish. Zeke has never given up on her even when she gave him every reason to do so. She wants to be the one to give back to him. She wants to support him after years of him supporting everyone. She wants to be there to comfort him when the mask came off and he's vulnerable. Even if the thought of messing things up and hurting him scares her. She believes without a doubt that they can overcome it because Zeke is stubborn as a mule and she's never getting rid of him. She runs back to the restaurant to find Zeke and starts giving back. It wasn't going to be easy for her to overcome her lingering anxiety. She knows in the end it will be worth it once she finally lets go and let Zeke into her inner world. It was time for this sea urchin to stop being spineless.
Okay, it's so super clear to me that the sea cucumber is the perfect sea creature to represent Zeke. There's just so much about the sea cucumber that relates to Zeke in hilarious ways. The most important one is that the sea cucumber is that it's a creature that is always helping others but rarely gets anything back. The majority of their relationships are more commensal than symbiotic, they aren't being harmed but they aren't gaining anything either. You can also do the pun Zeke u cumber. It's not the best pun but it's something. XD
My problem is that I don't know which sea creature could represent Tina. I have some candidates but I would really like some input as well because I'm not sure which is the best to choose? Here's the list I have so far. 1. Tuna (for the pun for Tina and an opportunity for Zeke to say "you tuna me on". A redemption for his canned Tina joke and general attitude in "Presto Tina-O" lol) 2. Kina (a New Zealand sea urchin and another Tina pun opportunity and an "I'm kina you" joke ((like I'm keen on you if that wasn't obvious already)), Sea urchins do eat sea cucumbers, but they also are part of the same family as sea cucumbers and starfish so make of that what you will) 3. Hermit Crab (least favorite option. While Saucy the hermit carb is important to Zekina lore, hermit crabs eat sea cucumbers so not a good choice) 4. Shrimp (Nothing pun-worthy, but shrimp does technically have the most symbiotic relationship to sea cucumbers, the shrimp still benefits more though. There's also something poetic you can do with shrimp seeing more colors than other creatures) 5. Sea Cucumber (I mean, I guess Tina probably could see herself as a sea cucumber as well, but this is my second least favorite option because it's boring) So I would appreciate any feedback on which one you like best for Tina. I really want a sea creature that fits Tina for her and Zeke's dynamic. My favorite is between the shrimp and the kina. Let the aquatic themes prevail for these two! XD
Yay!
just let them be happy
dont repost/use without my permissiom
Reblogging because the changeling post is what originally inspired me character design-wise for creating one of my fancharacters with Asperger’s syndrome and I’m just happy I finally found it again.
“If autism isn’t caused by environmental factors and is natural why didn’t we ever see it in the past?”
We did, except it wasn’t called autism it was called “Little Jonathan is a r*tarded halfwit who bangs his head on things and can’t speak so we’re taking him into the middle of the cold dark forest and leaving him there to die.”
The scene that started it all. Baby Steps by @theangrypomeranian is incredible and y'all should really read it before I come to your house and personally read it aloud for you.
You can probably see I tweaked Mr. Zeke's design some. I actually like both of my designs a lot, but this one is more accurate the fic. I'm super happy with how these pieces came out~
For transparency's sake, I'm the anon. Thank you so much! I didn't expect you to do so many. I was basically expecting just Tohru, Kyo, Yuki, Shigure, and Akito if you chose to do it period. You went way above my expectations good job! This is all so awesome and the artifact choices are hilarious. (at least most of them anyway while some make me sad like Kisa's and Momji's) Part of me thinks Tom and Jerry or The Princess Bride (for the ROUS) would have been a good choice for Yuki's artifact as well but Ratatouille is just as good of a choice. While all of the chosen negations are fitting I do have one suggestion for Hatori. Since remember is already an artifact in the UU universe, I have a different suggestion. Since Hatori's partially blind I feel his negation should be unseen. You know the saying, "What is seen can't be unseen"?
Unseen negates people's ability to see things (or in Sean's case originally, just himself). Hatori's interpretation of the negation is him taking away people's ability to see the memories they choose to forget. Therefore, making it an external negation instead of a self-targeting one like Sean's was. After all his power is more like hypnotism, the memories are still there, they just can't see them anymore. This is why characters that chose to forget can't associate with the forgotten much anymore because there's still a chance for unseen to wear off based on people's opinions of the forgotten and their mind subconsciously choosing to see the memories again. Unremember it's still good, I just think unseen fits well with Hatori's partial blindness. Irony and all the jazz.
I’ve said a few times in the past that Undead Unluck was basically if Fruits Basket was a action shonen instead of a slice of life shoujo. Whether if that comparison still holds weight or not, do you think you could give some of the Fruits Basket cast some negation abilities if it’s possible please?
Not all of them of course, just the ones that you feel you can have the easiest time figuring out with. Thank you for taking the time to read this regardless.
Only a small portion of characters actually have something that resembles a power aside from the transformation abilities, so where there isn't a power, I'm going to take inspiration from their personalities, actions or character arcs
Tohru, Unaffected- negates the effects of other Negator abilities that target her
Kyo, Unhuman- negates his own humanity, turning him into a monster; because of his own interpretation of the monster as his true self, he is able to seal it away with his prayer beads, believing them to work as a sort of glamour; though he won't turn into his monster form with the seal, he can still turn into a cat when not in control of his emotions
Yuki, Unaffiliated - negates emotional connections with others; while others may want to form a connection with him, the act of trying to do so will be met with a feeling of emotional distance, as if there is some kind of mental wall preventing the connection from being made; turns into a rat with Artifact Ratatouille
Hatsuharu, Unrestrained - negates his own self-restraint, causing him to act without inhibition; because of his interpretation, this manifests as a split personality rather than a constant state of wonton violence and debauchery; turns into a cow with Artifact Raging Bull [Note: I considered Cowboy Bebop]
Kisa, Untell - negates her ability to communicate with others, resulting in her inability to speak; turns into a tiger with Artifact Life of Pi
Momiji, Unfamiliar- negates Momiji's "family;" the closer a family member is to Momiji, the more distant they will feel, manifesting in his own parents being completely unaware of his existence; the Sohma family is widespread enough that Momiji identifies them more as his community than his family, allowing them to be aware of him; turns into a rabbit with Artifact Watership Down
Hatori, Unremember - negates a target's memories; turns into a sea dragon with Artifact How to Train Your Dragon
Ayame, Unashamed - negates any sense of shame within Ayame, allowing him to act in any way that he pleases without guilt or fear of repercussions; similar to Hatsuharu's Unrestrained, but where Unrestrained forces one to act on impulse and without thought, Unashamed allows one to commit to their actions with absolute conviction; turns into a snake with Artifact Snake Eyes
Rin, Untrusting - negates her ability to trust others; this manifests as immediate disbelief in what others say or claim they will do; can be viewed as an internal-targeting version of Yuki's Unafilliated; turns into a horse with Artifact Secretariat
Hiro, Unkind - negates his own ability to be kind, causing him to be rude or mean to people; because of his youth and lack of understanding of what it means to be truly unkind, Hiro manages not to act explicitly cruel, though maturity runs the risk of corrupting his personality through his interpretation; turns into a sheep with Artifact Shaun the Sheep
Ritsu, Uncalm - negates feelings of calm in Ritsu, causing him to feel constant anxiety, fear and panic; turns into a monkey with Artifact Planet of the Apes
Kureno, Unbound - negates Kureno's bonds; because of his circumstances, this refers specifically to his loyalty to Akito, making him capable of disobeying Akito; turns into a bird with Artifact Chicken Run
Shigure, Undoubt - negates feelings of doubt towards Shigure in others, making them easier to manipulate; Rin's Untrusting makes her immune to this ability; turns into a dog with Artifact Shaggy Dog
Kagura, Unmatched - negates her ability to be matched in combat by increasing her physical strength beyond normal levels; turns into a boar with Artifact Pig in the Big City
Akito, Unquestion - negates any feelings of defiance or disloyalty that a target may have toward Akito under the condition that they are viewed as beneath Akito; in this case, as Akito is the head of the Sohma Family, this applies to all members of the Sohma Family
Hana, Unhidden - negates the ability of others to hide things from Hana, which by her interpretation manifests as the ability to read the waves emanating from a target
Lila Sawyer is from Pleasantville, Iowa. No one can tell me otherwise, except Craig Bartlett himself! XD
I got the idea by looking up this movie and where they filmed it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleasantville_(film) I didn’t see the actual film, but the premise from the trailer sounds like a place Lila would live (at least the fictional version of the city in Iowa portrayed in the film).
https://twitter.com/FarkledAgain More gifts of my fancharacter, Debora from the wonderful Leskuh!
The cute girl in the green/blue shirt is Leskuh’s character, Leah. Edmund belongs to Craig Bartlett/Nickelodeon. Why does Leskuh always have to make older Edmund such a hunk!? XD
Leskuh and I both have a weakness for blonde boys I suppose. XD
I know 2 out of 5 is art you already have seen on my blog, but I just have them there for size comparison. I wish I had enough time to make new models for the two, but I’m a slow artist and I don’t have the winter off until the 21st.
On the plus side, I get to show the other three cuties for everybody. You have preschool age, Debora, before she realized how cruel the world can be to somebody like her. You have depressed, thirteen-year-old Debora awkwardly adjusting to her teen body. Lastly, you have content, mellowed out, adult Debora finally accepting herself and happy with her life.
I hope that you like my design choice for these new ages for Debora. I hope to update this soon maybe.
Edit 1/192020:
I added a new age to the chart. It’s the 10-11 age.
Edit 6/112020:
I added a new age to the chart. It’s the 17-18 age.
