Can I watch a great film knowing the actresses in it were terrorized and mistreated the entire time? Can I watch a football game knowing that the players are getting brain injuries right before my eyes? Can I listen to my favorite albums anymore knowing that the singers were all beating their wives in between studio sessions? Can I eat at the new fancy taco place knowing when the building that used to be there got bulldozed eight families got kicked out of their homes so they could be replaced with condos and a chain restaurant? Can I wear the affordable clothes I bought downtown that were probably assembled in a sweatshop with child labor? Can I eat quinoa? Can I eat this burger? Can I drink this bottled water? Can I buy a car and drive to work because I’m sick of taking an hour each way on the subway? Whose bones do I stand on? Whose bones am I standing on right now?

The Boy and the Beast scenery

If women like an ugly, monstrous male character (like shape of water)they get shamed from being freaky, fucked up, perverse. If women like a hot, badass male character (most vampire romance) they get shit on for being shallow, stupid, and again perverse. Just admit y'all hate women and don't want us to enjoy anything. Why do men get so bothered by things like this?!

Its because women are historically an easy target to preach on and Americans tend to think we as a demographic are perpetual dumb who cannot be trusted to be rational no matter what age, but teenage girls are most frequently targeted. The underlying motivation , like all condescending people out there is power fantasy – of feeling you know better than anyone on something and one is using it to save others with barely any effort into the task . 

It makes them feel better and women also tend to join in to have the same fun. Making an effort to learn better and treat others as equal is not as egotistically rewarding, you see? 

There'll be a moment when you realise you're 27 when yesterday you were just 17; and you wouldn't be able to tell how a decade passed away and your life got divided into before and afters. The fury of youth will subdue and nothing will really change but everything will feel different when you look at old photographs and blurry videos taken on cheap mobile phones. Scents will remind you of childhood and certain friends you don't talk to anymore, hangouts will become reunions and mom's burnt pie will become the best food you ever had. And I know on some days you won't be able to show anything of those 10 years but I hope you remember to breathe, and let go of the knot in your chest. I hope you go out in the sun and live a little, because tomorrow is 37.
