What's happening to AO3 right now?

As you may have noticed already, Archive of Our Own is currently down. This is temporary, but unfortunately.. we now know that this is much deeper than we thought.

AO3 is currently the victim of a DDOS attack orchestrated by "Anonymous Sudan"

Why? Because AO3 is home to thousands of LGBTQIA+ content and lots of NSFW content. They're doing this as an Anti-LGBTQ+ attack. If they're doing this for or from America specifically, we're not sure. But this is what AO3 is facing at this time.

What can we do?

Spread the word. Spread the fucking word. I'll be providing updates to my Tumblr page directly from the r/AO3 subreddit. I know that not everyone here is comfortable using Reddit, so I'm taking the blow for you. I cannot access Twitter though.

And please, whatever you do...

Stop using the Archive of Our Own website at this time.

The moderators, showrunners, and service providers all need to repair the damage done by this group. The amount of data flooding in from people trying to log in will cause more problems. Keep yourselves off of the website.

The top shows Jay in the same outfit, tinkering with a prosethetic arm, pinning it to the surface of the table with his amputated arm and working on the wiring with his right hand. The bottom shows Jay nervously sporting a circular saw as a prosethic which PIXAL, a robot woman, is presenting with a cheerful grin. Text explains that PIXAL and Nya compete to make the weirdest and most threatening prosethetics for Jay and that he is too scared to stop them from doing so.

Text introduces the Jay in the gi as 'Blue' and explains that he is sort of like a ghost but isn't visible to others unless he really tries, but that even then he still looks only like a silhouette. He can't go far from his body.

The Jay in the suit is introduced as 'Walker'. He is noted to have stopped shaving their eyebrow slit and to drink coffee (despite Blue's dislike of it). His nickname, 'Walker', came as a result of the two fighting over who got to be called 'Jay'. Blue chose the name for him as he believes he could do with the reminder that they have a family out there, implying that Walker is Jay's amnesiac body.

A doodled comic of Blue and Walker. First, Walker tells Blue that he thinks he forgot maths and asks for help. Jay replies "Fine, but only so we don't get into trouble".
Next, Blue is shown to be solving a mathematical integration question mentally before having a suddenly realisation.
Finally, Blue is shown yelling at Walker that maths is non-declarative memory - Walker hadn't forgotten it and was lying to get out of doing maths, as implied by his smug grin as he holds a videogame controller.

A digital doodle of Blue and Walker showing Walker receiving praise from The Administrator while Blue hovers over them. Text paired with Blue's expression explains that he is suspicious of The Administrator but won't tell Walker out of fear of endangering him and their body. Walker meanwhile is smiling and noted to be ecstatic about the praise he is receiving.
