I’ve had these two in my head for a bit. I must confess their relationship in the show is something that has intrigued me like no other and is something I seek in the fandom. In my time in consuming media, specifically cartoons, you often see unhealthy or abusive relationships. It’s fairly common now. But Belos and Hunter will always be the most visceral to me.
Hunter seeking comfort in Belos will always be the best angst. Hunter is my favorite character but in a way so is Belos. I have a love hate relationship with that hag.

They and their arcs are directly related to the plot and their relationship is important for it
They have so many things in common and actually are so like, yet look opposite
They parallel each other
They look amazing with each other and their color palette is opposite which makes it look good
They parallels a lot of popular ships and canon couplea
They both hate Belos and have common goals
They both like history, glyphs and wild magic
They both don't have magical powers
They both love Flapjack and Luz got with him as good as if he was hers

They had the best development in the show
They had to go throught a lot of things together, just the two of them
They were a great team even when they were enemies
They never hurt each other and even when they were enemies they didn't want the other one to have problems
Luz looks at Hunter as if he's partner, not Amity
Hunter did let Luz go with palismans in HP knowing Belos would punish him
Luz was the first person who cared about Hunter and who saw real him, not just the Golden guard and was his first friend
They immidiatly got along with each other and found common vibes and dynamic
They're the most healthy example of enemies to lovers
Their personalities work together perfectly
Their relationship is one of the best-written things in the show and basically everyone loves their relationship
