I can't believe they went back to the cracked mirror universe and didn't check on Rev, last seen in NASH BODY, or on actual Nash, whose soul they yeeted back without any idea of the consequences.
I understand that 'Yefreitor' is a modifier added to a rank when you refuse a promotion. And that 'Detective' works basically the same way (except that the way you acquire it is kess clear). But I'm still unsure about satellite-officer. Is it a modifier ? Because no one is calling Jean anything else. We know that you become Satellite-officer if your partner is promoted and 'you rise with him'. But does it replace your actual rank? Are all Satellite-officer equals? MacLaine is also a Satellite-officer, but his partner is a sergeant, so does Jean outrank him even though their titles are EXACTLY THE SAME? How do people know?
And if it is a modifier if another rank, why not say the rank like they do with Yefreitor? Like Lieutenant-Satellite.
It's just such a weird rank to have. Have they been promoted but they have to keep the Satellite designation to remember where they come from? You can be a Lieutenant[normal], a Lieutenant [Yefreitor][complimentory] or a Lieutenant [Satellite][derogatory] ? How do you get rid of the modifier that says 'you're not that good but this other guy is, so... ' ?If you change partner, are you demoted? To a rank below? To the last rank that you held on your own?
Incredibly confusing hierarchical system.
“‘Sam Vimes once arrested me for treason,’ said Vetinari calmly. ‘And Sam Vimes once arrested a dragon. Sam Vimes stopped a war between nations by arresting two high commands. He’s an arresting fellow, Sam Vimes. Sam Vimes killed a werewolf with his bare hands, and carries law with him like a lamp.’”

I hadn't played Disco Elysium when I first read this so re-reading it now feels like bonus content.
Since I can't edit polls to retroactively link parts together, here's a masterpost of them all, updated as it happens.
Vote to solve a thrilling mystery of assassination and intrigue, or at least to eventually discover if the body in front of you is actually dead or not, that bit has been taking us a while.

The idea of Heaven and Hell keeping an eye on the Catholic church in a tail-wagging-the-dog kind of situation because they have to somewhat conform to it believes is hilarious to me. Doubly so if Aziraphale is the one informing Heaven of current Church cano, and it has to go through several steps of misunderstanding and creative reporting.
Is there anything like purgatory in good omens?
Thanks :)
I don't think so. By the time Purgatory became Catholic doctrine in 1274 Heaven and Hell already had everything set up the way they liked it and neither of them were prepared to take on the extra work of running a third place.
i appreciate that everyone is having a good time w the stabbing memes but every year im a bit like
My latest cartoon for New Scientist.
I’m afraid I’ve changed my mind about sleep. I don’t think it’s such a terrible thing. In fact, I think we could do with a little more of it. And I’m not so sure I’m willing to be a sacrifice after all. Because in the soft and silent space between death and dreaming, I have glimpsed a better gospel, and I have witnessed the birth of a superior god. And in a thousand tongues I whisper its glad hosanna: sleep. You’ve done enough. Your work is done. Sleep. Never wake. Sleep.
