Thrawn appreciation post.
I miss Thranto. I miss the way Thrawn drives Eli crazy. I miss Eli's loyalty to Thrawn. I miss Thrawn's trust in Eli. I miss the way they were fated to meet. To understand each other when no one else did.
I think it's time to restart the Thrawn 2017 audiobook.

eli vanto, the man that you are
Ar'alani: How many kids do you have?
Thrawn: Biologically, emotionally, or legally?
According to this tweet by Mac, the Star Wars Timelines book(which I forgot I preordered for at Christmastime <3) confirms Thrawn and Eli met in 14 BBY. It's a year later then how I processed the timeline, but that works. There was wiggle room.
They couldn't have moved it back any further without screwing up the Tarkin novel as Thrawn refers to Tarkin as Grand Moff during his days aboard the Bloodcrow so fairly early on and that was set 14 BBY. Edit: to clarify, Tarkin was elevated from moff to grand moff in the Tarkin novel so that scene has to take place after the end of the Tarkin novel. I knew he spent a few years in exile but 4 seems like a lot.
The main thing it means is that Azadi was removed as governor way longer after the Bridgers were captured, I'm noticing as I scroll through my timeline notes. Which makes sense. He had the abilities to hide stuff longer than they did.
Those were my main two sticking points in the canon timeline, oddly enough.
Also if they're saying 14 bby for meet and 11 bby to get the chimaera, when Eli himself says they've been together "nearly four years" they definitely got the chimaera at the end of the year and met in early 14 BBY. Cause my year previous timeline had them getting the Chimaera early 11 BBY.
Now I need to reread for timeline again. But I feel like Eli starting the Academy in 18 BBY makes a bit more sense, it gives the Vantos a bit of time to scope out the Empire and decide to go that route AND it fixes my awkward problem of in my headcanon Kallus graduates the same year cause now they're a year below him and Kallus is definitely part of the first graduating class because his university is kinda taken over by Royal Imperial and all the non human professors were killed.
But Thrawn is still born 57 BBY :<
May the 4th be with You: A Poem for Star Wars Day
Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you’re helpfully like “oh yeah don’t drink the tap water, it’s got stuff in it that makes you sick” and then your neighbor you’ve had forever goes “oh they took the stuff out actually” and you’re like “what? when was this?”
“like two years ago”
“you mean i could’ve been drinking the tap water all this time?”
“yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don’t have to dig through the communal bin anymore”
“are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know”
and the new tennant is like “why did you guys even live here if it was so bad”
“we like it.”
“I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho”
James Arnold Taylor discusses Obi-Wan Kenobi’s ability to resist the Dark Side… And somehow manages to make it so funny we can hardly keep it together 😂😂 I’ve been working on the edit for this episode and all I can say is it’s absolutely delightful!! Interviewing James was a dream come true and I think it shows in the final product. I can’t wait to share it with you. The episode drops Tuesday, May 9 on all major podcast players. The full video edit will be available to our Jedi Masters tier on Patreon. May the Force be with you, my friends 💜
