What if I took the badly written lesbian and made her my own. what then.
This is definitelyyy something I feel vulnerable by sharing because I feel really guilty for asking for help like this, but - this is extremely life-changing news for me, let alone *what it is*, which is my top surgery.
I wrote a very sappy very candid explanation in the link itself, where donations are open too.
If you donated a lot of money, that'd change my life. If you donated a penny, it'd change my life. if you reblogged this post, it'd change my life. you don't know how much it would mean to me if you helped me. so thank u<33
So this whole AU is based on the idea of the butterfly effect. One small detail can change the whole story.
What would have happened if the students had more time to solidify relationships before Monokuma started with the motives?
Hopeâs Peak was relatively peaceful until that first motive was released, and even then Sayaka only acted on it due to fear and desperation. I think that of Monokuma had waited like a week to present the motive videos, Sayaka would have had a deeper and more genuine connection with the other students, and she wouldnât have tried to frame Makoto.
So basically, the game starts out exactly the same, except thereâs more time for the students to mingle and get somewhat used to life in the school. Makoto has a couple of rough patches with people (*cough* Byakuya and Mondo *cough*) but overall everyoneâs been getting along. Monokuma presents the first motive, and Sayaka has her breakdown. This time, however, itâs not just Makoto who goes to comfort her. Most of the students are trying to cheer her up and support her.
A couple of nights later, Sayaka comes pounding on Makotoâs door, telling her story about someone trying to break into her room. Sheâs extremely close to convincing Makoto, but she loses her nerve at the last second and breaks. She tells Makoto everything and, because Makoto is like Jesus or something, he forgives her immediately. Sayaka goes back to her room, and spends her night jamming out with Leon like she had promised.
Time passes. No one else tries anything due to the risk being too high, and positive feelings about their classmates as a whole. Taka and Mondo start on their Gay Shitâą, now with the added bonus of Makoto not being traumatized and also participating in Gay Shitâą with them. Mondo and Chihiro are also getting along really well.
Second motive is introduced, and Taka immediately decides to share his secret with the class so that the Mastermind canât use it against them. Spurred on by this decision, Mondo follows his example. Soon everyoneâs sat down with each other, revealing their secrets and talking through them one by one. Group Therapy ensues.
Time passes, and Monokuma is getting really sick of this Found Family shit so he tries again. This time the motive is money. Hereâs how this one goes down:
Monokuma: Whoever kills another student and gets away with it gets 10,000,00$ how about that?
Everyone: âŠ
Everyone: Anyways-
Celeste ponders it for a minute, but at this point sheâs too close with Chihiro to really consider it, so she painstakingly letâs it go. (Outing myself as a CelesHiro shipper because the aesthetics are just too good)
At this point Junko - the real one not Mukuro because Junko was chosen as the Mastermind for shock value and I do not approve - decides she has been away from her sewing machine for long enough and starts working on projects for all of her classmates. This means MAKEOVERS because I said so.
Last ditch effort, Monokuma reveals that Sakura is the traitor because she hasnât killed anybody yet. Sakuraâs like: âIâm really sorry but like he has my family so I didnât really have a choice. Heâll probably kill me soon, but Iâm not gonna kill any of you.â Kyoko and Makoto immediately decide that this isnât acceptable, and decide to try and put an end to the killing game.
Big ass investigation takes place and the students enter their first Class Trial, everyone is still alive. Things happen and the Mastermind is revealed to be Jin Kirigiri because he wouldâve made so much more sense than Junko, and if a single persona asks me to elaborate I will.
Everyone makes it out alive, and this tremendous victory is shown to be a beacon of Hope to the rest of the world. The Future Foundation is established, with far more power behind it this time, and Hopeâs Peak is turned into a proper sanctuary for people who havenât yet fallen into despair.
Bing Bang Boom everybodyâs alive and the world is healing youâre welcome everybody.
Yes please write more about Mic and Aizawa being foils to one another! I enjoy reading your in-depth posts!
OH BOY
okay, letâs talk a little about foil character in writing. foil characters are characters who commonly display opposite traits to another character they are closely tied with. itâs a common misconception that foil characters are always the rival to the character they foil and that they have to be opposite in every wayâneither of these are true. itâs actually fairly common for a foil character to be set up as the characterâs best friend and contrast only the traits the author wants to highlight in that character. i like talking about foil characters a lot because i feel as though they are very good in narratives when written correctly.Â
like i said in that one ask, mic and aizawa read like foils to each other to me. or more, mic is a foil to aizawa, since aizawa is far more of a main character than he is.Â
letâs start hereâthere was a post going around about how hizashi and aizawaâs hero names are pretty much opposites of each other, with erasing something being the opposite of presenting something and a headphone being the opposite of a microphone. thatâs a good place to start, because those names are:
1. something that defines them, their careers, an who they are as people
2. fundamental to their relationship and their interconnectedness as characters, given that mic gave aizawa the hero name that heâs kept for 15 years and counting and the name that he operates his entire career under. mic essentially gave him part of his identity, and the name itself is pretty much the opposite of micâs.
going a bit further, aizawa is characterized as not caring about appearances, introverted, and relying far more on technique than words when fighting/acting. mic is the opposite in every way, with his characterization being primarily very extroverted, obviously putting care in his appearance (i will never forgive him for That Hair), spending most of his career in the public eye, and literally using words to speak. mic is characterized as a person who pretty much never stops talking, while aizawa is much quieter and seems to pick and choose more when to speak. similarly, mic is much more visible about his emotions, whereas i think aizawa would rather die than admit he actually has feelings. mic is always moving, whereas aizawa relies a lot on stealth and being still. mic has neverending energy, aizawa can often be seen in the background asleep or just generally very lethargic. i could go on, but you get the point here for the most part.Â
also, their designs are opposite of each other, too. i realize that both mic and aizawa wear all black, but you cannot tell me that the thing that sticks out with micâs design isnât his hair. it is literally the first thing people notice. the fucking cockatoo hair. and itâs bright fucking yellow. the closest to the opposite of black you can get without going for white. because of this, people assign bright yellow and bright colors as micâs coloring, whereas with aizawa, everything is just black. dude literally does not wear any color (unless you count his goggles, in which case, bright yellow. literally the same color as mic.). going a step forward, mic obviously puts care into his appearance and has that weird 80âČs aesthetic where all he wears is tight leather. meanwhile, we have aizawa, who wears a baggy enough jumpsuit that he could probably just wear a garbage bag instead and no one would be able to tell the difference. mic, who seems to meticulously care for his appearance, if that hair and weird mustache says anything, and aizawa, who looks like he hasnât had a haircut or seen a razor in 14 years.
then we get to the whole style thing. mic lives his life in the spotlight. dude is a radio (and also television, maybe?) star who is well known, the head of a department, and a well-known pro hero. aizawa, on the other hand, very specifically stays out of the spotlight and works in the underground and acts like he is in actual, physical pain every time he has to talk to the press. with their fighting styles, aizawa is far more passive and would be categorized as either a support or a defense hero, since his quirk is purely non-physical. his gimmick is stealth. however, mic is completely offensive. even in the final exams, mic didnât even chase the kids down. he literally just stood at the entrance and screamed, while aizawa has to get the drop on his opponents to attack them and usually has to be the first to attack.
speaking of quirks, i made a post a while ago about this, but micâs quirk absolutely does not have many counters. the best thing mic has to a counter is aizawaâs erasure. mic is insanely powerful and knows how to control his quirk and wouldâve easily won the final exam battle had it not been for his fear of bugs. i mean, when aizawa got hurt at usj, he easily leveled a bunch of villains with a single attack. countering micâs quirk is very hard since he has so much control over it, and really the only counter he has in canon is aizawa right now. which, is pretty significant when you consider that these two are pretty interconnected.Â
so yeah, i do really think mic is a foil to aizawa. mic usually doesnât show up by himself in the manga or the animeâaizawa is usually somewhere to be found either directly or indirectly in the scenes heâs in. mic is used to highlight a lot of aizawaâs quiet nature, especially since these are the first two veteran teachers we see in the seriesâaizawa, whoâs quiet and strict, and mic, whoâs loud and pretty friendly. i think mic is set up to be his foil and i hope their relationship is expanded upon more in the future, since i personally think itâs one thatâs important to aizawaâs character.
You know, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense
I think one of the reasons why Kaito said that he didn't fully believe Kokichi's dying words and still hated him might be because... He didn't want to believe. He denied it because admitting it would mean admitting that he had killed an ally. And even though Kokichi asked for it himself, it still feels... bad. Awful. Kaito already 100% blames himself for this death, even if he didnât want to really show it. Because if he didn't care, he wouldn't put SO much effort into his acting (and he gave his 200%). Plus, he's a very good-hearted person on his own.
So, if he would admit that he killed a (mostly) good person, then what kind of person does this make him? Does that mean that he is not so good of a person himself? And that bothers him not just because of his obsession with being a hero. He has a very strong moral principles. He always wants to help everyone.
Too little time had passed since the murder, and that time was mostly taken up by the Class Trial, where he had no time to process anything. Kaito simply didn't have an opportunity for that. I'm pretty sure he's still at the stage of denial. He simply refused to think about it, because deep down, of course, he understands everything. But he was not ready to admit this yet, especially out loud, and ESPECIALLY in front of his friends. Admitting this out loud would make this real. Admitting it out loud would mean admitting defeat.
Poor George, I wanna love you but now everything's a crime...
