not an important note worldbuilding wise, but its definitely relevant to the character designs; body modification is fairly common for both cosmetic and practical reasons. There are two types of body modification: the personal and the genetic. personal works a bit like a plastic surgery would, while genetic actively re writes the body and affects future generations. their legality and comonness depends on the place; the only completly banned one is Vex, as the way it affects the body is unpredictable. One of the traits all Vex have to deal with is change to skin structure; it separates unnaturally while it still tries to stick to itself, creating holes in the body. their wounds heal way faster than normal, but the process itself is mildly unpleasant to painful, depending on the injury; it feels like your skin is melting off. In Scars case, the scars have trouble healing themselves as they normally would
