If I made the Artemis Fowl movie. (Except it’s a tv show) Part 1

.(I suggest you read the title. It basically explains the whole thing)

Alright so episode 1 starts with a scene of Angeline and little Artemis (age 3 or 4) with Artemis’ favorite book from childhood. (We all know the one ;-;) They’re in Artemis’ bed and Angeline is yelling out to Artemis Sr.

Angeline: Timmy, get your but in here and read to your son!

Artemis Sr(You know what for convenience I’m just going to call him Timmy) Timmy: I’d love to darling, but I have some important business in the morning and I have to get some rest!

Angeline: Oh come on Timmy, you always have business!

Timmy enters the room with a sigh.

Timmy: Don’t pretend you're such a faithful bedtime reader yourself dear.

Angeline: Oh just sit down!

Angeline shifts in the bed to let Timmy lay down next to Artemis. Timmy makes an awkward noise as he tries to lay down next to Angeline instead. Angeline makes a face and shifts again and moves the opposite direction, nearly pushing Artemis off the bed to ensure that her husband has plenty of room.

They read the story and Artemis Sr talks about how he would get the gold and makes a comment about doing it at midnight. they both leave after the story. Artemis squints through his bedside window at a hill that he thinks would have been the perfect spot for a fairy to hide.

Then the camera is on face again his gaze is lifted where it stays. We see the passing of time  by the shadow of the moon on his face and after what is shown to be a long time he gets up. Artemis goes to the window to look at the moon overhead, showing that was what he was looking at the whole night. Then back down at the hill before leaving and the room. As he leaves the camera pans up and to the side, revealing a analog clock showing it to be 12:00 am.

Camera transitions to Artemis creeping down the stairs. Being completely silent. (Him being silently when he walks is mentioned multiple times in the first book so I thought that would let him get past butler) He pasts Butler rooms and down to the front door. What blocks blocks his way outside is a key pad. A keypad installed because, with Artemis in the house his parents realised they had to get security inside as well outside.

Artemis pulls out a flashlight he got off screen and shines first through the crack in the door. The camera follows the flash light revealing the picturesque land outside. The bright green grass illuminated faintly by the slowly rising sun.

Then the camera pulls back into the manor, the dark colour pallette in stark contrast to the colours outside. The only light that leaks in is from the outside.

Artemis shines the flashlight at the keypad. With a a small smile he keys in the code. Referencing the wear down on specific numbers. The lock clicks and he leaves. He starts walking to the hill the camera showing the sun rise igniting everything in colours resembling flames. The camera focuses on the momentary tracks Artemis’ feet put in the grass. The light not illuminating the indents when pushed in, but the grass soon pops up to glow once more.

Artemis almost makes it to the hill before Angeline, Butler, and Timmy catch up to him.

Angeline: Arty, what are you doing out of your bed!?

Artemis: I’m looking for a fairy.

Angeline: Really? Like in the story? Oh Timmy’s that’s so cute! Were you looking for the fairy? Did you want to play with it?

Timmy: Yes Angeline that is quite adorable. But, Artemis you shouldn’t go running off in the night like that! Also Artemis, you do know fairies aren’t real right?

Artemis:I suppose I do now...

Timmy:Well that’s good.

Timmy grins.

Timmy:Let me guess, you were really looking for the gold.

Angeline: Timmy! Of course not. Arty isn’t like that, he’s not all obsessed with gold like you! You were looking for the fairy. Weren’t you Arty?

Timmy: Nonsense, no  boy of mine would pass up the chance for gold! Right Artemis?

Artemis almost answers.

Butler:Madame, Sir i suggest that we should go inside now. It’s quite cold and I wouldn’t wish for anyone here to be compromised.

Timmy nods. : I think Butler is right dear. We should go in.

Back in the manor. Artemis Sr looks at his watch.

Artemis Sr: My, my, it’s that time already. Well I suppose there’s no time to go back to sleep hun. Not breakfast even!

Angeline: What? You’re leaving? Where are you going? Why didn’t tell me, tell us?

Artemis Sr: To Tokyo to meet Mr. Tanaka. I mentioned it last night, remember?

Scene cuts a few minutes later as Butler is preparing breakfast with The Major (Because I kind of forgot he existed for a bit their lol). Artemis Sr rushes down the stairs, briefcase in hand.

Artemis Sr: Alright see you honey!

He moves down the hallway then stops and motions Artemis to him.

Artemis Sr: Also Artemis I have something to tell you.

Artemis approaches and they continue down the hallway out of sight. Artemis Sr leans down to Face Artemis directly.

Artemis Sr: You know Artemis that you should never leave the house without telling us first.

Artemis nods.

Artemis Sr: Alright that’s good. Oh! And Artemis, you were out for the gold weren’t you?

Artemis smiles.

Artemis: Of course.

(I put this scene first instead of the monolog because you can’t really just do a straight up monolog like that in a television show. Well you can, but not well) So yeah, I’m trying to set some up some things here. I don’t know if you can tell, but I am. Also for those of you who like Artemis’ parents. Apologise, their not going to be painted in the best light here. (They weren’t great in the book ethier, but that’s another story)

So that’s part one on my take of the Artemis Fowl, “Movie” :)

Why they’re not saying Ma’Khia Bryant’s name
The 16-year-old Black girl could never be the "perfect victim."

After watching 15 seconds of police body camera footage last week, viewers of various races and political affiliations had made a decision: 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant was “the aggressor” — the “fat,” “huge,” “knife-wielding attacker” and “maniac” who deserved to be fatally shot by the police on April 20 in Columbus, Ohio.

According to these viewers, Nicholas Reardon, the police officer who immediately shot and killed Bryant, who was holding a knife, was justified. That she was a teenager in the middle of an altercation, in which she was presumed to be defending herself, did not matter.

Treva Lindsey, a professor of African American women’s history at Ohio State University, told Vox that there are those who won’t see Bryant as a victim but as someone who brought this on herself. And even for those who do see her as a victim, they’ll still victim-blame, erasing the systemic oppression — including that Black children are far more likely to be in foster care than their white counterparts, and kids in foster care are often exposed to high levels of violence — that brought her to being killed at the hands of the police.

“People will say ‘I’m really sad this whole scenario happened, but had she not had that knife …’ That becomes the ‘but,’ the qualifier, the caveat. And too often we have a caveat when it comes to defending, protecting, and caring for Black girls,” Lindsey said.
