Nancy treating Max with such kindness and concern while not even sparing Mike a second glance after seeing a vision of something bad happening to him

Leaving him behind in Starcourt

Refusing to acknowledge his discomfort with being spied on and then proceeding to ask about his relationship status despite claiming they had more important things to do

The only time Nancy spends a substantial amount of time with him and shows him concern is when his connections indirectly benefit her (purposeful or not it paints a bad picture)

It's not about the sisterly teasing, it's about Nancy being so absent from Mike's life that even Ted friggin Wheeler notices. 😑 She's cool, she can kick butt, but her skill as an older sibling is lacking.

Been watching the makeover scene on repeat because it's fascinating. Mike is literally making up El the way he wants her to be, very feminine, blonde, the idealized American girl. She doesn't get a say in her clothes or her makeup or her hair, they are simply decided for her while she is obviously very uncomfortable. Secondly, Mike doesn't call her pretty until she's got the wig on, as if at that moment he realized "Shit, I like to spend time with this person, she's a girl, that means I must have a crush on her, quick call her pretty" It's watching two kids pretending to be someone they're not. Compare that to the Max makeover

There's even a parallel in the mirror frame, I mean c'mon.

Max is the anti-Mike and El is so much happier around her

no no no wait a minute!!!! in season 3 Mike starts being inconsiderate towards Dustin and in s4 it happens again towards Lucas.... my theory that they will fight during the time jump is becoming a real possibility in my mind 😭😭😭😭
