Honestly, I'd rather believe it's going to be a disaster and be pleasantly surprised, than trusting again and be disappointed at the outcome. The interview snippets with the staff do seem to indicate a more faithful take on the books, but it was also kind of the case with the movie at first and we all know how that turned out, so :/ Here's to hoping Eoin Colfer and Disney Theatrical make me eat my words o7
So apparently there is going to be a musical theatre adaptation of Artemis Fowl. I love musical theatre, but honestly I just cannot see this going well.....
π π» Mullet!Juliet origin story π π» ... which is : Holly visited while Samsonetta was away, they watched some replays of the fairy sport that I don't know the name of in English ('croqueballe' in French) ; then Juliet showed Holly a few monuments of human cinema (namely, Bloodsport and Samurai Cop)... and they just decided to cut Juliet's hair π
I just wanted more Juliet and Holly friendship, we were robbed in canon. I'm happy with their expressions, not so fond of the background but I rarely do backgrounds ever so that's not that bad I guess.

I'm gonna miss this blog so freaking much Γ©.Γ¨
Am spending a week at my parents', and look who's there ! Do you recognise this owl ? π¦Yep, that's right ! Baby Artemis' plushy is real baby ! β¨ She belongs to my mum, and her real name is Hedwige π₯°
Here it is !
Mum helped with the pattern and the structure, and I sewed all the details, by hand mostly :D
This century's silhouette is the least flattering ever but I'm still super proud that we made this entire garment in only a week ! :D
Will probably touch up a few things here and there, but overall I'm ready to go larp >:3

Alysa Liu (USA): 2025 World Championships
Returning from a two-year retirement, Alysa Liu concludes her comeback season as the 2025 World Champion, scoring her personal best scores in international competition! She is the first US woman to win the title in 19 years, since Kimmie Meissner in 2006. She now enters the Olympic season as the defending World champion. π₯
"If there was no one on Earth, I would still skate. As long as thereβs music and as long as thereβs ice and our skates, I would still do it." - Alysa Liu, on her renewed love for the sport
π€ Character you least understand?
Thatβs such a tricky question to answer, depending on how you interpret βunderstandβ. Thank you for asking ! After pondering for a bit, I think Iβll say Artemisβ grandfather. What I donβt understand about this person, is why we know so absolutely little about him, when he should be SO important to explain why Tim became Tim, and thus how Artemis became Artemis. The little we do know about this grandfather just feels off and weird to me. Basically, heβs only truly mentioned three times : - In book 1, Angeline mistakes Artemis for his grandfather, and talks to him extremely fondly and casually, even calling him (in the French version at least) by the most informal term possible to adress a grandparent/FIL ; indicating a very warm and soft relationship ? Though it might just be her psychotic episode distorting the actual truth of how they interacted ? - Then Tim, in TEC, claims that his father only treated him as a businessman and barely knew him as a person ; if his relationship with his father was so cold and distant, why would Angeline show this man such kindness, when we know how fierly protective she is of the ones she loves ? - And then, in TAC Artemis recalls a fond memory of spending time in his grandfatherβs workshop. Sure it might be Angelineβs father in this memory but I donβt think it is. I feel like Timβs father deserved to be a much more prominent, menacing shadow, even being long dead before the start of the first book. I would have loved to know more about him (like, I donβt know, a name would have been nice ^^β), but thatβs also just me wanting to know more about the Fowl family in general. The good thing here at least, is that there is such little lore that it gives a lot of leeway for headcanons π And oh, how many do I have about this man π
