Rachel Maksy gets a lot of hate for her slapdash methods (which I understand in a way, some of her techniques make me viscerally cringe). But as a recovering perfectionist I find watching her process fascinating, edifying, almost aspirational in a way?
My method is so painstaking and I hold myself back a lot for fear of not doing a thing """"the right way""""" or choosing the absolute """"""best""""" techniques materials etc. Which makes my progress so torturously slow and mentally exhausting that it kills the joy. Not to mention results in a lot of unfinished projects because I can't bring myself to face the insurmountable hurdle of how to finish it off perfectly.
And then there's Rachel Maksy who brings a project together with half a tutorial, unfinished seams, and a pound of hot glue... And ends up with a finished product that looks good! (Or good enough, which is by definition good enough). And it's fine? She does it """"wrong"""""" and there are no penalties?? The end product is imperfect and that's ok???
Idk. I just like her videos and appreciate the chance to learn from her process
Between Manfred in the background absolutely clobbering a Venatori and Emmrich pulling off the hottest mage move in the whole game, this clip has it all
