[ID: A digital painting of the character Adrien Agreste from the cartoon Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. Adrien is sitting with a peafowl perched on his shoulder. The peafowl's neck and head obscures Adrien's eyes, and it looks at the camera in Adrien's stead. Adrien has a soft smile, and he's gently cradling the colorful tail feathers that fall into his lap. i watched the s5 finale.
I think MLB has a really good opportunity here to reinforce the importance of the Ladybug-Chat Noir partnershipâreally, a lot of the groundwork for it has been laid out already. Because much to mine and many fansâ disappointment, Adrien did almost nothing in this episode. He wasnât able to contribute at all to the final confrontation, Ladybug did not have him by her sideâand she lost! She was, in fact, not able to do it without her partner, just like she always says! She didnât have Chat there to back her up in the fight, or balance out her habit of wanting to see the best in people and offering second chances, which allowed Gabriel to win.
That theme of imbalance is reflected in Gabrielâs choice to shirk Ladybugâs offer to find a solution at the human level and instead continue to pursue his wish for a world thatâs perfect (for nobody but himself). I really donât think this âperfectâ world will last, I think LB and Chatâs relationship will be tested one ultimate final time through the reveal of what Ladybugâs been hiding from Adrien and Chat, but once theyâre on more equal footing again vis a vis: information, theyâll come out on the other side stronger for it
