They are going to cause problems <3
scarian is nice, so is grumbo, but the best imo is the scar, grian, and mumbo poly
oh. there's an unreachable desert on the other side of the border of the limited life map. aha. yeah. im normal about that. no symbolism about never being able to go back to something yet never being able to escape it, always just outside your peripheral vision. nothing of the sort there. aha.
I love how inherently selfish both Glinda AND Elphaba are as protagonists. But where one gets praised and admired for it, the other gets demonised and hated.
People always attack Glinda’s decision not to runaway with Elphaba, but no one acknowledges how overtly selfish it is to ask that of someone.
Elphaba is asking Glinda to throw her ENTIRE life away for her. To be ostracised and hated all throughout Oz when she knows full well how badly Glinda cares about what people think of her.
And while Elphaba is used to such ostracisation, Glinda is not.
It is an equally selfish decision to refuse Elphaba request. To perpetuate corrupt beliefs you don’t believe; in order to be accepted and validated by people in power.
They’re BOTH in the wrong, for entirely different reasons. It was an impossible situation with no right answer. And I’m sick of people acting like Glinda made the “ wrong choice ”
y'know what? fuck it! shout out to all my fellow "stereotypes!"
shoutout to my fellow autists who do feel like a kid in an adult’s body because their mind works differently. shoutout to my fellow systems who have alters that lash out, and/or alters of fictives from popular media. shoutout to my fellow bpd folks who get clingy and have abandonment issues. shoutout to the autists who act "robotic" and love trains or dinosaurs. shoutout to the people with OCD/OCPD who do get obsessions with cleanliness and orderliness, who do wash their hands over and over, who do lock and unlock the doors a specific number of times. shoutout to the people struggling with intrusive thoughts that do get the violent ones and the sexual ones, not just the self-injurious ones.
shoutout to my fellow flamboyant gays. shoutout to the lesbians who wear flannel and have buzzcuts. shoutout to the aces who like space and cake and dragons. shoutout to the aces who are stoic and don't have an interest in bonding with people even non-romantically. shoutout to the nbs with neopronouns and names like "star." shoutout to the queers(or otherwise lgbt+ folk if you don't use that term for yourself) who have dyed and cut hair, wear a shitload of pronoun pins, wear a rainbow binder that can be seen, and love talking about how much they love being part of the community.
shoutout to my fellow activists who yell and get mad. shoutout to my fellow activists who bring up the problems in things, even if it means "always making it political." shoutout to the feminists who don't wear bras or shave, and don't get along with men.
shoutout to the men who struggle with emotions. shoutout to the men who love blue and camo and trucks and fixing things and sports and hunting. shoutout to the women who cry easily. shoutout to the women who take hours getting ready. shoutout to the women who love pink and shopping and shoes and cooking and taking care of kids and cleaning.
i'm very white so i'll summarize the next one: shoutout to all the BIPOC fitting into "stereotypes" as well. if anyone who is BIPOC wants to give specific shout outs, go for it!
to anyone who fits these or any other "stereotypes":
Anyone who hates whatever group you are in for these "stereotypes" would hate your group regardless; anyone who accuses you of "giving your group a bad name" is deflecting the hate onto you because it's easier to pretend that it's nothing they are doing that gets that hatred; the truth is, bigots are bigots and they will always find a "reason" to be hateful. You trying to avoid "stereotypes" will never change that.
(do not fucking clown on this post. you will not get a debate from me, you will get blocked.)
This is the same paper that we see her get back in this scene, in which we can see this was a large essay too.
There's nothing rushed to her handwriting, this was not an essay done at the last minute, and still, it shows several signs of a learning disability and/or dysgraphia.
Misspells her name in the second line
Wrong and inconsistent pronoun usage
Her margin spacing is consistent with someone who can't do proper syllable division
Immature transcription (see: writes her "um"s)
Limited vocabulary
Shows signs of: difficulty expressing ideas in writing, having a limited vocabulary, mispronouncing words or using a wrong word that sounds similar, and having trouble organizing what she wants to say. Those are all symptoms of a learning disability.
Less of a checklist sign, but her handwriting is very round and careful, while still not being consistently sized (see unfashionable). This and the margin sizes are very common in kids with bad dysgraphia who are made to take rigorous calligraphy courses to "fix the problem". Courses that work on the visual without remedying its underlying issues and causes. Form over content if you will.
Looking at this very blatant sign that she has a learning disability and immediately defaulting to calling her names (yes calling her stupid and saying Elphaba is a moronsexual for this counts), asking how she got into Shiz, or defending Dillamond in doing the very first thing teachers are told NOT to do with disabled students (re: calling attention to it in front of the entire class) is ableist!
My man casually dropping things like that. I'm gonna cry
Something I'm obsessed about is.. How some hermits come off in other people's videos vs their own videos
Scar can feel infinitely more threatening in others' videos whilst in his own pov he seems so fun and cheery. One of my favorite example is his audience with Ren. From his POV he comes off as just messing around, not really listening and just doing his own thing because he doesn't really respect Ren, not really
From ren's pov he comes off as terrifying - you watch Ren have his audience and assert his authority with the rest of his court, and then Scar walks in, and he takes complete control of the scene. Where others listened, nodded, and kneeled - Scar strolls to the throne at his side, sits, and smiles condescendingly as Ren demands scar sell his gigapies.
Whereas from Scar's point of view it's one of his endless swindling moments, when he tries to negotiate the whole thing, from ren's pov he just comes off as... So... Terrifying? Its hard to put into words. He won't budge. Faced with a monarch he supposedly swore his fealty for, for whom he's killed and brought the head of resistance members... He continues to stand tall, chin up, and refuse his frivolities.
It's just... So interesting to me.
Similarly, Joel in the life series - particularly last life - almost always comes off as so unhinged, unpredictable and violent. He's scary in a different way than scar, like an rabid dog.
But if you watch Joel's povs he's so soggy and pathetic. Even in last life. Especially in last life. Rather than a rabid dog he's suddenly a shaking chihuahua, barking and growling at everything that comes his way but obviously helpless.
There's many more examples. How aloof grian comes off from other people's point of view is a good one. It's just... Interesting to me.
I myself struggle a lot with understanding the way I come off to other people. Coworkers and friends will describe me in ways that will genuinely surprise me. When watching the hermits/lifers, you can see this phenomenon from both angles, in a way. It's a nice little case study. How someone comes off when you have an intimate knowledge of their intentions and thought processes vs how they come off from an outside perspective.
Didn’t know how to add the video and couldn’t capture with just a screenshot lmao also apologies for the poor quality
a lot of things about this are funny to me:
1. This being his first tweet since December 13th
2. Why is he saying this. Like same but did he feel so strongly about wanting to walk in a snowy pine forest that he simply must tweet about it. Cozy cottagecore tangotek
3. The previous tweet in question is Ladies and Gentlement. Suck It GTWScar
not all the life series players crouch as a form of body language but i am convinced the ones that do all mean something different by it
