After months of planning and painting with @logic301, it’s amazing to have a physical copy of The Incredible True Story in hand. Though just paintings and artwork that are slapped and packaged around the real art, the music – a lot of love actually went into that package to make it complement the sonic side of things. The album is a painting of 12 of the people including Logic front and center that helped create it – all in the cockpit of the fictional ship that the concept album takes place on, heading towards the planet Paradise. In it is everyone from @biglenbo to @6ixvmg even me in the back center, down to Bobby’s wife, Jess and their dog in a poster in the back right. It’s inspired by the films that inspired the album – Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Akira, Interstellar, etc. and is meant to be a key shot from his “movie”. When you open the tri-fold album, you see the interior packaging but it’s really meant to actually represent the opening title card when you are about the begin a film (ie KILL BILL a film by Quentin Tarantino), this minimal design and logo was done in collaboration with my amazing girl @kendalldlock who found the perfect way to take Logic’s inspirations and my artwork and help us invite you into the cinematic album through slick type, layout, and color, showing the Babel space station on the far left and the Aquarius spaceship that the crew from the cover is aboard flying away on the right. Once there, you take out the disc, which is an extension of the space from the Interior art, with the planet Paradise glowing in the distance. You put in the album into your now vintage obsolete CD player, and you’re off, listening to The Incredible True Story. Thanks to @logic301 @teamvisionary and @defjamrecords Now go buy a copy <3

“Logic - Bobby Tarantino” - Cover Illustration by Sam Spratt for Def Jam
Cover art I painted for Logic’s surprise project that dropped at midnight last night. I’ve been and will continue to be buried away for awhile on some large projects but will always make time for our collabs. This was an insanely fun piece to tackle in the midst of it all – bob gave me the early tracks to listen to and then let me loose with pretty much full creative control to try to make something that fit the music. As with all of the album covers we’ve done together, this one is packed with easter eggs and little details for his fans.
You can listen to it on Spotify (or Apple Music).
