Interesting events and occurrences occurring in my ask box this evening
Hello! My name is Mon (she/they), a Vietnamese-American illustrator and background artist in animation based in Los Angeles, California! I love using fun colors, whimsical concepts, and nostalgic themes in my work to tell stories near and dear to me. Outside of art, I love cooking for friends, reading tons of comics, and finding new crafts to explore!
Great to meet you, Mon! Here are some of their illustrations and comics below that Mon has picked out.
Check out Mon’s Tumblr @monwinvo for more amazing artwork!

Ceila put a lot of effort into manipulating Sam. She should have just put the dimension tear in water and stuck it in the freezer.

LayClaire Week Day 2: Rewind
The hands turn back to that day,
an echo of who we were.
(you can’t really see it but, as a small detail, the clocks are ten hours apart to represent ten years :^))
I was flipping though an old sketchbook and found some art from like, 5 ish? 6 ish years ago?
It was from a comics class i took at a nearby university during middle school. By itself it's not that interesting because it just kind of sucks. It's kind of impressive how much it sucks, because at the time it took me a full half an hour to make this.
This is a five minute sketch of the same character. It's not perfect, sure, of course it's not, I didn't use reference or think about it a whole lot, but it's still just so substantially better than the first one that it's insane. I look at these two things next to each other and I'm flabbergasted at seeing how much I've improved. I'm really proud of how far I've co.e in the past few years.
