(Ben and Luke, Ahsoka, Rex, and Leia, Chrono)
Intensely on my mind right now: Rex’s weird role as just That Mando Kid Wandering The Temple in the Uncle Ben and Little Luke verse
He walks in on padawan strategy classes, looking all of ten or twelve years old, and just sits in the back. He waits. He audits. When someone complains about how they don’t need battlefield strategy classes, that they’re Jedi and there hasn’t been a war in so long, when the teacher is just exhaustedly explaining for the fifth time that Jedi are regularly called in to warzones, to negotiate ceasefires or extract Senate representatives, when the teacher tries to impress upon their students that reading a battlefield is important even if you don’t expect to lead a battle…
Rex just sets a dejarik board in front of the padawan, who’s twice his size and can tell that Rex is about as force-sensitive as a barely-more-than-null brick, and says, “If you can beat me, you can claim that you’re good enough at reading a battlefield to skip this class. If you can’t, you’re sticking around. Understand?”
The teacher didn’t agree to this ahead of time, but has seen Rex pull this on other people, including experienced knights and masters, and just. Gestures for them to go ahead. Fuck it! The weird Mando kid is capable of outmaneuvering highly-ranked masters, Force or no! Clearly he knows his shit!
Rex, seasoned battle commander that he is, with literal decades of training and experience, wins easily. The padawan is very upset. Rex doesn’t care, because in his mind, the padawan’s behavior was going to get brothers from Kamino killed fifteen years down the line.
And he just keeps on doing that, to the point where all the masters who run those kinds of classes on war and strategy and tactics just reach out to Ben like “Hey… is this kid legit or just hyperfocused on the subject or–” “He grew up in a military cult.” “…” “For reasons I cannot disclose, yes, he’s legitimately more experienced in this field than most field-ready Jedi masters. Just be glad the military cult in question wasn’t Kyr’tsad, honestly.”
Spoiler: This is an excerpt from an unnamed fanfic.
The Force suddenly flares in warning, and Anakin looks up sharply to see an explosive – he didn’t see where it came from – flying right towards them. Instinctively he throws up his hands, altering its path, pushing it away from the palace and from the clones.
It crashes down in the midst of the droids, tearing through them, sending pieces of metal flying in every direction. Some of the clones are still too close, though, and he sees several of them collapse to the ground.
Rex.
Anakin’s eyes fall on the captain. He was too close, and he’s injured too, and the droids are heading right towards him, still shooting, and the few others who are injured next to him.
No one will be able to get to them in time. Except for maybe him.
Anakin springs into motion in a flash, sprinting out from behind the cover of the palace, and running towards where Rex is lying. He ducks the blaster bolts fired at him, raising a hand and calling his lightsaber to him from Obi-Wan’s belt.
The blade hisses to life in hands, and he deflects the last few shots away, yanking the super battle droid about to shoot Rex over to him with the Force, slashing it in half. He hastily finishes cutting through the rest of the droids right around him, and hurries over to the captain.
The explosion took out most of the droids, and the others should be able to handle the rest. Deactivating his lightsaber, Anakin crouches next to Rex, looking over his condition. The injury isn’t as bad as he first thought it was, but some of the injuries are much like shrapnel wounds, thanks to the flying metal from the explosion. Some of them are bleeding badly, and he definitely needs to be treated soon.
Anakin looks past him, to the other clones next. He doesn’t know any of their names, but their conditions don’t look much better. He needs to get them somewhere safe. They’re too exposed out here, with all the fighting.
“Don’t worry about us, sir,” Rex insists.
Anakin throws a glance over his shoulder at the approximately two dozen droids remaining. “They can handle it,” Anakin replies moving to help Rex into the palace.
oh dear, oh dear. have some Umbara (derogatory)

“Sir!” Waxer skids to a stop, out of breath. “I’ve found the platoon leader. He’s still alive.” The forest shivers around them, imaginary enemies blinking red eyes in the distance.
Cody hates it here. “Who is it?”
Waxer swallows and his face pales. “It’s—” he clutches the helmet in his hand tighter, duraplast creaking in his grip. “It’s Rex.”

It's Alastor's "time of the month", and he's afraid that people will find out. Of course, it's just his luck that his pad leaks... and Lucifer is the one to notice.
(This may be OOC, as it's based on our Alastor and Lucifer fictives)
Pairing: Radioapple (can be read as platonic, queerplatonic, or romantic)
Warnings: menstruation, internalized transphobia, T slur (said by a trans person + author is trans), smoking weed
this is the first fic we've written in a long time, apologies if it's bad lmao
-
Alastor sighs as he steps out onto the roof of the Hazbin Hotel. He leans against the wall and lights a cigarette, staring out at the city.
His smile slips ever so slightly as yet another cramp shoots through him.
"Ugh..."
Alastor quickly masks his pained expression as he hears a footstep behind him. He immediately recognizes the click of those heels.
"Hello, Lucifer." He turns to face the King of Hell.
Lucifer raises an eyebrow. "Alastor. I didn't take you for a smoker."
Alastor takes a drag from his cigarette. "Well, I am."
He turns away, wishing Lucifer would just leave him alone. He's in no mood to talk.
He silently curses as Lucifer leans against the wall next to him.
"You look even more tense than normal."
"And you're being even more annoying than normal." Alastor's annoyance is clear in his eyes, despite his unwavering smile. "Would it be too much to ask to be left alone?"
Lucifer raises an eyebrow. He recognizes the discomfort in Alastor's voice.
"Fine, then." He starts to leave, then turns back to say something else... but something catches his eye.
Alastor glances over at Lucifer. "What are you staring at?"
Lucifer clears his throat. "You, uh... got a little something."
Alastor's eyes widen when he realizes where Lucifer is looking. He immediately takes his coat off and ties it around his waist. "Leave me alone."
Lucifer nods and leaves.
Alastor is mortified. He tosses his cigarette and disappears into his shadow, appearing in his room. He goes straight into the bathroom and strips his pants off. His pad is entirely soaked.
"Damn it..."
He quickly fills his sink with cold water and dunks his soiled pants into it. He sprays some hydrogen peroxide on the stain and gently washes it out.
Alastor puts on some clean pants and a fresh pad. He's hanging the wet pants on the shower rod to dry when he hears the door open.
"So this is why you've been so pissy."
Alastor immediately shoves Lucifer out of the bathroom and locks the door. "Get out!"
Lucifer is too caught off guard to fight back. He just stands there, staring at the door.
Alastor leans against the door and sinks down to the ground, feeling humiliated.
---
That night, Alastor curls up in bed, unable to sleep. He's cramping too bad, and the painkillers he took aren't doing anything. He just lays there, in a fetal position, hoping he'll just conk out already.
A knock sounds at the door, and Alastor groans. He gets up, takes a deep breath, puts on a smile, and opens the door.
"Lucifer. I should have known."
Lucifer pushes his way into the room. Alastor simply collapses back down onto the bed, too exhausted to argue.
"Alastor, when are you going to learn to ask for help?" Lucifer sits on the bed next to Alastor.
"...I don't need help. You worry even more than your daughter does."
Lucifer sighs and pulls the blanket off of Alastor's face, revealing his pained expression. "The tears in your eyes tell me otherwise."
It's true, there are tears welling up in Alastor's eyes. He curls up completely, as if trying to hide in himself.
Alastor suddenly feels something being pressed against his abdomen. He flinches slightly, but then he realizes that it's... warm?
"What is this?"
Lucifer sits back down. "A heating pad. It'll help the cramps."
Alastor lays there for a moment, feeling that the heat is indeed helping. He's realizing how caring Lucifer is being, and it makes him feel... safe.
"...thank you."
Lucifer gently rubs Alastor's arm. "I just don't get how someone can be so stubborn that they just suffer in silence."
Alastor weighs his options. Should he trust Lucifer with his feelings?
"...fine. You want to know why I don't trust anyone?" He sits up and looks at Lucifer nervously.
Lucifer nods slightly.
Alastor takes a deep breath. "Do you have any idea how much power I would lose if people knew what I'm really like?"
"Alastor, what are you-"
"I only have power because I'm feared. Do you realize how many people would just look down on me if it came out that I'm a tranny that can't handle a period cramp?" Alastor stops as he realizes he's crying.
Lucifer gently takes his hand. "Take a breath. I'm not going to tell anyone you're trans, okay?"
Alastor hiccups and takes a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Why wouldn't you? Plenty of people would jump at the opportunity to take me down like that."
"Alastor, you should know by now that I'm not like that. Sure, I fight with you a lot, but I'd never out you like that."
Alastor just pulls the blanket back over himself and curls up with the heating pad. The hormones from his period are making him emotional, but he's already overwhelmed by how vulnerable he feels.
Lucifer just sighs. He snaps his fingers, and in his hand appears a blunt.
"Here. This'll help the pain, and call you down."
Alastor looks at it, taking a breath. "...well, alright..."
The two of them share the blunt, and Alastor quickly calms down.
"Thank you, Lucifer... I think I might be able to sleep now."
Lucifer gently tucks Alastor in, pleased that he managed to help him.
"Sleep well, Al."
Okay so idea for angsty fic with Fiyero actually shooting Glinda in the cornfield. Meanwhile Elphaba doesn’t know that Glinda is hurt and is casting the spell trying to save Fiyero who manages to escape (he’s traumatized). Glinda is declared “dead” becomes a martyr. But, somehow Elphie’s spell affects her and Morrible works some magic that has surprising effects on Glinda
AKA Forced Adoption
Cody trudges into the room tired and pissed. He’s had enough of this day already and he can already see Bly’s stupid karking smirk. It almost makes him turn around. Almost. If it wasn’t for the ever growing weight on his back he would’ve about-faced and said kark it. His burden grumbles as his steps falter when Bly’s smirk sharpens. He knows the comment is coming, he knows, and if his arms weren’t full he would be preparing to deck him.
“We’re not keeping him, huh?”
“Shut up Bly.” A verbal jab is all he can do without jostling the cadet on his back. He strides past him to set their bleeding vod’ika on the bench.
“Not two hours ago you were saying he had to stay with his own squad. What changed your mind so fast?” Bly hands him a clean cloth and some gauze. He gets to work with a huff.
“His squad jumped him again.”
“They really don’t like that he’s blonde that much.”
“Apparently.”
“Wait. Why were you even heading back that way to begin with?”
“I looked him up. He’s been transferred thirteen times for infighting. It’s a wonder that the Kaminiis haven’t decommissioned him yet.”
“You were going back to grab him anyway.”
The statement is said with so much barely contained glee. He feels his eyebrow twitch twice before he can stop it and finishes wrapping up the cadet’s wounds. Heaving him back into his arms he strides past his infuriating brother once more. There’s no way to answer Bly’s statement, not without making the bastard even more smug. Besides he has to figure out how to get his vod’ika into a sleeping pod and then convince Alpha that the kid should be transferred into their squad.
“Kark you’re so kriffing soft. Who would have thought it possible. Kote has gone soft.”
“Shut Up Bly!”
i may not be able to do the whole month as i had intended bc life so idk we'll see

prompt: "this isn't you."
[summary: cody interrogates rex about ex-padawan tano's location.]
tw: electrocution
-
The cuffs chafe at his wrists, leaving them angry and red. Rex knows there is no point, escape is futile. That doesn't stop him from trying.
"Cody, please." The trooper just stares blankly at him, unyielding. A relic of what was once his brother.
"Tell me where Ex-Padawan Tano is." If he can just get through the programming, he can save Cody. They can leave this white room of hell, and be together, like they were meant to be.
"This isn't you!" The tension in his chest cracks, catapulting the shockwave of emotion into the empty space.
Cody just blinks, unaffected.
"Where is Ahsoka Tano?" His hands yank at the restraints.
Cody's eyes flick to his struggle for freedom.
"Having trouble?"A hint of Cody's old smirk returns. Rex is not glad to see it. Now cocky and smug, it's like an imposter has taken root.
"I'm not telling you anything." It hurts to look at Cody. His eyes are cruel, glinting with unfamiliar malice. The calculating nature once present in his friend has been honed like a knife. Sharp and prepared to strike deep.
"You were the last to see her." There is no way he'll give up Ahsoka. They'll have to pry the knowledge from his cold, dead hands.
She's his last friend.
Cody continues, "I examined the crash-site myself. The Venator is destroyed, but I know she isn't."
"Vod"-
"Don't call me that. I am not a traitor, I serve the Empire." The words reek with bitter irony. Rex knows Cody, the real Cody, would scream with the knowledge of what he's become.
"Cody, I can help you."
"Stubborn as always, I see. It's no matter." Cody stands and walks toward the exit, mumbling about obstinance and loyalty.
He opens the door to talk quietly with the Imperial guard.
"Tell Lord Vader we shall have her whereabouts by tomorrow. This one is being difficult."
Lord Vader's name sends a spike of fear through his heart, he's heard the rumors. A man cloaked in death, one who leaves brittle, burning carnage in his wake.
But Rex will do anything to protect Ahsoka. Even face Vader head-on.
Rex closes his eyes and prepares himself. He will not break, He will not break, He will not break-
Footsteps move toward the button near the left side of the room, with purpose. The control panel Rex had catalogued immediately after waking.
His eyes jolt open, a last ditch effort to find Cody's. Once, he would've looked to them for comfort, for support. Now it is a desperate plea, hoping to find the last shred of goodness in his friend.
Rising panic meets swift brutality, and Cody places his finger on the mechanism.
Betraying his vod again-
The electrocution starts, and Rex knows no more.
Reconditioned Rex? That one sounds really interesting, how can I find the first part of it?
I'm sorry anon, there's no first part, I got my wires scrambled and confused the au 😭 I got a drawing (i think you can find it in the tag below, in on mobile, sorry :c), but lemme explain the basics of it >:)c
Basically, Rex is the one who shots Krell at Umbara, and he's sent to reconditioning. Because a logistics issue, they are accidentally sent to the 501st. Ofc, nobody assumes that's Rex, they just think this new blond kid is just a coincidence.
However, as time goes by, Torrent connect the dots and realize that this shiny used to be Rex!! The story the follows the five stages of grief, from denial (Rex has died) to acceptation (this shiny, Temple, is NOT Rex, but they wouldn't exist without his absence)
i love these two characters. i need to trap them in a collapsed building so they can talk about their feelings as one of them slowly bleeds out.
1. Rex wanting to get away from everyone because he’s stressed but doesn’t have anywhere to go where he won’t be bothered so he hides in a storage closet at the end of a lesser used hall.
2. Rex is naturally blond and when he was a cadet his batch was all normal, so they kinda shunned him and bullied him because being defective is highly frowned upon in clone culture.
3. I headcanon that Rex had a little brain damage from being yeeted every 2 seconds over 3 years which caused his chip to not work properly. Rex probably also suffers from chronic pain from all the injuries he’s sustained and then had healed in a matter of days because of bacta tanks.
4. Imagine after Fives death and it’s only Kix and Jesse left, Rex tries to make new friends with some shines, and then he sees them all die in their first battle and he gives up on trying to make new friends.
5. After Tup and Fives deaths the information on how they died is classified and Rex isn’t allowed to tell Jesse and Kix how they died so they get into an argument about it and end up not speaking to each other for a long while. Its not until much later when Jesse request for ARK training that start speaking again, but they act like their walking on eggshells when their around each other. Jesse only wanted training because he promised Fives a long time ago he’d look out for Rex if anything happened to him, and he doesn’t want Fives to come back and haunt him because he didn’t keep his promise.
6. Once on a mission Rex had to be left behind because they were ambushed and he got injured in the process. Nobody was able to go get him because they had to keep moving and Rex was captured. The whole time he was captured he didn’t think anyone would come to get him because he was just one clone.
7. Cody and Rex fought over Fives case, Rex somewhat believed Fives was right, but Cody didn’t believe it at all. Things got heated and things they didn’t mean were said, what ended it was Cody suggesting Rex was too emotionally unstable and threatened to send him back to Kamino. Rex was quite taken aback by this and left without another word, but they didn’t speak at all after that and then order 66 happened and they lost contact completely.
8. As a cadet Rex’s trainers were harder on him and would give him lower scores than the rest because of his blond hair which made him defective. This caused Rex to have a lot of anxiety as a cadet, as he was constantly threatened with decommissioning for not having a high enough scores.
9. He feels really guilty about dogma, like really guilty. It should have been him to pull the trigger but it wasn’t, and now Dogmas gone and he feels it’s his fault. He understood how Dogma felt, obey orders or face being decommissioned, it’s how he felt back at the beginning of the war. He would have taken Dogma under his wing and showed him it was ok to lighten up a little. But Dogmas gone, and it was his fault.
10. Has a phobia of wide open spaces, since he grew up on Kamino and in an in closed area his whole life, so when he suddenly placed in the vast expanse of space it didn’t sit very well with him.
11. Rex and Anakin were friends but were never close until ahsoka left. Rex felt that it was only the loss of ahsokas company that brought anakin to seek his presence. He just felt like filler for ahsoka.
12. Clones don’t get sick easily, their immune to most known pathogens, but Rex can get so stressed his body can’t take it and he becomes ill.
13. Rex has major survivors guilt way before order 66 happened but after the order it got much worse.
14. Rex and Wolffe fought too. Wolffe was upset and thought ahsoka had betrayed them and had killed their brothers, but Rex knew she would never. When it came out ahsoka wasn’t guilty things were awkward between them. Wolffe and Rex were close since they’ve known each other on Kamino.
15. Ahsoka never said goodbye to Rex when she left and he was upset about it because he felt he didn’t mean enough to her to warrant a fair well.
Sorry for being angsty city on main, Im sad and my favorite trope is hurt no comfort because I need therapy. Anyway, feel free to add your own!
He overhears the guards. He’s been here so long they don’t really care about hiding Separatist secrets from him. They know there’s no chance of Rex being rescued, and Rex stopped trying to escape on his own a long time ago.
They say he’s being transferred.
There might be a way to escape if he’s being moved but… what’s the point? It’s been months. Rex would never betray the Republic, hasn’t spilled one secret and never plans to, but the loyalty he has for the Republic is not reciprocated. He didn’t expect it to be. Out of millions of clones, thousands of captains, one captured prisoner is negligible.
He’d hoped his General and Commander would care enough to try and find him. Maybe they had, but it’s not in them to fail and give up. Either way he would be declared KIA by now.
Nobody is looking for him, nobody needs him. All he can do is quietly rot in one prison or another and do his duty not to reveal secrets that are probably outdated.
Rex walks calmly into the transport and is patient for the hours-long journey. He is led into a facility that looks fairly identical to the last. The first difference he notices is the prominent smell of bacta.
His cell is different too. Well, it’s not a cell, really. More of a medical examination room. He grimaces at the straps on the table. The guards shove him onto it, and despite every bone in his body screaming at him to fight back… he lets them strap him down.
“Oh, is it time for my checkup?” he hums sarcastically. “Your healthcare’s more impressive than what the GAR offers!”
He can still move his head, at least, so he looks around the room. There’s a large mirror that can only be a viewing window with one-way glass. His blond curls, having grown out far past regulation, block some of his view as he tries to squint and see if there are any figures on the other side.
The guards leave and the door buzzes loudly as it locks. “Is that really necessary? You think I’m gonna yank off this synthleather and run down the hall to give the guards some exercise?”
Nobody replies. “You Seppies have no sense of humor,” he grumbles.
Speakers in the room’s corners fizzle on. “VOICE ACTIVATION EXPERIMENT,” it announces, loudly. The audio is shrill and grainy, and Rex cringes. He wishes he could cover his ears but, again, his arms are strapped down.
“What? What experiment–?”
“TEST ONE. ANY VOICE, ALL COMMANDS.”
Rex only has to wait in confusion for a second before voices high and low, alien and humanoid, garble together and overwhelm him. They’re saying something about executing orders, numbers. He can already feel a headache setting in from the noise.
Then as soon as it starts, it’s over. “RESULTS: NEGATIVE. AS EXPECTED.”
“What was supposed to happen?” he wonders aloud.
“TEST TWO-ALPHA,” the voice continues. “SEPARATIST OFFICIALS.”
The speakers blast out the same nonsensical phrases. Order Five, Execute Order Thirty Two, Execute Order Sixty Six. Some of the voices are robotic and vocoded like Techno Unioners, one has a distinct arachnid tch-ing. They’re loud, but the experimenters seem no more satisfied. They move on. “TEST TWO-BETA. REPUBLIC OFFICIALS.”
He wonders through the ear-piercing noise how in the Sith Hells they got these voice recordings. Maybe they’re computer generated?
He hears Commander Tano say Execute Order Thirty Seven and a tear slips down his cheek. That’s it, these can’t be real. He wonders why he thinks it would be such a terrible thing for her to say, other than a deep gut feeling.
“TEST THREE,” the voice seems almost excited this time, like it’s really expecting something to happen. “CONFIRMED CODE ENABLERS.”
Rex frowns as he hears a tinny recording of Count Dooku’s unmistakable voice reciting the list of orders. He sits through it an looks expectantly to the ‘mirror’.
But this part of the test apparently isn’t done. He hears Chancellor Palpatine recite the orders. His head feels strangely heavy, his eyes can’t seem to focus, and his veins fill with ice. But when the recording is over he feels more or less the same.
“What… was that? What are you doing to me?”
“WHY DIDN’T IT WO–” the audio cuts off, the experimenter probably realizing he shouldn’t broadcast his apparent failure to his test subject.
Rex waits in silence. His mind hasn’t raced this fast since he was first captured. What are they trying to do?
If he escaped, could he warn the Republic? Save other clones from this… whatever this was? Rex tugs at his restraints.
The door buzzes open again and of all the people in the galaxy it is The Count of Serenno, Count Dooku himself that strides in with a nervous looking Ishi Tib in a labcoat hiding behind his brown-black cape. He stands above Rex, looking down with his face in shadow. His eyes seem to glow.
“My master was clever,” he hums. “False recordings won’t work. But soon we will find ways to get around that particular problem.”
“What do those orders mean?”
Dooku doesn’t answer, only leans down to Rex’s ear. “Might as well get some use out of you. Execute Order Sixty Six.”
CT-7567 stared blankly ahead. “Yes, Sir.”
There are no traitors in sight, but if he ever sees one, he knows exactly what to do.
“Now, little pawn,” Dooku waves a hand in front of him. “Sleep.”
CT-7567 Sleeps as commanded. He does not know for how long.
When he is brought back to consciousness, he is laying on some grassy ground, looking up at a blue sky. A Separatist ship is flying away from him.
“REX!” A strangely familiar voice shouts. He hears someone running towards him, and a traitor kneels beside him.
