Just a little piece inspired by @jasjuliet‘s beautiful piece. Can be read as shippy or not. Up to you. Under a cut because it got a little long. Also available on ao3.

or: what if "getting her way" was glinda's magic?
///
It was a known fact of the universe, that Galinda Arduenna Upland of the Upper Uplands was undeniably, miraculously, wickedly lucky.
Fate loved her. In all things, Galinda Upland always came out on top, no matter the odds. She won every bet, she was granted every wish, she never met a hardship she couldn’t overcome. She floated through life knowing her tea would never spill and her feet would never trip and her hair would never look anything less than perfect.
She was never late. Her shower was always hot. She won every dice and card and guessing game. She found diamonds in the dusty sidewalks, grew flowers in shadows and sand, and never had a nail chip or a dress rip. Her nona used to say she was blessed, a little luck child, dipped in stardust and destined to always shine.
And shine Galinda did. She was beloved by all who met her, never having to ask more than once for things to go her way. She was just lucky.
Until, of course, she wasn’t. The first time she noticed it was her very first day of school at Shiz University. Galinda had hustled up to talk to Madame Morrible--the Madame Morrible!--to discuss her entry into the woman’s famous sorcery seminar. She had been a little late and lazy on her essay, but she was confident.
She was always confident.
So imagine her surprise when Morrible told her no. No?! That never happened.
Galinda shook it off, though. Perhaps it was just…a slip-up. Perhaps Morrible was distracted and she’d apologize later and let Galinda know that of course she was enrolled in sorcery. Galinda had shook it off, until of course she was almost flattened by a bench being thrown through the air!
Galinda had felt fear, real fear, for one of the first times in her life. She’d stumbled back on unsteady feet, nearly falling into ShenShen behind her. Then when the dust had settled and that awful green girl was talking to Morrible, Galinda had tried to simply walk over and she’d tripped!
Galinda. Tripped.
And to top it all off? Now she was saddled with that awful green girl as a roommate.
Galinda stood there, gaping as Elphaba walked off. Because you see- it’s not that Galinda hadn’t had small bouts of bad luck over the years. There had been a few times when things hadn’t gone quite as well as they could have. Times when Galinda didn’t quite think she got everything she wanted.
But even in those moments, it wasn’t really her being unlucky so much as it was her being a little less lucky than normal. This, though? This was undoubtedly unlucky.
Galinda’s heart pounded and her ears rang. This…wasn’t possible. It just wasn’t.
“What happened?” her friends asked, equally bewildered.
Galinda only had one thing she could say. “Something is very wrong,” she declared. Her eyes followed Elphaba and Morrible as they walked away from her. Heat pooled under her skin as some unrecognizable feeling started boiling in her veins.
“I didn’t get my way.”
Chapter 5 - Revelations Read on AO3
Summary: Ashla climbed the ladder. It gave her enough height to comfortably reach over the side of the tank. Rex rose slowly toward her, keeping eye contact as his head broke the surface.
Words: 2629
Warning: physical violence (nothing graphic)
**********
One of the men in red and gold livery was waiting for her when Ashla pulled up to Palpatine’s mansion. He opened the front door for her, then followed as she headed for the seascape hallway.
“This way, miss,” the man said. “He’s in the lab.”
Ashla’s gut clenched. That didn’t sound good at all.
The man led her through a new hallway, through a door that led outside to a wide expanse of lawn.
“What’s your name?” Ashla asked, trying to distract herself from the growing unease crawling up her spine.
The man gave her a surprised look, then said, “Thire.”

The defective one
He heard them. Speaking about one of his many little brothers. They were discussing about the usefulness to keep him alive despite his default.
- It’s not like the other ones. Kill it.
- Except for the hair, it’s fine.
- We will have to sell it twice cheaper. It’s a waste of money.
- It doesn’t fit the specifications. Kill it.
CC-2224 stopped listening to this atrocious conversation and made a decision. He has to save this little boy, crying out loud in the general indifference. The “long-necks” were like that, ignoring the pain and the emotions of their creatures. In their gigantic black eyes, clones were just nothing more than a source of money provided that the army they were creating was perfect. And all the excuses were good to suppress the young ones who were not exactly the way they wanted: too little, too skinny, too pale, too slow… What about this one?
CC-2224 didn’t care. He just wanted to save this one from their claws. Taking advantage of one of the Kaminoans stepping away from the table, he ran to it and caught the tiny arm. Not paying attention of the orders falling from their mouth, he took the young boy in his arms. He was heavier than he thought but he didn’t drop him and ran backward, escaping their long fingers. Then he hid behind some machinery, ordering his brother to keep quiet. Luckily, the tiny boy was so fascinated by his big brother that he remained silent all the time they stayed hidden. Even when he started to pat his face with a surprisingly high strenght.
- What’s up with the little frog? asked CT-3636 when he finally arrived into their secret place.
Him and his brothers hid there when they didn’t want to study, like this day.
- They wanted to kill him.
CT-3636 rolled his eyes over the sky. He heard this sentence too many times before.
- And for what? Just some blond hair, he sighed while sitting down to release the little one.
Actually, CC-2224 was quite amazed by the color of his brother hair. They were so light that they seem to be translucent here and there. The contrast with his dark skin was impressive.
- Hello, there, said CT-5052, crouching to be closed enough to the new comer.
The baby looked at him with the same fascinated gaze as he has for him times ago. CC-2224 supposed he has never seen clones before - not grown-ups like them, actually. CT-5052 nicelly booped his tiny nose with his finger to reassure him, but CT-3636 pushed him away and raised his fist in front of his little face.
- He’s too young for this, underligned CC-2224. He won’t understand.
- That’s what you say, snapped CT-3636. Come on, bro! Show me who’s the man here!
The big amber eyes widened as much as the snarly smile of CT-3636 stretched on his round face.

I don’t know again if it’s accurate or not and I don’t care. I just wanted to draw a tiny Rex with a big brother Cody. And I don’t want to hear about “dyed hair” or something. For me, Rex is a natural blond baby mutant (what? We’ve got clones with blue eyes, it’s necesseraly a mutation. Why not hair color mutation?). Remember, I love contrast so blond hair with dark skin is just perfect for me. :D
Bly looks older on this drawing but he’s not (it’s just that I can’t draw him well). ^^;
Even if it’s not obvious with the last drawings I’ve made, I’m more a sketcher than a colored finished pieces drawer (and I’m more a writer than a drawer anyway). But, clones seem to motivate me enough to push me to make some effort. Enjoy. For now.
(Sorry for the mistakes again, French speaker is in da place! /o/)
so! i did a poll like a week or so ago and model glinda/photographer elphie won in terms of modern aus you'd want to see. idk if I'll make a full fic but figured i'd give y'all a taste of the idea:
///
“Hey, Pfannee.” Elphaba lifts a hand in a casual wave as she enters the room, nodding her head to some of the other staff as she makes her way over to the young man. He brightens when he sees her, tottering over happily with his arms full of clothes.
Typical Pfannee.
“Elphaba, hey girl! Cutting it a bit close, aren’t you?”
“I’ve got three minutes to spare, what do you mean?”
Pfannee laughs, awkwardly nudging his glasses back up his nose without dropping his load. Elphaba drifts further into the room, putting down her bag and sipping on her tea.
“So, I heard we’re working with someone new today,” she drawls.
Beside her, Pfannee gasps. “You mean you don’t know?”
“Know what?”
But Pfannee’s shocked expressions falls into something mischievous and he shakes his head. “Nope. Not going to ruin the surprise now. You’re going to die when you see her.”
Elphaba rolls her eyes. By the way he’s acting, this new model is likely someone famous. Or- famous to Pfannee at least. Elphaba doesn’t really keep up with anyone like that. Despite having chosen photography as her career, she tries to keep herself separate from the fashion industry at large.
It’s incredibly toxic, and she’s seen what it can do to people. Case in point:
“I can't believe I get to take her new measurements! Rumors say that she’s lost weight, and that means I’ll be the first to know her smallest size!” Pfannee grins like that’s a completely reasonable thing to say about an adult woman.
Elphaba hides her frown behind another sip of tea. Most models don’t really have a lot of room to lose weight. If it’s enough to make a visible difference, especially since the woman’s last job, then she’s likely dropped a concerning amount in a very small time period.
Elphaba spends the next blur of time discussing the shoot with the other photographers as well as the lighting crew, the hair and makeup artists, and Pfannee and his lackeys. They’re mostly set up and ready to go when a voice announces the model is on her way in, and everyone bustles around to prepare.
Elphaba waits calmly, Pfannee nearly vibrating beside her. “Here she comes!” he says, just barely remembering in time not to physically shake Elphaba’s shoulders.
A man enters first, stunningly dressed in a tailored navy suit with his chestnut hair swept back and his blue eyes sparkling. That’s sign number one. The second sign is the voice floating behind him, high and airy and delicate. Almost sing-songy.
Ice floods through Elphaba’s veins. It stops her heart for several seconds before it kicks back on, three times faster than before. Dread twists in her stomach as she turns and eyes the doorway where a glimmer of pink and gold awaits her.
It’s been years since she’s seen Glinda Upland. At least- in person that is.
Glinda Upland, one of the highest-paid models in the country, is featured on enough billboards, magazines, ads, commercials, social media posts, and celebrity shows to make even the lowliest citizen feel like they personally know her. Her face is everywhere, and what a stunning face it is.
Gorgeous and defined with flawless pale skin and dark chocolate eyes. Long lashes flutter as she blinks, and a single dimple carves into her cheek with every smile. America’s darling. Tiny, dazzling, desirable.
And the woman Elphaba once loved.
Hello :) Missing my siblings so I wrote this :)
It’s sorta a continuation of this, which is a modern AU where Alpha is the oldest. @plainshobbit all of this is your fault <3
*
Alpha had agreed to babysit for the morning so mom and dad could catch up on sleep. He didn’t have work, his only class was in the afternoon, and for once he was caught up on homework. So while their parents slept in and the other boys left for school, Alpha got Cody his breakfast and Rex a bottle.
There was one couch in the living room where you could sit and see inside the kitchen, so Alpha settled there with Rex and the bottle and kept half an eye on where Cody sat in dad’s chair with the armrests, smearing scrambled eggs across the kitchen table. Hopefully he got some inside his mouth. Alpha would have to remember to get him a snack later.
Cody had good balance and Alpha had specifically put him in the only chair he couldn’t fall out of, so eventually he turned his attention from the kitchen to trying to get Rex to fall asleep with the power of warm milk. It was slow going. Rex was a weirdly alert baby.
Alpha had been five when Fordo was born. He hadn’t been able to help at the time but he’d helped a lot in the ensuing years. He didn’t remember much from when Fordo was a baby, but he remembered everything from when Cody was a newborn, and Cody had been sleepy and serious and calm.
Rex cried. A lot. If he wasn’t being held he was crying. Anyone who said babies didn’t have personalities didn’t spend much time around them.
But Rex had also been up all night, and apparently warm milk was just as effective on fussy babies as happy ones, and eventually Rex fell asleep, his little scrunched up face going lax and milk dribbling out of his mouth. Alpha wiped it up and set the mostly empty bottle on the floor and adjusted Rex to be upright against his shoulder. He didn’t want to burp him while he was asleep, but if he did burp or something Alpha wanted to be prepared.
Finally he breathed a long sigh and closed his eyes and let his head thunk against the back of the couch. He hadn’t been up all night, but he hadn’t gotten as much sleep as he should have, knowing he was going to be dealing with a toddler and a newborn in the morning.
This was going to be a long day.
After a few minutes he actually started to drift off so he didn’t notice the terrifying pitter patter of little feet until it was almost too late, jerking his head up just as something squishy slammed into his legs and catching Cody’s slimy hand right before it landed on his jeans.
“No. You can’t touch, you have egg on you,” he said, very stern.
Cody gave him a look that said as soon as Alpha let go of that hand he would also have egg on him.
“Don’t test me, brat,” he muttered under his breath.
Maintaining eye contact, Alpha released his grip and gently nudged Cody in the stomach with a socked foot. Cody scowled and took a few steps back.
Leaning as far over as he could without dropping Rex, Alpha fumbled around in the diaper bag next to the couch and found a packet of wipes. Cody whined and wriggled as Alpha cleaned his face and hands, but suffered the indignity. Alpha would have to remember to clean the kitchen before their parents woke up.
When he was clean Cody again threw himself against Alpha’s legs, waving one fist in the air in Rex’s general direction.
“Wha’ ith?”
“What is it?” Alpha translated. “It’s baby Rex.”
“Baby Reth?”
“Baby Rex.” Alpha shifted the baby, regarding Cody with a raised eyebrow. “You want to hold him?”
“Ho’l da baby?”
“Hold the baby, that’s right. Come sit.”
Cody pulled himself up onto the couch, grunting with exertion and heaving a sigh as he flopped next to Alpha.
He’d held Rex once already, in the hospital when they’d all gone to visit mom, propped up next to her in the bed and with dad’s arms supporting his own. But that had been a whole four days ago and he likely didn’t remember.
Alpha hesitated, and then carefully set Rex on the cushion on his other side and reached over to pull Cody into his lap. Cody kicked his legs, giggling as he settled.
“Hold still. You have to hold still.”
“Ho’d still?”
“That’s right. Hold still. Now, put your arms like this.”
Alpha tugged at Cody’s arms until they were curved with enough room to cradle a baby.
“Dis?”
“This. Right. Good.”
Alpha leaned over, making sure he didn’t dislodge Cody, and picked up Rex. Ever so carefully he maneuvered the baby into Cody’s hold, keeping his own arms wrapped around both of them so as to keep the whole squirmy mess of small child contained.
Cody made a little sound of excited wonder when Rex settled in his arms, miraculously still asleep. Alpha smiled, resting his chin on top of Cody’s head. They were both so very small.
“Sleepin!”
“Yes, the baby’s sleeping.”
Cody pulled a hand free– Alpha adjusted his own hold to compensate– and patted Rex forcefully on the head.
Alpha sucked in a breath. “Gentle, Cody. You have to be gentle. See, like this.”
He maneuvered until he could free his own hand, and then took Cody’s and smoothed down Rex’s curls. “Gentle.”
“Gent’o.”
“That’s right. Good job.”
With Alpha’s help Cody sat still and stroked Rex’s hair for almost a full minute, before he got bored and wiggled to be released. Alpha lifted Rex up so Cody could squirm down out of his lap.
Cody took off towards the stairs, thundering up with all the strength in his little legs. The older boys had started locking their doors as soon as Cody learned to walk, so he should be fine on his own up there for a bit.
Alpha settled back against the couch once again, Rex a warm weight against his chest. His hair was very soft, and he had a lot of it– dark wispy curls on his head and dark soft fuzz on the back of his neck and shoulders. The blue blanket he’d been sort of swaddled in had come untucked with all the movement, though somehow Rex had remained asleep. Maybe the harder it was to get a baby to sleep the harder it was to wake them up.
Alpha re-wrapped the blanket as best he could, pressed a kiss to the top of Rex’s head, and then grabbed his phone with the intention of doing some mindless scrolling while he waited for the sound of something breaking to echo down the stairs.

AKA Forced Adoption
Cody trudges into the room tired and pissed. He’s had enough of this day already and he can already see Bly’s stupid karking smirk. It almost makes him turn around. Almost. If it wasn’t for the ever growing weight on his back he would’ve about-faced and said kark it. His burden grumbles as his steps falter when Bly’s smirk sharpens. He knows the comment is coming, he knows, and if his arms weren’t full he would be preparing to deck him.
“We’re not keeping him, huh?”
“Shut up Bly.” A verbal jab is all he can do without jostling the cadet on his back. He strides past him to set their bleeding vod’ika on the bench.
“Not two hours ago you were saying he had to stay with his own squad. What changed your mind so fast?” Bly hands him a clean cloth and some gauze. He gets to work with a huff.
“His squad jumped him again.”
“They really don’t like that he’s blonde that much.”
“Apparently.”
“Wait. Why were you even heading back that way to begin with?”
“I looked him up. He’s been transferred thirteen times for infighting. It’s a wonder that the Kaminiis haven’t decommissioned him yet.”
“You were going back to grab him anyway.”
The statement is said with so much barely contained glee. He feels his eyebrow twitch twice before he can stop it and finishes wrapping up the cadet’s wounds. Heaving him back into his arms he strides past his infuriating brother once more. There’s no way to answer Bly’s statement, not without making the bastard even more smug. Besides he has to figure out how to get his vod’ika into a sleeping pod and then convince Alpha that the kid should be transferred into their squad.
“Kark you’re so kriffing soft. Who would have thought it possible. Kote has gone soft.”
“Shut Up Bly!”
Chapter 5 of The Inevitable War AU is up!
For the WIP ask, I want to know more about Fox shoots Rex. 😭
Thank you for asking about it 💗 Believe it or not, that one actually ends up being a fix-it, eventually. It's a canon divergence fic that takes place during the chip conspiracy arc, except that in this, Rex manages to break the Force Field Fives had set up to restrain him and Anakin just as the Coruscant Guards arrive. He puts himself in front of Fives, trying to deescalate the situation, but takes the hit for him instead.
The moment he realized that he shot Rex, and that his blaster wasn't on stun, Fox is devastated by what he's done. And it only gets worst, because when he sees Rex fall, Anakin just loses it and force-chokes Fox. The only reason he doesn't just kill him is Fives, who breaks his concentration, shouting about how they need to get help for Rex.
Thorn takes advantage of it to drag Fox away. Not being able to stay by Rex's side makes it even worse for him and he just breaks down. This time, Fives lives, because Anakin won't let anyone come near his trooper after what happened to Rex. It also leaves Fox fearing the repercussion the Coruscant Guard will ineluctably get for failing its mission. He's so shaken and scared that he doesn't even dare send in the report of how arc trooper Fives wasn't neutralized.
Thorn tries his best to comfort him, but it's not enough to counter how much he now hates himself. No one in the Guard has ever seen him being so miserable. And when Cody asks to see him, Fox is convinced it's to tell him Rex died because of him. However, things turn out better than he expected.
Since Rex wasn't the original target Fox was aiming at, the blaster shot wasn't fatal, even though it left him with a big injury. When Cody heard of Rex getting hurt, he came to see him, along with his General, and they found Fives waiting by the captain's side, who explained them all about the chips, and about Palpatine being the Sith Lord. Also, since Anakin's outburst had many witnesses, Obi-Wan now knows his padawan has gotten dangerously close to the Dark Side, as well as the rest of the Order, who then make sure he gets help, so Vader never comes to be.
So the war is over, and Fox gets to hug Rex and to apologize a thousand times for hurting him.
Prompt: “Don’t look”
Warnings: graphic descriptions of violence/slave torture
Read on AO3
While the tally marks on Rex’s armor are for his kills, the ones he now marks on the side of his boot are for the days that have passed since he and General Kenobi were taken to Kadavo. Crossing the other four marks with a shaky diagonal line to signify the end of the fifth day isn’t as satisfying as another enemy out of the way. He sighs as he sets down the little piece of graphite, letting his head hit the back of the bunk heavily like he’s too exhausted to hold it up himself.
Kadavo is a new type of hell. He thought cadet training was hard work but this… this is torture. The older troopers like to whisper about their “slavery to the Republic”, but those cushy Captains and Commanders haven’t been here. The clones might as well be house pets of the Republic compared to the horrors he’s seen at the Zygerrian market.

Hi! I'm sorta new to tumblr, so I hope I'm doing this right. Can I get a 'whatever' sickness prompt with Rex from tcw?
You did it just right! One story with Rex reluctantly accepting help coming right up.
Rex is an incredibly stubborn clone. He can ignore his own health in great extremes. But there is one symptom Rex cannot ignore.
Barfing.
Rex cannot handle vomit. Not when his brothers do it, not when he does it, not even when an animal does it. So when Kix normally has to drag Rex to the med bay, if the good Captain throws up he will show up of his own free will.
As he has this morning.
Kix gives him a wry smile. “I’ll get you a disposal unit, sir.”
Rex eyes the door mournfully, debating whether or not he can ride this one out on his own. Especially when he catches a whiff of the other unfortunate souls in med bay.
“I’ll give you a private room,” Kix adds.
Rex reluctantly surrendered to Kix’s tender care. But that does not mean Rex’s reluctance is over. Oh no, getting him in the med bay is only the first step in getting him to accept help. Rex was a self-sacrificing dikut, and since he was in a private room, Kix couldn’t see when he was getting queasy and needed another hypo.
True to form, when Kix comes to check on him, the captain is laying flat on his back. On the floor. He’d thrown up, tried to get a glass of water to rinse his mouth out, gotten extremely dizzy, ended up on the floor, and hadn’t been able to get up again.
Kix sighed. “This is what the call button is for, Rex.” He pressed it into Rex’s hand. “Use it.”
When Rex did use the call button, it was for a glass of water to rinse out his mouth and for Kix to bring him a new disposal unit.
Kix rolled his eyes. “Rex, you do not have to suffer in silence. If you even think you might vomit, call me. We have medicine to prevent that.”
Rex remained silent, further proof of his reluctance to show “weakness”.
Kix glared at him and Rex opened his mouth.
Kix didn’t let him speak. “The men don’t need me more. They’re getting better because they actually tell me all their symptoms.”
Kix stared pointedly while Rex desperately tried to avoid eye contact. At last, Rex cracked.
“Well, my nose has been a bit runny and my throat’s been sore this last week. My whole body ached, but I thought that was just the campaign. And last night I was freezing, so I might have a little fever.”
“39.5 celsius,” Kix corrected as he stood up. “You have Puffer Pig Flu, and if you’d come when your symptoms started, you would not be currently tossing your rations.”
“Thank you, Kix.”
Kix smiled. “Your welcome, ori’vod. Next time just let me help you sooner, okay?”
Rex nodded like a good little patient and Kix snorted. Like Rex was ever going to be anything but reluctant and stubborn about accepting help.
