Hey everyone, I don't know how pervasive this issue is and to what extent it's being discussed, but Canadian universities have been offering Palestinian academics a paid leave-of-abscence out of concern for our mental health, all verbally. Please be careful b4 accepting.

It's extremely suspect that universities are collectively taking part in this action, yet I'm hardly seeing folks talk about it. Universities here are notoriously anti-Palestinian too & awaiting an excuse to have us fired.

This is eerily similar to the experience of many disabled grad students who I know from the University of California--when the university doesn't want to give accommodations, they force the student to take a leave of absence, and eventually push them out of the program.

Palestinian and pro-Palestinian students and academics are being actively persecuted beyond all precedent at universities right now. Can confirm Palestinians who're losing family members are being institutionally terrorized in both the North America and Europe. Students have been suspended for putting up Palestine flags. Palestinians posting on social media about their families and neighbours are being reported and doxxed and getting death threats and their employers and supervisors refusing support them. A colleague of a friend who lost her entire family went to talk to the university counselor about her anger and grief and was immediately reported to the administration. An entire think tank was dissolved because of its members spoke in support of Palestine at a lecture. This level of witch hunting and purging hasn't been seen since the Red Scare. It's fucking terrifying. Please boost this.

Both the real life Osamu Dazai and Fyodor Dostoevsky drew.

Fyodor Dostoevsky was known to sketch in his manuscripts. Osamu Dazai painted with oils and was very interested in fine arts. Fun fact the main character in No Longer Human also wanted to go to art school and become an artist. There's actually a lot of mention of yozo liking making art in no longer human.

So of course i had to draw their twink versions painting together. <3
