Hey guys, I realized that the other post was long so Im making a small one! Im donating $5 of every new commission from now until December 25th! The money raised was going to go to @wheremyscalesslither​, but luckily she was able to raise enough money!

another says jaskier’s the one who saved geralt bc they saw jaskier throw a bottle at a guy for making a snarky comment about his boyfriend and jaskier’s definitely the scary one i swear it guys

others say jaskier is some sort of rich boy and geralt’s his bodyguard bc his family wouldn’t let him go to college for music unless he’s got a babysitter

in reality they’re both huge nerds who met at a Renaissance faire when history major geralt said jaskier’s hat is tacky and his doublet shouldn’t be That unbuttoned, i can see your undershirt and jaskier was like “why are you looking at my unbuttoned doublet, my eyes are up here oh no ur hot”

I see a lot of “yennefer made a choice and chose being transformed over having kids, then regretted her choice” and I think that… honestly really overestimates the amount of agency she had (or felt that she had)

At least according to the books, mages from Aretuza (where ugly/flawed girls go) must be transformed to hold court positions and all mages in general are forcibly sterilized. Taken in as young, gifted children, manipulated by their elders, taught that they have to do magic this way or risk going insane and/or being hunted down for being a rogue mage.

So… yes, she had a choice. In a sense. Making the choice that would allow her more (perceived) freedom serving a court and then realizing that that’s not how it actually worked makes it understandable to feel regret.

When undocumented immigrants are detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), they are held in detention until they go to trial where the court will decide whether they can stay in the country. In some cases, the immigration judge will let them go while they await trial if they first pay a bail bond. Bail is set at a legal minimum of $1,500, but can be much higher. The bond is meant as a deposit to ensure the accused will report to their trial. If they attend all of their court appointments, they can get the money back. But many people have trouble coming up with the funds. The average bail bond issued by the San Francisco immigration courts in 2014 was $3,411 and the average cost of bond in immigration courts nationally is $6,500. Bond amounts could be as high as $80,500 on Central District of California immigration bonds, according to a 2015 study by USC law professor Emily Ryo. Donating to community bond funds can immediately “lead to freedom,” she said. Community bond funds are charities, like RAICES, that use funds to post bail and provide legal defense for detained people.This is one of the fastest ways to reunite immigrants with their family, said Pilar Weiss, project director at the National Bail Fund Network.
