I read a post once that said there's a theory that maybe we ARE alone in the universe simply because the universe is so young. We might be the first ones! And what if that were true?
What if we become The Old Ones. What if we send ourselves far out into the universe? What if different species evolve from us? And what if we leave not because we destroyed our own world, but because our curiosity drove us to go as far as possible.
How many generations until Earth becomes a legend? How many species have legends of a world almost destroyed, until the poorest of the Old Ones banded together to save it from the greed of the rich overlords? How many people nesting in the stars would take the story of our planet's near destruction and use it to guide their way of life into something better than what we have now?
Imagine, space stations full of humanoid descendants of ourselves, all taught from wee infancy to serve the greater good, to have hope in even the most dire circumstances, because the Old Ones never gave up, so neither should their descendants.
Humans are space orcs is a fun concept but I think the defining thing about humanity isn't our brutality, but rather, our capacity for hope.
Danny didn’t want to be a crime lord.
In fact, he didn’t even know how he became one.
One minute he was a starving immortal unemployed teenager, and the next he was running a relatively respectable “crime” empire.
If he had to blame someone or something, he would blame his bleeding heart (and his empty stomach)
It all started when Clockwork dumped Danny in this new dimension with nothing but the clothes on his back. He had managed to get back the first couple weeks but he knew his luck wouldn’t last. One night, when he was walking back to his crappy apartment (that had “illegal” written all over it), he heard a scream of terror and pain. When he ran to check it out, he saw some drunk jackass behaving in “ungentlemanly” ways. He knocked the guy on his ass and helped himself to some of the guy’s cash (hey, strong morals had no place to talk when rent was due). The jackass’s girlfriend invited him over for dinner as thanks.
Well rumors spread, and SOMEHOW Danny became known as the guy who would “take care” of the more unsavory bunch of people in the neighbor for some cash or food. It later evolved to include information. And maybe a few “liberating” of some artifacts that definitely belong back in their home country.
Some of the older street kids joined in (and by the Ancients if these kids are joining in, Danny’s gonna make sure they are safe, be it with proper housing, equipment, money, and food)
Next thing Danny knows, he’s gotten his own “nickname”
Theoretically if you were trying to come up with a vampire who had the gift/ability/supernatural power to time travel, how would you do it and what would it look like?
Asking for, um, reasons.
I know it’s farfetched but Breaking Dawn gave us Benjamin who manipulates elements and Siobhan who (maybe?) manipulates reality so someone who can manipulate time might… be… feasible? If you ignore like, physics and all that. And this would be more of a plot device than a character anyway.
Alternatively a vampire who could grant wishes like a genie could also work. Or we could be super lazy and just make genies a thing in the Twilight universe. Esme finds an old lamp while going antiquing?
There’s a lot of Danny is related to x-villain or x-batfam member.
But I raise you, Danny is related to a “no-name” goon in Red Hood’s gang.
Imagine Danny accidentally killing the Joker and panic calling his criminal uncle asking for the best way to dispose of a body.
In this universe I imagine since Amity Park is a small town in the middle of nowhere, Danny has no clue who the Joker is and thinks he just killed a man.
Red Hood catches one of his men sneaking out of a meeting and when confronted the goon admits that he was going to help his nephew hide a body. Imagine Red Hood surprise when he sees it’s Joker’s body.
Red Hood falls in love.
Oh boy, I love this! :-)
Idk what to put here so uhmm please just take those *:・゚✧ sparkly *:・゚✧ renaissance Batman redesigns
Shazam: Not that I want more villains in the world but damn I wish some of mine would just, I don’t know, rob a bank or have a silly gimmick or something! Like geez.
Shazam: All of my villains want me dead or dissected! Just once I would like to stop a guy in a colourful costume with an silly name from stealing an artifact related to their gimmick.
The justice league: …………………
Shazam: And banter! I would kill to have some playful banter with my villains but none of them understand my references! They’re all either demons, aliens, old as balls or all three!! IT SUCKS!
The Justice League:……………….
Shazam: THEY THINK VINE IS JUST A PLANT!!!!!
Superman: Wait wait wait, what’s vine if not a plant???
Shazam: I didn’t even do anything to them they just hate me just because I exist or because of my proximity to the guy who gave me powers! I had no control over that!!
Shazam: If I got a list of terms and conditions that said accepting may result in literal demons that want to eat me and the guy who had the job first doing his best to see my head separated from my shoulders I might have reconsidered!!
Flash: Wait really???
Shazam: eh probably not, I can eat bullets now its pretty sick.
Shazam: Even if there were a list of terms and conditions I wouldn’t have read it lmao.
Batman: …Captain, did you not get a choice in your powers?
Zatanna: Hold on did you say demons are trying to EAT YOU?!?!?!
I'm craving a fic where Tim just... does not bring up the idea of Bruce still being alive.
Not out of spite. But more hindsight. This would probably be tagged Abusive Bruce Wayne. Or just Canon Bruce Wayne. I don't want him a caricature of abuse, because there were good times but also too much bad times that the kids 'have to' get hurt either as a collateral to Bruce venting, his willful neglect, or just being the first set of balls to be dropped at the first sign of priorities being decided.
They eventually adapt to a new normal. Tim takes on a new mantle, a bitter pill to swallow but something else was more bitter so that's. That. And Tim eventually find proof which makes his intuition more reality and actually starts actively covering it up so that the JL don't return Bruce. This would be so delicious character breakdown and analysis.
Like, there's so much potential here, in this very specific time for this very specific genre.
Gotham needs Batman, Batman needs Robin, and him and his siblings need for Bruce not to be there.
Maybe he initially tried to go on his quest, but something happened where Tim stays in Gotham just a little longer and observes something in the dynamics to make everything click.
A fully accurate, to-scale comparison of the Cullens’ heights
This is just marvelous :-)
Compositing this scene took me 15 hours, plus the 8 that took me to gather all of the pieces for Orlesian architecture. I’m adding a render breakdown below
