sorry professor I could not do this assignment. there are fictional characters in my head.
those posts about wanting kudos and comments on your fanworks vs creating for your own sake have gotten it all wrong. the TRUE purpose of fanworks is attracting people with great taste and luring them into your dms

Fuck
Hey I went to Finishing Your Wips island. Yeah nobody knew you there :/
Just a quick not friendly reminder: someone who has apologized for past mistakes, made amends for past actions, and clearly no longer holds past beliefs, is a far better person than one who digs up old dirt and uses a person's past that no longer exists against them.
i love minecraft its how you punch your friends from a thousand miles away and also give them little gifts
there is nothing more threatening then when a fanfic author hits you with a single :) in the authors note
All of these statements:
"C!Tommy is a badass: has great leadership qualities, is smarter and stronger than he looks, has survived immeasurable trauma and pulled himself out of it, takes initiative in solving problems, seeks to better himself with no prompting from others, etc."
"C!Tommy is soft: just wants peace and safety for him and his loved ones, loves animals and flowers and has an appreciation for things most would find disposable, gives his friends hugs and holds their hands, blames himself too much, has a habit of desperately looking for guidance and purpose, is easily malleable by people he looks up to, etc."
"C!Tommy is troublesome: tends to be reckless and impulsive, gets tunnel vision and is short sighted sometimes, is prone to anger and lashing out, has hurt people in the past, sometimes ignores the reality of a situation when too scared/conflicted to accept it, tends to be annoying and test people's limits, etc."
can and do coexist, and that's why I love him so much!! He's a soft ball of yarn covered in needles, he's a loud chihuahua who'll bite you and claw up your lawn and cuddle up next to you after, he's a menace and a protector and a victim and a fool. He's all of it at once. I don't want to take away any of it, because without his strong will he wouldn't have survived, and without his soft soul he wouldn't have lived, and without his flaws his life wouldn't be meaningful, because it's the flaws that make him feel human. He's an intricate dumbass, and I love him for it <3
I forgot I have to be active here so here’s my Twitter tutorial on how to draw folds I made a while back to help a friend!
fuck consistency in art !!! we ballin !!!!!! whatever comes out of my hand next is up to god !!!!
One of my favorite scenes from @kittydemon9000’s ninjago story on Ao3
Man, the longer I spend in this fandom, the more uncomfortable I get with asking-for-boundaries culture. I was just rotating that last night and trying to figure out why people popping up in TTS makes me want to snatch my headphones off my ears and enter a monastery and never go on the internet again, and I think I identified part of it?
Part of why I get so uncomfortable, I think, is that it gives the impression that the creator is responsible for what the fandom creates? They’re the arbitrator of the fandom now. Like anything they don’t specifically call out is definitely okay to do and show on main, and anything they do say is okay is definitely okay to show them, instead of there being a creator-fandom divide, and people being able to think for themselves about things and going “okay, this fic involves a creator being tortured to the point of a psychological break, maybe that one is for the fandom and don’t show it to the creator”. People asking creators (who let me remind you are frequently not old enough to drink in the states and often barely old enough to vote) to weigh in on esotera instead of thinking for themselves about what is and isn’t for public consumption.
And like in a particularly painful stream of my memory, Tubbo was being asked questions where he’d be a jerk if he said no (asking about fictives and people with delusions that they were him, so stuff outside of their control), so of course he said yes that was within his boundaries— but how pressured into that might he feel and how actually comfortable is he with that? No idea!? But people think it’s okay to show it to him now cause it’s “within his boundaries”. Or a different time people were asking questions with clear intent to trap him/get him to say that things weren’t okay (people tattling on cuddling art on twitter), and while he said that he was okay with anything that wasn’t NSFW, the person was clearly looking for a clip to use to tell people to stop, hoping that he’d be uncomfortable, and like. AHHHH.
Like a, how is that actually respectful to the creator? And related to the “why are you bringing this to their attention they don’t need to know,” is it actually any of the creator’s business if someone’s writing agre vent fic for an audience of fifty subs on Ao3? Like just think for yourself about if that’s okay or not and if you come down on yes, tag it so that people don’t have to see it if they don’t want to, that seems to be FAR more sane than showing up in TTS asking someone who plays video games for a living how they feel about kidfic or gore art.
AND that’s not even getting into the issue of people asking creators to weigh in on stuff they have no idea about— half these creators are moving in such different online circles that they still think Harry Potter is pog, why do you think they’re going to have a nuanced take on pronoun discourse or trans hcs or QPPs?
Anyways AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH TTS is of the devil and we need to stop asking creators to cross over the fandom-creator boundary.
"i can probably get this fun new fic idea written out as a coherent oneshot in a few days, and then afterwards i can get back to writing my other project(s)" <- this is the devil speaking through you
terrible news. the exact fanfiction i want has not magically appeared and i may have to write it myself. more at 11
Every time I see someone try to lean into the softness of the crimeboys ending it just makes it feel more cruel.
I see something like This
And it makes me think about how c!Wilbur leaving wasn't some quiet inevitablity or a sudden tragedy that nobody could have stopped, it was a choice.
Wilbur wasn't taken, not by tragedy and not by a person, he left. He left Knowing that the people he cared about weren't safe and weren't okay. And then he tried to present That as softness. Not just to us the audience, to the narrative, but to tommy.
And that's what needles me about people trying to present it this way, about it being presented as necessary and soft and healing.
Because wilbur's allowed to prioritize himself. he's allowed to say that he doesn't want to stay, that he doesn't want to be there to protect tommy or tubbo or fundy or anyone else, but he can't have his cake and eat it too. He doesn't get to make the choice to leave them at the mercy of an abuser and serial killer and expect them to be there when He's ready to have a relationship with them. He doesn't get to avoid being honest, to avoid talking about it at all, until he's skipping town to a new country and expect the trust to be there when He wants it.
Wilbur is under no obligation to stay, but tommy is under no obligation to forgive him. Wilbur is under no obligation to protect tommy from a monster, but choosing to abandon tommy with his serial killer abuser on the loose utilizing the power of a god Should erode whatever foundation that relationship had left.
It's not Fair to expect tommy to forgive him, that it's taken for granted that his trust doesn't have to be earned or nurtured. It's not fair that he's been abandoned and left behind and hurt time and time and time again and yet he always forgives, perpetually waiting for the chance to Earn being loved and being left behind anyways.
Letting his anger and sadness at wilbur go because there's nothing he can ever do to have his feelings respected wouldn't be Healthy. It's not the soft ending where everything's allowed to be okay. It'd be a link in a long pattern of unhealthy behavior.
Phil didn't have to apologize, in fact he told tommy to his face that he earned the trauma he gave him by being selfish and tommy not only Let him, but he tried to follow Phil's advice to Fix himself. Because he Needs somebody, Anybody to be there.
He refused to let tubbo apologize after exile because he saw Himself as a bad person, because he Believed that he wasn't worth saving. He held himself responsible for betraying techno before doomsday even started, despite techno being the one who lied to Him. Even if he'd been angry, even if he'd recognized that techno hurt him at first, he quietly let that anger go because techno was Never going to acknowledge that.
He's full of abandonment issues a mile deep and desperately Desperately wants to hold on to the people he cares about, but time and time again he's nobody's priority. Nobody will choose him no matter how desperately he needs it.
This will not teach him to not have abandonment or attachment issues, this will not make the genuine threat of being kidnapped and tortured for eternity go away.
The only thing worse than Wilbur knowingly choosing to leave him when he's in This vulnerable of a position, without even talking it through with him, is the idea that Tommy's not even allowed to be angry about it. That even if he Is angry now he just doesn't have the Perspective to know that it's a good thing yet and he'll Learn eventually.
Just like he Learned that he was selfish all along for wanting to protect his home and friends. Just like he Learned that he was an annoying child that just needed to be fixed.
Nobody has to put in the Work to earn Tommy's love and trust, he just has to realize that he never had the right to be upset in the first place.
Lava will break your fall as long as it's deep enough, if it isn't you'll still go crunch when you hit the bottom
Igloos can sometimes have a basement underneath the carpet in which you'll find a villager, a zombie villager as well as a weakness potion, golden apple, some potted plants and some additional village loot
If a villager is struck by lightning it'll become a witch, if a pig is struck by lightning it'll become a zombie piglin. You can induce this with both a lightning rod or a channeling trident
A charged creeper (creeper + lightning) will cause any skeletons, zombies and creepers killed by it to drop their heads
If a creeper is killed by a skeleton it'll drop a music disc, you can do this by trapping a creeper and a skeleton in separate boats and standing behind the creeper (out of range)
Bonemealing small flowers will spawn copies of them around it (in bedrock) and drop the item for big flowers
Small dripleaves can't be duplicated using bonemeal, the only ways to get more is to find them or to trade them from a traveling merchant. If you bonemeal them you'll get big dripleaves (which will then get taller)
Sea grass is used to breed turtles and can be gotten using shears
You can bonemeal neverrack inside the mushroom forests to turn it into the coloured mycelium
You can make an automated farm for carrots, potatoes, radishes and wheat using two farmer villagers and trapping one behind a hopper minecart
Using a stonecutter is a better way to make stairs and is fairly inexpensive
You can make stone generators by having lava fall onto flowing water (more than one block high) which isn't that useful on its own but can be used in passive xp farms using skulk and moss farms and probably others as well
Copper oxidises faster around (within 4 blocks) fully oxidised copper and slower around less oxidised copper, the least oxidised one has to oxidise before any others within range will
Pistons will move up to sixteen blocks in any direction and slime blocks will stick them together
Water flows for seven blocks (eight incl source)
If you rename a mob in a bucket in an anvil the mob will have that name without using a nametag
When caving you should bring some wood with you, and maybe a crafting table or two
When caving if you always place torches on one side of the cave you'll be able to retrace your steps with ease as you'll be able to follow torches on the opposite wall home
or, a list of things about Minecraft that took me forever to figure out, that might not be obvious to new players, or that I just found helpful
Equal parts gravel and dirt can be crafted into coarse dirt, and using a hoe on coarse dirt changes it to normal dirt, so you can effectively change gravel into dirt if you have at least 2 dirt blocks with you
I know the game technically teaches you this BUT: you can cure zombie villagers by hitting them with a splash weakness potion and then feeding them a golden apple. This is an easy way to populate a village you built yourself, I've done it in all my survival worlds. The easiest way to protect newly potioned and appled villagers is to dig a long trench, get the zombie villager to chase you, circle the pit until the villager falls in, and cover the pit so no mobs attack the zombie villager when it changes into a villager.
Killing fish is a pretty good way to get bones. I don't need a skeleton farm because automatic fish farms are probably among the easiest automatic farms to build
drinking milk stops status effects
Tiny slimes can't damage you. You can keep them as pets.
The fastest transportation method is, for some reason, a boat on blue ice. Many horses are faster than powered rails.
Suspicious stew can be crafted, even though it's not part of the creative inventory or recipe book, using the normal recipe for mushroom stew+one flower. Allium gives a couple seconds of fire resistance, poppy gives night vision, cornflower gives jump boost, blue orchids or dandelions give saturation, and oxeye daisy gives regeneration.
A lot of wooden items—fences, doors, bows, fishing poles, and so on—can be used as fuel in furnaces. It's not efficient but it's a good way to get rid of excess items
Sneak to add blocks to the side of a furnace or chest directly. Do y'all have any idea how long this took me to figure it out. (This is also how you add a hopper to a chest.)
gold or iron armor can be melted down into gold and iron nuggets
The fortune enchantment affects sapling drops from trees and crop harvests.
Early in game, smelting copper into ingots is one of the best ways to get XP fast.
Fishing odds are slightly better when it's raining.
When you first get a full set of diamond armor your first instinct may be to wear it on a quest into the Nether. Don't. Take a couple stacks each of gravel/sand and any stone and run repeated suicide missions until you've made a stone shelter around your portal and paths across surrounding lava lakes.
More nether navigation tricks: drop columns of gravel down precipices in the Nether and then add cobblestone to the side of the gravel columns to build stairs from the top down
If your nether portal goes out while you're in the Nether, a Ghast fireball hitting the inside of the frame will relight it. But please don't get caught in the Nether without flint and steel
Lava breaks your fall much like water does, and you can't drown in it, though it's very hard to move in. Fire resistance potions will let you exploit both of these things.
Fill a basalt delta with three- or four-block-high towers of whatever block you like, two blocks apart, in staggered rows. Occasionally place a block on the side of the towers' top blocks. This won't stop magma cubes from spawning, but it will stop the large ones from moving effectively.
Using silk touch to grab the red and blue "turf" layers in Nether forests lets you farm both kinds of giant nether fungi by bone-mealing mushrooms, though the turf colors and mushroom colors have to match up. The growth is unaffected by obstructions above and the fungus "foliage" blocks never decay like leaves do. I have no idea who thought that was a good idea. BUT doing this repeatedly will eventually completely obstruct the "sky", protecting you from Ghasts
Nether fortresses and bastions are found along a "grid" pattern, so when you find one nether fortress you can travel in a straight line to find another fortress or bastion. Villages do the same thing, except when they don't. (Really, how villages spawn is a total mystery to me.)
Bonemealing moss will straight up convert surrounding stone into moss. I have no idea why. Since bone meal can be automated using a dropper iirc, this seems like it could lead to some weird redstone contraptions.
Horses can survive falls that would seriously damage a player.
Animals can and will climb ladders. I don't know why. But if you push a sheep or cow toward a ladder, they will often automatically ascend it. I've used this fact for automatic farms before.
You can name literally anything using an anvil, even if you can't repair or enchant it
Soul sand placed underwater creates bubble columns that shoot you upward. Magma blocks create bubble columns that pull you down. You can breathe in the bubble columns.
Night vision potions, if you've never used one, will also let you see the ocean floor.
A water source block in an "ocean" biome will spawn ocean animals, whether there is room for them there or not. If you change a section of ocean into a one-block-deep pond, you'll still get fish in there
you probably won't like this one but. keep a notebook with the coordinates of important spots it is SO HELPFUL
I'll add more when I think of them. please note that I play bedrock and some of these might not work in java
Man I can't wait till they add this lil guy to Minecraft
i re-teach my brain this every day
guys this is gonna sound embarrassing but i just found out the name of one of my classmates two months before the school year ends.. he's my friend like he came to my birthday but i didn't knew his name
do you think it's possible for a girl who has as few tabs open as possible and a boy who can't stop opening new tabs to on purpose kiss
Story idea:
Two heroes are investigating each others civilian identities because they believe them to be a villain but they end up falling in love with each other the more suspicious evidence they get. The villain is a shared acquaintance that through the process of the story finds out both their secret identities and tries to get them together. They are suffering.
Me when I when Life when I me when- yes.
Man, that flashback episode really reminded me of all the things I hate about Zoox and Devo.
(Which speaks to the McElroys bc I'm pretty sure I am supposed to, if not hate, at least dislike these aspects of their characters)
For Zoox - It's mostly just that he's very callous and easily offended? Which to be fair to him, he's basically a toddler so it's pretty understandable. Just sometimes it rubs me the wrong way, like when he was talking to Hermine about Finneas' lantern and being offended when she tries to keep, what is ostensibly, the corpse of her friend that, to him, is just a lantern with no meaning ascribed to it other than it is his.
My main problem is that this characterisation seems mostly incidental and is framed as positive and at other times he seems rather willing to give things to other people - not a greedy guy for the most part which made the whole thing seem a bit weird to me, but it could just have been a tonal disparity.
Devo is just an asshole. He constantly explodes at people and blames them for things that aren't really their fault (example: Finneas, the sallow) and doesn't provide any constructive feedback alongside his complaints of other people (again: sallow). He's also kind of a hypocrite in that he gets easily offended at things and also seems surprised at people being hostile to him despite his poor treatment of them (see: the bar fight, enlisting the biggest baby). He doesn't really apologise and when he does I feel as if it's often about the wrong thing, just the wrong time or he makes the situation more about him. The apologising thing might just be something he learned from the church, though.
On the subject of the church I feel a large disconnect between the story Devo is telling and the story we are seeing (specifically the lantern room), but I think that might just be due to Travis and Griffin not really discussing it properly between them. I got the impression the lantern memory was worse in Travis's mind than it turned out to be, it was still bad, don't get me wrong, but Guidance was being kind of a good teacher the entire time (as in: there were no threats or punishments, just gentle encouragement - it was a discussion). Which isn't to say I like her - she's a gaslighting, lovebombing bitch. (Specifically: when they talked to her for their contract)
I honestly have no complaints about Amber. She's a well-written, well rounded character who is consistent in both her flaws and her strengths. She's a badass woman who lived through the apocalypse, I don't know what to tell you.
I'm not going to lie: I really don't like Devo. And I really preferred the scientist over him. (He was fun. Hope he shows up again)
But also Devo is somehow my favourite of the three and I'm excited to see how Devo manages his anger issues (which he's acknowledged he has! love that for him) and further develop as a character. As well as potential for seeing what the Church/Hand Of Benevolence is really like (I want them to be really shitty).
All of this to say that a lot of people like this exist and props to Travis and Clint in making me have lots of conflicting feelings about Devo and Zoox
