These Stickers Are Edited Photos Of The Keffiyeh My Best Friend Gave Me Soon After Things Started Up

I added a new pixel art person (on the left), found here. I'm also in the process of filling in some additional simple pixel art designs to make a pack of tinier stickers, which should hopefully be up sometime this week. The black and red dresses are my attempt at making pixel art of tatreez embroidery (the scarves are of course supposed to be keffiyehs). I've been told by my husband that these little characters are "slightly creepy looking" haha, if you don't like them I have plenty of other stuff that looks very different in my full shop here.

As usual, ALL PROCEEDS from my designs are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining safely in America until things calm down and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.

I'm not really sure how a fundraiser like this should be considered under the strike, I'm going to keep sharing my stuff and leave it to your discretion when/if you want to purchase anything this week.

Palestine - The Land of Sad Oranges

The Jaffa orange holds a lot of symbolism for the Palestinian struggle. This varietal was developed in the 19th century and named for the city Jaffa, where it was first produced for export. It was a major export of the region until the industry declined under British rule and disruption from WWII. Finally the establishment of Israel caused irreparable damage as groves were seized or destroyed by settlers. Israel took over production on seized land but never achieved the same success with the crop, and what remained of Palestine suffered ongoing violence and blockades preventing the industry from further success. The Jaffa orange has remained a symbol of the Palestinian homeland, most notably in Ghassan Khanafani's short story The Land of Sad Oranges.

This orange with a Palestinian flag for a leaf can be found here on shirts, stickers, mugs and more. ALL PROCEEDS from Palestine related sales will go to my Palestinian best friend to help him bring his girlfriend over to America. Any left over will be used to help his other loved ones around the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. The poem fragment I used here is from "Silence for Gaza" by Mahmoud Darwish (the poem is from 1973 but could have been written yesterday, I recommend you check it out). Stickers with this sort of vintage scrapbooking look seem popular right now, so I wanted to make a version for Gaza for my fundraiser. Products with this design can be found here.

Palestine Sunbird

As usual ALL PROCEEDS will go to my Palestinian best friend to help his loved ones through this war and help his girlfriend afford to join him in America. He is the sweetest person in the world (and a truly brilliant scientist) and he deserves to be able to focus on grad school as best he can through this awful genocide without financial stress on top of the emotional toll. I just added a few new versions of my Palestine sunbird:

This is what the real bird looks like:

The Palestine sunbird is a beautiful little passerine found around parts of the Middle East and Africa. They look somewhat like giant hummingbirds (though that is entirely convergent evolution, hummingbirds are actually in the same clade (Strisores) as potoos and frogmouths and stuff, which I find very surprising). These little guys were adopted as Palestine's national bird in 2015. Palestine Designs

Here is a small sample of the designs I am raising money with. I have 55 works in my collection so far with more being added constantly (there are two waiting for Redbubble's approval right now). I'm making a point of keeping a broad variety of styles so there's something for everyone.

One of you reached out to me and requested puzzles for some of my designs. At the time I added the one on the left since it was near a large enough resolution already. I don't usually do puzzles since Redbubble demands super high resolution and is also really glitchy about fitting the images, but there's plenty of other things on there like shirts, stickers, notebooks, etc.

I will warn you that for the woman in keffiyeh print you may be able to tell that the scarf outline is digitally drawn and doesn't look exactly the same as the lines on the original print when viewed on a high resolution product like this. I think it still looks pretty good though.
