Three hours to go until the ceasefire. I'm with my Palestinian friend at his lab, we're just working and waiting. I'm incredibly proud of the strength and composure he's shown in the face of this genocide, he's the most amazing person. Let's hope the ceasefire lasts, and the West Bank gets a reprieve soon too. Here's a poster I'm liking right now, with a reminder to feel free to print and use my stuff for anything so long as you are not profiting from it:
I want to thank everyone who has supported my fundraising shop. We received so much support, it's been so heartwarming! I really hope we get to spot some of my shirts, pins, etc at protests and rallies in the future. Even if the ceasefire holds this is far from over, we need to keep the pressure on!
I will continue to run this shop for the foreseeable future, there's so much damage to recover from in Gaza and Lebanon and the raids and economic restrictions in the West Bank are showing no signs of stopping. I would like to help him support his family as long as I can, and if that ever becomes less necessary I'll switch the shop income over to a relevant charity of his choice. For now, here is a selection of some of my popular designs:
You can find all of my work in my shop HERE. You can filter by product with the menu on the left side of the page or go here to browse by design.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped out! We really appreciate the support.
Does anyone know where this quote comes from originally? I see variations of it around a lot and a lot of disagreement on the source. I incorporated it to my latest design shown above, found here.
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my work are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining safely in America until it's safe for her to travel back home and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids in the West Bank (this has unfortunately hit his family quite hard) and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.

I try to make a wide variety of styles so there's something for everyone. You can find my full shop here. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!
My best friend is an absolutely brilliant scientist and all around amazing person. He genuinely tries to help everyone he meets. He'll interrupt a lunch to go buy lunch for the homeless people too. He's been involved in activism for more causes than I can count, often for things (like LGBTQ+ issues) that don't affect him personally, just because it's the right thing to do. He takes care of everyone else even when he doesn't have much for himself.
He is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family all around the Levant are being hurt either directly or financially by the war. Those of you who have been following this account know that for a little over a week now I have been adding Palestine related designs to my Redbubble shop. ALL PROCEEDS from these will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.
Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far!

Edit: It's back
I just received notice that one of my most popular works, this dove, has been taken down for review. It should hopefully be back up by tomorrow, this was likely just triggered by my updating the product description. Every single work I've made related to Palestine has needed manual review at least once, it's default for "controversial" topics. In the mean time I have plenty of other designs in my shop here including a few variations on this one.

He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.
Here are some examples of some of my other designs that should still be available:
Designs are available on shirts, stickers, bags, pins, notebooks and a bunch of other things. To see a design on other products click on the display product and scroll down or go here to browse by design. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!
Two new designs for my fundraising shop, found here and here. The first is the word فلسطين (Palestine in Arabic) edited into a simple open source dove design. The second is a vintage photo of stained glass windows in a mosque in Bethlehem (West Bank) from the Library of Congress. The original is pretty faded and dull, I messed with the saturation and contrast to make it pop more for a sticker design. It's pretty low resolution so I only have it available on stickers and a couple other small products. I really love this photo, it looks like it would make a great metal album cover (kinda reminds me of Sick With Bloom).

When I asked my friend about birds from his home the first thing that came to mind for him was the bulbul.
This little guy is the white-spectacled bulbul, a medium-sized passerine described as "conspicuous and noisy". They're common around Palestine, my friend has many fond memories of them. I have just added this drawing of one holding a Palestinian flag to my shop.
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from this design will go to my Palestinian best friend to help him afford to bring his girlfriend over to America and to help his other loved ones around the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. You can find the design here printed on a lot of different products.
You can find all my designs here. Redbubble will display with a random product, click on it to see all product options (shirts, stickers, notebooks, etc).
Also funny story when I first looked up bulbuls my friend wasn't checking too closely what photo I had up on my phone and I spent a long time believing the red-whiskered bulbul was from Palestine (it's not, it's from south Asia). So much so that I actually drew the wrong bird at first. Oops. So, I probably won't sell this guy because he doesn't make a lot of sense as a symbol for Palestine (maybe I'll repurpose him into an unrelated design after the war) but here you go, solidarity for Palestine from this lovely little tropical frugivore:
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped out so far, I really appreciate you. My friend is hunting now for a new living space to accommodate his partner when she gets here. Housing as a grad student is always a nightmare, I'm so grateful that you all are helping with the deposit. My friend is also doing his best to figure out help for his family back home (a chaotic situation, just getting in contact with some relatives has been a mess so far). I'll try to add some updates as things progress (as usual, vague to protect their privacy).
A few of the designs from my fundraiser. All of the ones I'm sharing today adapt older art. From the top: an edited Henry Meunier print (using a picture of my own keffiyeh), a Warhol inspired design (the keffiyeh comes from an open source photo, the eyes from a vintage movie poster), an edited vintage pulp comic, and at the bottom two Julie de Graag prints.
As usual EVERYTHING I RAISE is for my best friend to support his friends and family in Gaza and the West Bank (and sometimes surrounding areas in the Levant suffering collateral damage).
I have 178 designs and I add more whenever I have a new idea (also open to suggestions). You can find these designs in my shop HERE. To see a design on different products click on the display product and scroll down or go here to browse by design. Most designs are available on a wide range of products (shirts, stickers, pins, hats, notebooks, etc). The cat on the orange background shown here is my most popular t-shirt design.
Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far! We greatly appreciate all the support, and we hope you are enjoying your purchases.
A selection from the things I have made these past couple weeks. My best friend is Palestinian and ALL PROCEEDS from these designs will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.
All these and a few more available here. All designs are available on multiple products (shirts, notebooks, pins, etc), the ones shown are just examples. Anything not showing up in the shop is being reviewed by Redbubble and should be up soon.
Thank you to everyone who has helped so far. This friend means a lot to me and anything to make this horrible situation a little easier for him is greatly appreciated.
This is an edit of a public domain panel from an old comic. I added the keffiyeh. You can find it here.
ALL PROCEEDS from my work are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining in America until it's safe for her to travel back home (at this point she's hoping to head back soon-ish as her city has been somewhat safe recently) and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. The illegal detentions and economic crisis in the West Bank have hit his family the hardest so far. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.
Some example products (I think this one will be particularly good for stickers and posters):

The pinkwashing of the genocide in Palestine is ridiculous. First of all gay rights is not an excuse for killing little kids, at all. Beyond that though, opinions on homosexuality are far from a monolith in the region. My Palestinian best friend and his very traditional, religious family are not homophobic in the slightest. My own white American family took decades longer to come around on gay rights than they did. Would it have been okay to bomb a large portion of the south in the 90s? Should my husband have been killed as a child for being born into a very standard (and very homophobic) sect of Christianity around then? Large swaths of Palestine are roughly where America was not so long ago. Laws are ambiguous (because occupation), some people are cool with gay people, some aren't, many don't really have an opinion. Some areas have a visible queer subculture, some don't. It varies, just like everywhere.
NONE OF THIS could justify the current violence (and PLENTY of queer Palestinians are being killed right now), but I think it's particularly absurd because Palestine really isn't that different than we were not so long ago, and most of us can agree the indiscriminate slaughter of Texans a few decades back would have been bad. Israeli propaganda would have you believe every Arab wants all gay people dead. This is ridiculous.
For more on gay rights in Palestine look at Al Qaws.
In light of this I have added this simple design to my shop (click here), I've seen a few people here expressing they want something like this for protests.
ANY AND ALL PROCEEDS from Palestine related sales through my Redbubble shop will go to my Palestinian best friend (same one mentioned above) to help him bring his girlfriend over to America. Any left over will be used to help his family/other loved ones affected by the war.
Starving grad student running a small Redbubble shop (initially for side income, now for fundraising for my Palestinian friend). Made this blog to share my designs, found here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/fairiedance/shopMy best friend (an absolutely brilliant scientist and compassionate social activist, seriously the best person ever) is a Palestinian grad student studying in America, and a lot of his friends and family are being affected by the genocide in Gaza and the fallout in the West Bank and surrounding areas. I have started selling Palestine related designs in my shop. EVERYTHING I RAISE he sends to his loved ones to help in various ways as the situation progresses.Designs not related to Palestine have been removed from my shop for now (probably for good at this point).
