i love when ppl write Hawks to be a little bit morally corrupt. like cmon, this man CANONICALLY has a restaurant that he takes ppl to when he wants information out of them. He's gonna lie... maybe even a lot.

The True Villains

I can't do that though, that makes for a boring story! The stories people want to read are the stories with angst! Drama! Heartbreak anf pain! Not the ones with a happy ending so soon! We need hurting, we need more.

We'll make them fight the villains, we'll make them choose to save the world or their lover, we'll make them suffer. And in the end, we'll convince them that they're the good guys, convince them it was all destiny, that they aren't puppets in our own plays. Not because they're bad characters or we hate them, quite the opposite! We love making them hurt, because no one realizes we're the true villains in their fairytale.
