1. Stop donating. It’s a volunteer organization so boycotting doesn’t hurt them financially, donations do. It’s a running joke in fandom how quickly the goal is met two, three times over whenever donations are asked for; the joke needs to stop running. Your money will endorse an organization that condones genocide.
2. Contact AO3 Support and Feedback and OTW’s Contact Us to voice your displeasure against this. It’s hypocritical of them to rally against censorship, then proceed to the same.
3. Spread the word. I’ll put my message under the cut as a template of sorts.
It is disheartening to see an organization often lauded for its staunch stance on censorship turn face and commit the same act they spent years condemning. Is it the proper labeling of Israel as an oppressive colonial state that bothers you, or is it your apathy towards Palestinians being ethnically cleansed that made you fire a volunteer for their vocal support of Palestine. Despite what this organizations claims, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is not antisemitic; the phrase calls for the liberation of Palestine and for the corresponding land to belong in rightful hands. Shame on you for choosing the side of colonialism. Ao3 was a beacon for many, and now it’s tainted. Congratulations, OTW, you’ve transformed from an organization for creative expression to one that condones the brutal deaths of innocents.
Op where’s the flipping essay??!?!?!??! We need this!!!
high school musical 2 is a thinly veiled metaphor for white privilege. employment and education opportunities are handed to troy, a white boy, on a silver platter despite his own protests that “i don’t think i’m qualified”, solely because of a rich white girl’s interest in him. his friends, people of colour, are overlooked for similar opportunities despite having the same skill set as troy himself. when troy and gabriella break the country club staff rules, it is gabriella, a filipino girl, who is punished for the breaches while troy receives nothing but a verbal scolding every time. in this essay i will-
So, Aggretsuko season 2. We had some good things, some bad, but overall enjoyable & I liked it! That said, here are my thoughts:
I’m so glad that Kabae was given more depth this season! I liked her character in season 1 but was slightly disappointed that she wasn’t given nuance like some of the other characters in the first season, but here she shined & I’m so happy. #KabaeBestMom2019
Anai was… honestly uncomfortable. I’ve dealt woth people like that before (& I’ve even been that person, but thankfully someone told me I was wrong almost immediately), they are not good for a work environment & I genuinely think he should have been fired. His redemption was too sudden & barely explored in any way & that doesn’t sit well w/ me :/
Next, Tadano. Most of the fans love him, but there is a growing group that see him as creepy & possessive. That isn’t the case. Speaking as someone who’s been in Retsuko’s place, they were both in the wrong because they didn’t communicate properly. Yes, they split up because they had different goals in life, but I feel a bigger aspect of them breaking up is that they didn’t communicate well, which is a very important part of any relationship, romantic or not. Tadano should have paid better attention to Retsuko’s reactions to being in such a public light and her feelings in general instead of assuming what he wanted was the right thing, and Retsuko should have talked about her feelings with Tadano from the beginning instead of bottling them up because she has a voice in her relationships. She’s scared to express herself outside of death metal for my next problem…
Finally, here we are. Retsuko’s mom. She is… A lot. Retsuko’s mom brings up a lot of bad memories because I have a father similar to her, demanding and furious when they don’t get their way, while also being infantalizing and taking away freedom of choice. She’s also invasive, both literally and figuratively, and doesn’t respect her daughter as an individual, talking over her and assuming she knows best. It’s played for laughs, but this is a really negative relationship and is what molds anxiety and self-doubt in a person, especially during childhood, and it’s a large contributor to how Retsuko is today.
On a more positive note, I did like the arc between Gori & Washimi. It shows that even best friends can have differing viewpoints about subjects, and while they can be petty about it, willing to put aside those differences for the sake of someone else.

So glad I still stay here just to know that I'm not totally inept with geography.
hold on a fucking second. delaware is a state?? i thought it was a river? or is the river more important than the state? why don't i know this? (i should mention i don't like in america, i'm just confused)
there is delaware (state) and delaware (river)
both are equally strange
the state is a tiny little cryptid thing
the rive is a monster that spans new york, pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. also washington crossed it once and that was like kinda a big deal i guess. like crossing the rubicon in rome.
the state tries to me more important with its “im the first state!!!” bs (seriously its even on the fucking license plates) but we all know. its the river.
