Mathematician. Leader. Heroine. Remembering Hidden Figure Katherine Johnson
Tonight, count the stars and remember a trailblazer.
We’re saddened by the passing of celebrated #HiddenFigures mathematician Katherine Johnson. She passed away at 101 years old.
An America hero, Johnson’s legacy of excellence broke down racial and social barriers while helping get our space agency off the ground.
Once a “human computer”, she famously calculated the flight trajectory for Alan Shepard, the first American in space.
And when we began to use electronic computers for calculations, astronaut John Glenn said that he’d trust the computers only after Johnson personally checked the math.
As a girl, Katherine Johnson counted everything. As a mathematician, her calculations proved critical to our early successes in space travel.
With slide rules and pencils, Katherine Johnson’s brilliant mind helped launch our nation into space. No longer a Hidden Figure, her bravery and commitment to excellence leaves an eternal legacy for us all.

the nastiest thing about the breonna taylor decision is you can tell there was some fucking cost-benefit analysis that went into the decision. they started preparing for how to crack down on civil unrest before the decision was even announced, which tells me that they had a choice between accountability and spending the foreseeable future beating protestors in the streets. they obviously thought the latter was preferable to letting even one officer take responsibility for murdering an innocent woman in cold blood. what sucks even more to me is probably how easily they made that decision. it’s like our public services are only accountable to capital, and not the public, or something

Hey, so umm... there is this fanfic I really like. It’s called the “Fix It Series” on AO3 by End_before_grace, and it’s like surprisingly amazing. It starts off just a bunch of smut, but it gets interesting later on, and it’s worth getting into, and I really do like it. If you wanna read it I do recommend it, and they’re making a sequel series to it I think, and just AAAAAAAHHHHHHH, I love it. I just wanted to get this out, and if you do ever read it you can thank me for the material. Oh also side note, Markiplier is a main-character some how.

Okay I don’t see a lot of people talking about it, so imma do it myself. Here is a non-spoiler way of talking about a Visual Novel I just played called “Winds of Change” by: Klace *ahem* S o... the art is amazing, and the story line while yes has a few issues, aren't that big, and the choices you can make are actually impactful to the story, while yes in general the same endings will play you can either have more characters, or less depending on how you played, not to mention the weight they have about such choices, plus the soundtrack is amazing. They leave some of the music on repeat in the background and while you can tell it never gets old especially when the story is so in your face, and I a heartless soulless husk of a being hasn't cried since Feb. 15, 2016 I actually almost cried at the end, of this game, and knowing me that is a feat. And while I can go back and replay it to get "better" choices, I think the ending i got was poetic and just to the characters that were apart of it. I get that the style won't be for everyone I EXTREMELY recommend this game to all furries, even if you aren't one it's a game you should give a shot it has given a time I wont forget soon, and I hope that the day I forget any of it is the day I die. Plus the 1-1 with the different characters are all natural and not really forced in my opinion so it leads to great chemistry with all of them. Anyways that’s just me. It’s like 25$ on Steam so if you can buy it, I hope you have a great as a time as I did while playing it.

I've come to make an announcement: @nickelodeon is a company that killed a great show and should revive Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with @netflix just like they did with Glitch Techs! I love Lumity just like everyone else, but people gotta start using the right things for Amity, because I’ve seen WAY too many lesbian flags, like yes that’s great that they are getting in the spotlight that isn’t ew, but I thought Amity was Bisexual and not Lesbian. Like I know that we’ve only seen her be a disaster with Luz, but if she was confirmed Bi, then use the Bi flag, I’m sorry, but I just needed to get this off my chest. I just realized this dude was studying Mega-evolution the entire time in Black/White, and Black/White 2. It explains his hair for starters, and also his constant talk about trying to achieve a Pokemon’s greatest power, and in the end realizing that through bonding with them is what makes them stronger, and only seeing that through a scientific pov, and not an emotional pov shows how he truly sticks to his own IDEALS, and TRUTHS. Anyways don’t know if I’m late, but just needed to get this out there.

Ya’ know how Katara (Better then Pakku) can keep up with Aang’s and Sokka’s antics? Look at Wang Fire, and when Aang was the old dude I like to believe that she can also fully lie to Toph due to being able to be completely calm in such situations, and a great hi jinks partner, but chooses not to because Katara would feel guilty for being able to do so. Tl:Dr Katara can lie just as good as Azula and get by Toph’s seismic sense.
