[HAPPY END] Chapter 1 - Page 1
The moment when everything changed
4/6 of my PearlescentMoon Double Life Thumbnail series for my Illustration class. Episode 4 has the most difficult pose of all the thumbnails (as my professor would fondly remember), but I love the final result.
Each illustration is sketched in red colored pencil, colored with watercolor and gouache, and lined with red ink. For this project, I focused on different coloring and shading techniques.
1/6 of my PearlescentMoon Double Life Thumbnail series for my illustration class. It was one of my final projects of the semester, so I’m excited to finally share it.

(I also wanted to highlight different story elements from each episode! So episode one showcases the ✨ nether ✨)

Two Roads
Two Roads is a 26 page accordion book inspired by J Maya’s song Two Roads and Roier’s QSMP lore, with an added fae au. The first of two, each book focuses on queer found family and love.
It is the first of two (maybe three) books centered around the Fooligetta family and Spiderbit. Two Roads follows human Roier losing his son Bobby and becoming a fae through meeting Leo.
Moving forward, I hope to document my journey creating the second book and further exploring my au (tworoadsau) through paintings, stickers, and more.
Let me who you would like to see in this au ✨🌷
Far Too Cold is the first to feature Tilly baby (queen of my heart)! Her collar is gold, a small hint at her lost life. Her paws are also on the red string of fate as if she was Pearl’s soulmate.
The roses represent both the color red and love/soulmates. There are rose petals in the snow, which hurts/separates the soulmates.
Dl!Pearl has patches of hypothermia on her cheeks and legs to show the pain from the snow. The snow is both a way to hurt Scott and herself, which Tilly is sad about. (Her outfit also does not give her much coverage from the snow.)
2/6 of my PearlescentMoon Double Life Thumbnail series for my Illustration class. Episode 2’s thumbnail is one of my favorites, thank you to (youtuber/artist) GenrihG for inspiration!

Prompt: Stars, Festa Junina is one of my favorite days on the server so had to paint it finally
Hope always had a special place in my heart, and learning more of their story today reminded me of this sketch from August. It feels like a good time to expand on their design and start a new painting.
What is Two Roads au?
Two Roads is based off q!Roier’s story from Bobby’s Death to joining the Fooligetta family, but with a fairy twist. The story is narrated similar to fairytale as, split between two settings: the village and the forest. The village’s narrative focuses on isolation and q!Roier’s relationship with Bobby, while the first centers around acceptance and his connection to Leonarda.
Each story is inspired by queer experiences, the village representing heteronormative society and the forest/fae the queer community. Q!Roier’s journey ends through him leaving the forest with Foolish, Vegetta, and Leonarda, a non traditional found family.
In portraying Two Road’s story, I was drawn to the two sides of an accordion book- the same paper but unable to be read at the same time. Both stories combine to form a larger narrative, yet are divided between two communities with separate customs and beliefs.
(How are we all doing after last night’s lore? I’ve been working on making copies of this book and not crying over gay cubitos.)
