i made a brad dourif drake meme generator
has this been done
what movies are these shots from? and if you'd have the time to make a full list of the movies in the Boys edit that'd be nice. carry on brad dourif warrior 🫡
Here are your answers :v I've updated the Boys hottie supercut video with a full list as well! Thanks for the push.
1. Tales of the Unknown, episode “Number Eight”
2. Istanbul! The infamous movie where brad plays someone with a really awful secret, but is also incredibly stupidly impossibly gorgeous
3. Moonlighting TV show episode, we love a tortured priest
4. Trauma: he’s only onscreen for a few minutes, but he makes them count
OK, fellow Brad Dourif enjoyers, we need to find some good comparison photos to reblog this with, because look! I had to do a double-take at the resemblance.
This Progeny interview posted by @exdeputysonso seems to fit pretty well, but I'm sure there are better examples out there:
Conrad Veidt portrait
When I was first scrounging around for Bradthirst material, I came across these pieces by @anonmarleighdourif (humanpincushion on DeviantArt). They have an incredible talent for capturing his likeness, especially the eyes.
So lush, these are a huge inspiration for me. I just want to stare at them all day long.
The spirit I aim to carry into the world (at least with frivolous art projects)
What got you into making vintage posts?
I was wishing there was a blog where I could look at hot people and press buttons, and then I realized I could make a blog full of hot people and buttons. The vintage thing was just because I’m already into old movies and think the people in them are hot!
so my brad dourif fixation got eaten by other stuff in late 2024, but i'd already written a bunch of ~smutty stories~ featuring various of his characters (including this cypress edge one).
sometime soon, i'm planning to edit and release the one that retcons martin klamski into something... much more useful >:]
don't forget there's a cozy little corner of AO3 with some tasty gríma and jack dante content by other writers!
J.C. Leyendecker, famous queer artist of dapper 1920s people, across a hundred years of separation: so sometimes we need to get a little athlete, I mean a real small one, posing like he’s going to kill and eat someone, leaving no shards of bone.
Me, humble disciple: absolutely absolutely
J.C. Leyendecker: he could kill a horse by sneering. That’s how cunty he is.
Me: doin my best, boss -
J.C. Leyendecker: you must then put him in the silky underwear -
Me: of course.
Leyendecker: do your absolute best to shine up the silky, shiny, thin underwear. Oil it.
Me: I’m not great at this -
Leyendecker: think silk. Think shiny. Think, “this is how you sell clothing to straight men.”
Me: is - is it?
Leyendecker: the whip must, of course, be slightly suggestive. No, more than that. More than that. It’s important that he be provocatively catchable, AND YET - he can defend himself!
Me: got it, boss. Um - you know I’m not actually - I don’t know how to paint -
Leyendecker: shhh, I am telling you. to sell suits we also need a suit guy. we model the suit guy on a Suit Guy, one of my 1920s Suit Guys, it’ll be great.
Me: I can probably draw -
Leyendecker: suit guy could kiss him on the head. 😘 . Like that. Say that.
Me: 🫡
J.C. Leyendecker, “man and jockey clothing advertisement,” 1923. This is how we sell men’s suits, apparently.
Got into Death Note, and for once I'm watching the dub because L has a sexier voice :V
so I go to look up who did this, and it's ALESSANDRO JULIANI!
MR FELIX GAETA VON BATTLESTAR HIMSELF!
SWOOOOOOONNN 😳
Look at him, he's about 31, and during the same time period he's playing this beautiful tragic mess of a spaceman. Love him!!!!! ♡
Our little disaster darling... Also canonically bi. AND he sings.
(dreamy sigh)
