before the younger shimada became a cyborg he was an incorrigible flirt and once the two of you begin dating it begins to show again

he’s thoughtful and almost playful about it. say you mention how pretty some flowers you see are, expect a bouquet of them in your room the next morning.

if you ask him about it, he’ll act aloof.

“hm? you found flowers in your room? is someone trying to take you from me?”

it will take him a while before he will show his dragon to you outside of battle. it’s a display of trust and intimacy to him so don’t be offended if you ask early on and he refuses.

once he does let you have an up close view of his dragon, you may be surprised by how warm and accepting it is of you. genji’s dragon is an extension of him and his feelings so expect it to circle and wrap itself around you.

another milestone in your relationship is when genji reveals his face to you. while he has come to terms with his altered existence, he knows his face is rather marred.

pepper his face with kisses while insisting that he is beautiful and he may tear up.

if you’re an overwatch agent, he tries not to be overly protective of you.

he knows you can take care of yourself and he knows he must focus on the task at hand rather than fuss over you but there are times he can’t help but take out some enemies for you.

if you are in immense danger and need help, he becomes an unstoppable force. he will not show mercy to those who hurt you.

he’ll train with you, although working out is a bit different for him. (personally i headcanon him having a piece of his admdomin, everything below the knee, and an entire arm missing)

zenyatta adores you and is glad his pupil has found love. zenyatta invites you to morning meditation with the two of them!

hanzo won’t admit that he has any thoughts on the matter but he is secretly very glad that genji has someone who makes him so happy.

genji thinks it’s very cute when you kiss his face plate, especially if you kiss his cheek area.

genji isn’t the jealous type but if he hasn’t been able to spend very much time with you for a prolonged amount of time, expect him to sneak into your room and whisk you away on an impromptu excursion for the night.

since genji doesn’t take his mask off often, he opts to keep his hands on you when you are together rather than kiss you (although if you ask him to remove it he’ll gladly oblige). his cold fingers will place themselves on the curve of your spine, interlock your fingers, and just trace shapes on your arms or palms.

he doesn’t really feel cold often but on the off chance he does if you offer him one of your hoodies (even if it’ll be small on him) he will BLUSH and gratefully accept it. it may not do much but the gesture will touch him.

he’s a big fan of kissing your shoulders and collarbones when he removes his mask. he adores it when you kiss his face and chest.

he gives really good massages despite his mostly metal body.

when he makes you blush he may lightly tease you “oh do you have a fever, love? should i go grab mercy?” you’d punch him if he wasn’t covered in metal.

He crushes on Amy INSTANTLY (ofc) but over time, once he gets to know Amy better, he starts to love her EVEN MORE. Cuz in my opinion "love at first sight" isn't really a thing, it's cute but having his love for her grow even more over time is a lot more cute and wholesome ❤ (imo)

At first, she thinks Sonic is a dork, she finds it cute but denies the idea of her liking him. But then getting to know him, she thinks "ok, I might like him, but I don't want anything to do with him" then something happens like he does something like, a heroic act or something (Idk lol) that makes Amy fall for him in that moment! making her think, "ok, maybe I like this guy more than I thought"

Genji x Reader (First Date) fanfic

It was a few months after overwatch had announced the recall when you’d joined the ranks. After the Paris incident you saw the time had come for hero’s to return and new ones to arrive, and you were willing to take up the gauntlet.

It wasn’t long into your first week on the Gibraltar base when you’d finally encountered the famed cyborg who sliced and diced a null sector behemoth to pieces and survived an encounter with doomfist. You bumped into him in the hall and greeted him with a chipper hello.

Error 404 ‘-I need healing!’

He took off running like a bat out of hell, his face felt hot, steam was pouring out of his valve releases. He was smitten with you at first sight and he didn’t know how to deal with it... He left you standing there in the hall confused beyond words...

The second encounter was no better, he saw you in the training hall and tried showing off. Needless to say he accidentally almost ended up destroying half the arena with his dragon blade. Almost killing you and endangering others in the process... He apologised profusely but he just couldn’t get a coherent sentence out. Whenever he tried talking to you it was just a mess.

He tried and tried his hardest to speak with you, but each time he did his confidence fell to pieces and along with it his tongue.

In all honesty? You thought it was very sweet, you’d heard of the cyborgs unfortunate story, you found his attempts at making a closer relationship with you very cute too. You decided to ask him out. And as it would turn out? Genji was planning the exact same thing.

You were walking through the halls to your room late one night, a midnight snack in hand from the cafeteria. You were approaching your dorm when suddenly, right in front of you, a set of green lights illuminated themselves. “Y/n!! Y you’re up late!” Genji said, he sounded very startled, as if he wasn’t expecting you to be out of your room.

You nearly dropped your snack out of fright, “g Genji! What are you doing here?!” You say sounding just as startled as the ninja. “I I just! I had to! I mean! I’m sorry I I’ll go!” He stammered out turning to leave. You grabbed hold of his hand and the surprised noise he’d made still makes you giggle thinking about it, “wait! Please...” you say holding on tight.

You heard Genji take in a very deep breath. He turned around grabbing hold of your hands with his. “Will you go out with me?!” He blurted out.

You stand there for a moment before giggling and nodding. “I was about to ask you the same thing.” You laugh. “Yes Genji, id like that.” You smile up at him.

Genji couldn’t tell which was better, your answer or your smile. He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding before falling onto his back on the floor with a loud thud. “Thank you.” Was all he said, he sounded so relieved. “I don’t know what I was so afraid of.” He laughed.

You giggle and open your door. You step inside and put your snack down before returning and offering genji your hands to help him up. “Is that what you’ve been trying to do this whole time?” You say as he gently takes and admires your hands before getting up. “Yeah heh... I... I didn’t know how to ask you... every time I opened my mouth my brain broke.” He says tapping the side of his visor. “ I’ll, I’ll let you enjoy the rest of your evening, how does Friday sound?...f for our date I mean.” He says shyly.

You smile and nod. “Friday sounds nice, thank you Genji.” You chirp giving his visor a peck on what you assume is his cheek. His lights flashed pink. “Oh I didn’t know you could change their colour?” You say amazed. “I... I can’t, not like that at least!” He says flustered before rushing off. “G goodnight y/n!!” He shouted as he disappeared down the corridor. You couldn’t help but laugh.

...

Friday night arrived, Genji told you to meet him in a rather odd place. It was a parking lot next to a drive in theatre. You waited there quietly in one of your nicest outfits, you were beginning to worry maybe he stood you up... then he jumped down from the building next to you. He looked nice, it was strange seeing him wearing clothes over his armor, a hoodie and some trousers.

“You came.” He says stepping closer to you. He had a bag over his shoulder filled with snacks and drinks. “Of course I did.” You smile. “You look nice.” You say staring up at his visor. His lights flashed pink again. “I need to get that checked, I think your compliments have broken me.” He chuckled.

“Heh, sorry.” You giggle. “Where are we going?” You ask. Genji pointed at the drive in theatre. “But.. we don’t have a car.” You say raising an eyebrow. “We don’t need one.” He says picking you up suddenly. “G Genji!!” You say now very embarrassed. “Hold on tight.” He said before suddenly jumping up onto the roof of the theatres ticket and concession building.

Up here you had a great view of the screen and the sound was perfect. He laid out the picnic blanket and set out the snacks before removing his hoodie and folding it up like a cushion for you. “I used to come here with Mccree all the time when we were in Blackwatch.” He says softly. “We just gotta keep our voices down or we’ll get caught.” He snickered.

You couldn’t help but giggle. Even still you felt bad about not paying. “Ah, I don’t feel r-“ he cut you off by raising his hand. “Don’t feel bad about it, the guy who runs this place is an asshole, he jacks up the prices enough as is and doubles it for Omnics to keep them out...” he says bitterly. “Oh... Fuck him then.” You smile and snuggle on the blanket beside him.

You two sat and watched the film, eating and drinking a 6 pack Genji had bought. It was a nice fruity spirit based alcohol, you had no clue what it was due to the label being in another language but you’d be sure to ask him later. You felt his hand make its way around your waist, you gladly leaned into him as he pulled you closer...

The film ended and the night was still very young. Genji packed the blanket back in his bag before unfolding his hoodie and putting it back on. “Come on, I got somewhere el-“ he was cut off by an aggressive sounding old man shouting at you two from below. “I knew I heard something! Get down here you rotten kids!!” He shouted. Genji scooped you up and laughed making a run for it.

You were on the other side of the city by the time Genji stopped running, he wasn’t even slightly out of breath, but you were, even though he’d carried you the whole way you’d never laughed so hard in your life. “God he could have called the cops on us.” You giggle.

Genji snickered, “I know, fun being a little bad right?” He says gently putting you down in front of a very large building. “Where are we?” You ask looking at the empty parking lot, “come inside, I booked this place out for us.” He smiled taking your hand.

You followed him inside and blinked, “an ice rink?” You ask as you look over the fresh untouched surface. Genji nodded picking out a pair of skates for you. “Here, let me put them on you.” He says softly. You could tell he was blushing by how he looked away from you.

You nod and sit down for him. He removed your shoes carefully and slid the skates on. He took his time tying the laces making sure they were snug. When he finished he couldn’t stop from sliding a hand up your leg, you let out a soft gasp at the bold move. You weren’t expecting it, but you liked it...

He took your hand and led you out. Instantly your legs bowed and you nearly ended up on your face. He was quick to catch you and hold you up right. “Heh I’ve got you.” He says softly. Up this close you could see past the green light and through to his face. He had lovely eyes. “Th thanks. I’ve... n never skated before.” You say shyly.

“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you.” He cooed helping you stand up right before slowly moving back and leading you along with ease. After a few minutes the stiffness in your movements disappeared and you began to gain balance. “I never knew you enjoyed skating.” You say staring at the ice being cautious of where you stepped next.

“Like a lot of things, I never used to do it before I joined Blackwatch.” He says as he began to skate beside you, his hand never letting go of yours. “When I got my new body, I was uncoordinated and very clumsy. I’d lost my agility, and couldn’t get a grasp of my new legs. So Commander Reyes brought me here one night, he put a pair of skates on me and pushed me out onto the ice... he wouldn’t let me go home until I managed to get up and go around it three times without falling over.” He chuckled.

“I hated him for it at the time, I thought he was being unfair... but he was just pushing me in the right direction. He brought me back here every night after training and each time I got faster and better. Soon... I was moving with my new body as if it were my old one.” He says softly.

You hung on his every word, Genji had a horrible and rough past, to hear of a fond memory in the darkest time of his life was so... heartwarming.

You gasped as he suddenly twirled you about. Your skates spun on a point and you landed perfectly in his embrace again. “Y/N?...” he says now looking right at you. “Thank you... for tonight.. and for being so patient with me.” He says gently placing his hand on your cheek. “ genj-“ he gently placed his thumb on your lips silencing you. “Please... let me finish before my nerve leaves me again.” He whispers.

“I never thought it possible for me to find love after what happened to me, to my body... but you gave me a chance... and... I’d very much like another one if you’re willing to.. be mine?” He asks sounding so hopeful and shy. You nod and smile. “I’ll be yours, only if you be mine.” You whisper back.

He was silent for a moment before reaching up and pressing the release on his visor, a click, a hiss as the air locks opened. Your breath caught in your throat as you saw his eyes, unobstructed and in full view. Then his face, you saw a tuft of black hair peeping out from under his forehead guard. You looked over every scar, every burn, then your eyes landed on his lips... you couldn’t see anything wrong with him, to you he was the most perfect man you’d ever laid eyes on. “Y/N?...” he whispered.

You leaned in and kissed his lips gently, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and he slid his around your waist pulling you closer. His lights turned pink again. “ d damn it, you’re going to break me with how sweet you are” he stutters out. You giggle and kiss him again. “Do you really mind if I break you?” You whisper. “...no... come here” he says pulling you back in for another more passionate kiss...

The two of you stayed like that for a while before eventually deciding it was time to go. Instead of skating back on your own he scooped you up once more and slid back to the side of the rink. He helped you put your shoes back on before taking your hand and walking back to base.

You were halfway back to hq when you both felt your stomachs growl, “heh, I guess I didn’t bring enough snacks. What do you want to eat?” He asks pulling out his phone to look up places nearby. “Genji.” You tug on his sleeve and point at an in and out. “Oh that’ll do!” He chimes.

The two of you ordered and sat down outside watching the city life at night. It was a beautiful evening. You both ate in relative silence, occasionally offering each other a bite of one another’s food. Every now and then your hands would find their way into one another’s.

The pair of you arrived back at base to find that 76 had waited up to make sure you two got home safely, he really was like a dad... once you were both inside he locked up the building and Athena began the evenings lock down protocol.

“Is he always like that?” You ask Genji as you both approach the dormitory’s. “He never used to be, he actually used to hate me and Mccree, but... after Reyes died and the recall happened... I think he saw us both as his wards like gabe once did.” He says softly. “Plus, I think he’s lost so many people he cares about he wants to make sure all of us are happy and safe you know?” He says as you both come to a stop outside your room.

You nod, “I suppose he cares more than he lets on.” You smile, you look sheepishly down at your feet. “Thank you Genji, I... I had a really good time tonight.” You say softly. “I did too, thank you for giving me a chance.” He says taking your hand again. “You’re a chance worth taking... do you... wanna come inside? I got a bottle of wine and some Doritos?...” you say looking up at him.

He nods and removes his visor again so you can see the genuine smile on his face. His perfect face... “I’d love that y/n.” He chuckled. You both end up drinking the whole bottle and spending the rest of the evening snuggled on your bed.

So I asked my friend which Overwatch character I should do my next alphabet headcanons about and they said Genji! So I'll be doing Genji nex

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

-Genji's a very secure partner, I don't see him as being very clingy. He knows how to seperate from you when needed, but that doesn't mean he's not affectionate. He is in his own ways. I see his love languages being gift giving and quality time; his affection comes in the form of a random origami crane he made for you, or your favorite snack he just happened to come across that he totally didn't spend hours getting just to see your face light up, it's the time he spends doing your favorite hobby with you even after a long day, just because it warms his heart to see you so passionate about something.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Genji's a very attentive friend, always there to have your back or cheer you up with wise words and good company. As you get closer you get to see the more playful side of him, the side of him that teases you for little things and can be easily egged on into playing games because even though he pretends to be all wise and sage he's still got that competitive and playful spirit.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He's not super cuddly, but he likes holding you when he sleeps. He's a rough sleeper and having you close helps. He has to wear his mask to sleep (see my genji cyborg headcanons), but he has the rest of his armor off while he sleeps so he can feel his skin (what he has left) against yours. Prefers to be the one holding you but won't complain if you want to hold him, only if you're doing it to comfort yourself though; he doesn't like to be held to be comforted, it feels better to hold something instead.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

I can't see him wanting to fight for his entire life, at least not in overwatch. He has a lot to fight for, but he'll be satisfied one day, when he knows the future is in good hands. He makes this promise to you, that his life of danger and fighting will not be forever; one day he will settle down with you for good.

I wouldn't say he's great at cooking, but he's picked up a few skills while training in Nepal with Zenyatta. He could definitely make some meals for you. He is, however, very clean. Always dutiful to pick up after himself and keep things where they belong.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Overall I don't think he's had a lot of relationships, especially after the incident of becoming a cyborg. It took a lot of years and healing to even accept himself, much less let other people accept him. Not to mention how secluded his lifestyle was in Nepal for a while. For him to end a relationship with someone would be truly rare; I can only really see it happening if they betrayed him in some way. Even if you were at a serious risk of death, Genji would think you're safest where he can watch over you. He wouldn't push you away.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

He's not as traditional as say- his brother, but Genji does have some traditional values. Marriage would be something he wants, but he'd be slow about it. The man doesn't rush I'll tell you that much. He took FOREVER to confess his feelings to you, so he'll take his time with proposing as well. Maybe after he retires from overwatch and you two can build a proper life together <3

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

After all of his training, Genji has become attuned his emotions, as well as the emotions of others. He knows the value of a gentle word can be just as important as a sharp touch. With you, he's not dishonest, he won't tell you what you want to hear but he'll be gentle with you regardless. He knows what it is to hurt, and to heal- perhaps better than most. He touches you as if you are a fresh bloom, sacred and breakable, regardless of your size or background. You are his, which means to him that's what you deserve.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

If you like hugs he'll indulge you more often, but he's not one to initiate unless he's truly missed you or was worried about you. When he hugs you he likes to rub your back and cradle your head. If he had been worried about you he likes to crouch down (if you're shorter than him) and hug you around the midsection so he can listen to your heartbeat for a while. It's comforting.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He says it when he confesses. He's not one to throw his feelings around lightly, nor his romantic favor. By the time he's ready to confess he'll be sure he loves you, and he wants you to know it. He'd say it in his native language first, then repeat in English if you don't understand.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

For all of his training and all of his healing Genji is still one competitive bastard. If you thought I'd put 'oh he's so secure he doesn't mind' here, I can't blame you, but may I suggest "Genji actually isn't threatened but takes it as a challenge when people flirt with you?" Yes, for the most part he's extremely secure and doesn't doubt for a second that you'll leave him for whatever bozo walks up and flirts with you- actually he thinks you deserve it. You're pretty, why wouldn't you get propositions? But that doesn't change the fact that you're HIS partner, so he'll walk up and flirt with you too. The sweetest compliments only he could pull off to grab your attention; he takes some guilty pleasure in the embarrassed walk of shame the other person pulls when they realize you're entirely enamored with him...

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His mask definitely gets in the way of kissing you whenever he feels like it, but in a way it makes his kisses even more special because he puts in extra effort to do it. Lip kisses are of course his favorite just because of the intimacy and because if he's going to take his mask off he wants to be as close to you as possible. I will say, because of the... limit of kissing, when he does get ahold of you, his kisses end up getting real hot real fast. Even if they don't amount to anything in the end, he'll leave you breathless everytime.

He likes when you kiss him on his mask where his lips would be. He thinks it's cute. But really feeling your lips anywhere on his actual skin is great as well.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He's a little awkward with kids honestly, he likes them, but he struggles with stuff to tell them. He's super cool to kids until he opens his mouth and starts talking about healing and inner peace and such. But if given enough time or a gentle push, he'd loosen up a little and entertain them with dramatic stories of dragons and warriors.

He seems like the kind of guy who would like a family of his own. A legacy to leave behind, children of his own to watch grow and never leave them with the scars his own family left him. It'd be healing, I think, to the part of him that lost his family.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Genji always wakes up at a decent time, regardless of how much sleep he got. But, if you sleep in he won't bother you. He thinks it's important for you to get as much rest as you need, regardless of his own sleep schedule. If you insist on waking up with him, he meditates in the morning right after he eats and he'd gladly teach you how to do it with him- in fact he'd be appreciative of the company.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

It's been said in game that Genji notoriously stays up late. He has trouble sleeping and getting tired, but will insist on you going to bed without him most nights. If you're a night owl and stay up with him, it'll likely be the only time you go to sleep together. Otherwise he slips into bed as gently as he can, apologizing if he wakes you up.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

He's had a complicated past. It's not everyone's business and it certainly doesn't need to be everyone's burden. Learning all he went through will take time, as will most of your relationship. It's not quite about trust, more so that there are things he doesn't wish to weigh you down with.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Mm that would depend. Genji is very patient with you, he remembers how it felt to lash out when he was angry at the world. How easily anger consumed his decisions. Even when he is angry he usually doesn't let it show outside a snide comment or two (that interaction he has with Ramattra cough cough). But when matters of your safety are involved :) whoo boy. He is a warrior, this man's rage will feel as cold and unyielding as an ocean storm. He will absolutely tear through anything and anyone to get to you. He will not come snarling and spitting, he will be a focused blade- so unwavering in its path that it pierces through even the heavens to secure you.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Considering his focus on most things I'd say it's a safe bet that he'll remember everything you tell him. Especially if it concerns things he can gift you ;)

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Your first kiss together was something special. It was a moment of utter vulnerability for him, and he tried to fit every bit of tenderness and affection and desire he felt for you all in one kiss. It was the first time he'd taken off every part of his mask in front of you too. He'll never forget it, the adoration in your eyes.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

As we discussed in Patience, Genji doesn't play about your safety. But he's not overbearing unless he's knows of an active threat on you. And even then he won't restrict you from doing anything, he'll just be close by you to make sure nothing happens. Reassuring him with your words won't do much for his worries, but he appreciates it all the same.

As for protecting him, there unfortunately isn't much you can do. He's in a dangerous line of work, but luckily he doesn't get hurt too often. On the occasion that he does, he'd appreciate you being there while he recovers. Or better yet, if you patched him up yourself.

Special! If you're an overwatch agent as well, you get paired together on missions often just because of how well you work together. You watch his back and he watches yours. He has absolutely dropped a mission to make sure you're okay though, but who can blame him?

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Genji puts maximum effort into the things he can do with you that are special. Dates and gifts are important to him and he wants them to show his love for you where his lack of physical affection or words for you fail.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He has a bad habit of losing track of time. Once he's focused on something he could do it for hours and often needs an outside force to draw him out of it. This has led to him being late to dates, events, etc but he always makes up for it.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He had to learn how to be less concerned with his appearance after it got heavily scarred. Even still with you, he struggled with intimacy for a while, showing you his body. He'd come to terms with his appearance himself but showing himself to you was different.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Definitely. He's devoted himself to you, body and soul. If you died or left him he'd feel incomplete, as if some part of him had numbed deeply. It'd be worse if you died, he likely wouldn't move on.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He calls you Uguisu, after a Japanese spring bird. They're popularly used in poetry and stories to signal the start of spring. Spring is his favorite season, it's when snow melts and makes room for new life. That's what you mean to him, new life, new invigoration. Melting the snow of his heart. <3

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He's not here to fix you, in a romantic partner he'd want someone emotionally mature. He wants to have deep talks, but to be able to talk about his life as well and the hardships he's been through.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

He definitely has nightmares. If you're a light sleeper and wake up to him, he'll take off his mask just to kiss your forehead and reassure you he's fine. They're of varying variety but the worst ones these days are of you dying or going through what he went through. When he has those, regardless of if you wake up or not, he'll hug you to him tightly for a while, humming a soft tune to himself to calm down.

Poiché il soggetto in questione è una vera e propria leggenda nella Hall of Fame dei Transformer, la puntata di oggi è particolarmente molto lunga, per cui la suddividerò in più parti.

PUNTATA 7: OPTIMUS PRIME, prima parte.

L’inizio: Commander e i suoi Autorobot

Ormai senza di lui non esisterebbero gli Autobot, come non esisterebbero gli Avengers senza Capitan America, la Justice League senza Superman... o Mass Effect senza il comandante Shepard. E poi, siamo onesti: come si fa a non resistere alla vista di quel bel camion rosso e blu col rimorchio bianco al seguito, che si trasforma in un colosso di dieci metri spesso armato di fucile a ioni e ascia energetica (o lame gemelle retrattili, fate voi), e col volto perennemente coperto da una maschera? In quante occasioni almeno una volta lo avete sentito pronunciare frasi memorabili quali l’immortale «La libertà è un diritto di ogni essere senziente» o la più moderna «Uno resterà in piedi, l’altro cadrà»? E c’è stata forse una volta in cui, prima di entrare in azione, non abbia mai ordinato ai suoi compagni: «Autobot, trasformatevi e in marcia!» con l’inconfondibile vocione americano di Peter Cullen o del nostro rispettabilissimo Diego Reggente? Ovviamente no! Sarebbe un sacrilegio per noi fan che in trentacinque anni abbiamo seguito le sue avventure sulla Terra (e non solo) in ogni media esistente!

Che abbiate esultato per ogni piano dei Decepticon che ha fermato insieme ai suoi Autobot, fatto il tifo per lui nei millemila scontri all’ultimo sangue contro Megatron, o addirittura versato fiumi di lacrime quando avete assistito alla sua morte nel film animato del 1986, il nome di OPTIMUS PRIME è e sarà sempre associato al coraggio, autosacrificio, e un indomabile spirito combattivo; un guerriero sempre pronto a dare la propria vita nel proteggere gli esseri senzienti, organici o sintetici che siano.

Adesso qualche ex bimbo italiano degli anni ‘80 starà sicuramente strabuzzando gli occhi e facendo spallucce mentre si chiede: «Optimus... chi?!?». Logico, visto che all’epoca in Italia era conosciuto come Commander e oggi quella fetta di fan lo ricorda ancora con quel nome. Curiosamente, però, quella parola all’apparenza scelta a caso dalla GIG potrebbe probabilmente derivare da uno dei tre moduli di cui è composto il personaggio: “Commander” è, infatti, il modulo centrale rappresentato dal robot stesso per cui, tutto sommato, non ha torto. E così, superata la barriera del nome, conosciamo meglio questo Bot a partire dalle sue origini narrative e non da quelle animate, perché ci sono pervenute la bellezza di ben dodici versioni diverse di Optimus nel corso della sua chilometrica carriera multimediale.

La mia origin story preferita – nonché quella che personalmente reputo la più coerente – è la versione della Continuità Allineata, raccontata persino da Ratchet nella serie TRANSFORMERS: Prime del 2010. Esattamente come ci viene narrato nell’episodio L’Alba della Guerra della Stagione 2 G1, Optimus Prime da ragazzo si chiamava Orion Pax, un timidissimo e umile Bot che lavorava non come un operaio navale come nella G1 ma come archivista e allievo di Alpha Trion. Lo stesso robot decano che, nella puntata di cui sopra, ripara i feriti Orion Pax e la sua fidanzatina Ariel (vittime di un’imboscata di Megatron) riconvertendoli nelle rispettive versioni “adulte” che conosciamo. Tutto ciò accadde nei – per così dire – “secoli bui” di Cybertron, una sorta di Medioevo in cui politiche inefficaci e una corruzione sempre più soffocante avevano creato enormi diseguaglianze sociali. Un giorno, ispirato dalle parole di un ex gladiatore di nome Megatron, Orion Pax pose un freno all’oppressivo sistema a caste che schiacciava la libertà di ogni essere senziente. I due erano fratelli come gli dei Zeus e Ade, così uguali ma così diversi – al punto di dividersi tragicamente una volta che Megatron rivelò le sue vere intenzioni all’Alto Consiglio, cioè usare la forza per rovesciare i leader del pianeta. Questo, in soldoni, è il germe della leggendaria Guerra per Cybertron, immortalata nei videogiochi del dinamico duo Activision/High Moon Studios e nella recente serie animata Netflix omonima.

Un background decisamente più elaborato, crudo e oscuro e meno tagliato con l’accetta del triplice episodio pilota della G1 Molto più di quel che appare, in cui comunque apprendiamo che è stato lo stesso Optimus Prime a deviare la traiettoria dell’Arca mentre precipita sulla Terra e si schianta sul monte St. Hilary. E, prima di questo, è stata sua la dolorosa scelta di accettare il fardello della Matrice del Comando (diventando così “l’ultimo dei Prime”) e di abbandonare l’ormai inabitabile Cybertron: «La guerra è perduta. – dice Optimus a Bumblebee all’inizio di La Caduta di Cybertron – Lasciare la nostra casa è stata la decisione più sofferta che io abbia mai preso». E del “come” il nostro Commander abbia impedito a Megatron di vincere la guerra civile sulla Terra e di sprofondare l’universo nel caos esistono diverse versioni, dalla più pragmatica a quella più macabra... ma andiamo con ordine.

Essendo amante delle trame più votate a esplorare la psicologia dei personaggi, ho deciso di selezionare alcune puntate G1 in cui Optimus Prime è il fulcro della storia: ricordo ad esempio La Città d’Acciaio, in cui il poveretto viene catturato e letteralmente smembrato dai Constructicon e i pezzi vengono riciclati come armi per difendere la nuova torre Decepticon a New York. In seguito diventa la preda ambita da un losco signorotto in Bersaglio: Optimus Prime ed è persino costretto a confrontarsi con un suo clone in Un Problema per Optimus Prime. A parte queste prove fisiche, ci sono state puntate in cui il nostro ha dimostrato una sensibilità e un amore umani verso i suoi cari che mi ha davvero commosso... e non c’è da stupirsi che i fan lo osannino spesso come la figura paterna perfetta!

In La pazzia degli Autobot Optimus e altri suoi compagni vengono alterati da un dispositivo “distorci-personalità” di Megatron, e quando Bumblebee riesce con successo a rinsavire il comandante, questi lo ringrazia con un caloroso abbraccio. Alla ricerca di Alpha Trion invece segna l’esordio delle Fembot e la loro capitana Elita One rischia la Scintilla dopo aver salvato Optimus Prime da un tragico destino; proprio lui si dispera per le condizioni della collega, lasciando intendere un implicito interesse amoroso per lei.

Il suo canto del cigno avviene nel film del 1986, in cui assistiamo all’ultimo duello tra i capi delle rispettive fazioni, alla fine del quale escono entrambi distrutti... in tutti i sensi. Mentre un gravemente danneggiato Megatron sarà riconvertito in Galvatron per mano di Unicron, Optimus Prime (come ho detto all’inizio) spira davanti agli occhi degli sconvolti amici Autobot e degli altrettanto sconvolti spettatori: il suo corpo si ingrigisce, gli occhi si spengono, e la sua Scintilla si estingue un attimo dopo aver sussurrato una frase che in futuro diverrà un celebre marchio di fabbrica soprattutto degli Autobot: «Finché tutti sono uno». Per quanto all’epoca per gli addetti ai lavori fosse stata solo una mera scelta di marketing per promuovere la nuova linea di giocattoli in imminente uscita, per noi fan la morte di Optimus fu come se una parte di noi fosse morta con lui. E fu un vero shock rivederlo come zombi in quella che considero la puntata più struggente e inquietante di tutta la Stagione 3 G1, la cui trama avrebbe dato i natali a un certo personaggio del Bayverso: Risveglio Oscuro, nel quale il cadavere dell’ex Comandante Autobot viene addirittura corrotto dai Quintesson per farne una pedina in un piano per attirare gli Autobot di Rodimus Prime in una trappola mortale.

Nightmare Cayde-6 x Reader

Becoming a Guardian was the best thing that had ever happened to you. Protecting the universe was always exciting. And, you had made so many friends during your adventures. But, there was a downside. You often had hellish nightmares. They were bad at first, not allowing you to sleep. But after awhile, you managed to get a four to six hours of sleep every night.

Tonight’s nightmare, though, was not one that was easy to forget.

In your nightmare, you had been assigned to hunting down a small group of bandits out in the EDZ. Zavala said that it was going to be quick and easy. You gathered your weapons and flew to the location of the bandit camp. After scouting the area, you took out your hand cannon and advanced on the group. You quickly took out the snipers and rolled behind a rock as the rest of the bandits shot at you. After reloading, you activated your Golden Gun and took out the remaining bandits. Or so you thought.

A few bandits returned from a run and saw you taking out their group. You hadn’t noticed them when they arrived, and they easily cornered you. They demanded you surrender, which you did, but you quickly sent out an SOS. You threw down all your weapons and put your hands up.

The bandits rushed towards you and tied your hands behind your back. They whispered about selling you to some Guardian hunter and threw you against a rocky wall in their camp. You groaned in pain and just sat there, knowing someone was going to come to your aid soon.

And indeed, someone did. A ship flew over the camp and as it did, a certain Hunter Vanguard appeared in front of everyone.

The bandits freaked out upon seeing Cayde. They quickly pulled out their auto rifles and shot him.

“Hey (Y/N)~! I got your distress signal and I’m here to rescue you!” Cayde shouted heroically as he dove for cover.

“Thank god! I was getting bored!” You called back. You heard Cayde chuckle and poke out from behind a tree to shoot the enemies. The few bandits remaining began to run away, trying to escape their death. But, Cayde quickly shot them down before they could get too fair.

He came out from behind his hiding spot and jogged over to you.

“Don’t worry princess, your knight is here!” He said when he got to you. He helped you stand up and untied your wrists.

“Thanks Cayde.” You said which stretching. Cayde winked.

“Alrighty lets head back to the Tower. I, sadly, have more paperwork to do.” He whined. You laughed and bent down to grab your weapons. When you stood back up, your eyes widened.

“Cayde! GET DOWN!” You screamed. Cayde turned to see what was behind him. There, was an injured bandit with a hand gun pointed straight at him. A shot rang through the air and the next thing you knew, Cayde was on the ground.

“No!” You yelled, running to him. But, you couldn’t reach him. The distance between you two kept growing. Cayde groaned in pain and kept calling for you, while you shouted his name back. You heard menacing laugh in the distance before you tripped. You fell and screamed as the world slowly grew black.

You jolted awake. Your breathing was wild and you were covered in sweat. Ghost appeared next to you.

“(Y/N)? Are you alright?” Ghost asked. He floated towards you and nuzzled your neck. You pulled him into a small hug and tried to calm your breathing.

“I… just had a nightmare.” You whispered to Ghost. It made a sound of acknowledgment and pressed himself tighter into the hug. This lasted for awhile until you fully calmed down and got up. You needed some air. Quickly changing into a casual outfit, you wandered outside.

You walked to the courtyard of the Tower and leaned in the rails to look over the city. A breeze blew through your hair and you exhaled, the nightmare was still weighing on you. It felt so realistic. Losing someone so close to you, someone you loved, was something you always feared.

You shuddered after recalling the dream again. You needed to see Cayde. Make sure he was alive and safe. You turned and sprinted to his room to find the exo. You passed a few Guardians who were sitting around chatting, probably unable to sleep too. You reached his door, and paused. You didn’t want to wake him, but you needed to see him. After knocking a few times and getting no answer, your heart sank. Your Light flickered in sadness. Ghost appeared after feeling your distress.

“Hey, maybe he’s in his usual spot in the hanger?” He said. You nodded slowly before jogging to the hanger.

Upon reaching the area, you let out a huge sigh of relief. There was Cayde, leaning over a map on his desk. Sundance was floating next to him and when she saw you, she bumped the exo.

“Hm? What is it buddy?” He asked. He looked at his Ghost and turned his head to follow her gaze. His eyes brightened up when he was you.

“(Y/N)! What brings you…” He trailed off upon seeing the state you were in. He could sense how dim your Light was, indicating that something was seriously wrong. He made his way over to you and checked you for any injuries. When he finished, his bright blue eyes met yours. His face took on a worried look when he saw leftover tear marks.

“What happened (Y/N)?” he whispered while taking your hand. You looked down and quickly broke into tears again. Cayde gently took you into his arms and held you close as you cried. He was warm and you easily melted into his arms. You gripped onto him as if he was going to vanish into thin air if you didn’t. Cayde whispered soothing words into your ear, reminding you that the two of you were safe. Sundance and your Ghost floated near, watching your and Cayde’s Light intertwine. After what seemed like years, you let go of him and dried your face. Cayde stepped back and put his hands on his hips.

“So, are you going to tell me what happened?” He asked. He grabbed a nearby chair and sat down. You stood in front of him and took a breath. Sundance settled down in Cayde’s lap and your Ghost rested on your shoulder.

“I just… had a really bad nightmare.” You said quietly. Cayde nodded.

“What happened in it?” He said. You lowered your head and shook it. You did not want to share what you saw. Cayde grunted as he stood up. He grabbed your arm and slowly traced little circle on your skin with his thumb.

“Come on, (Y/N). Please tell me.” He pleaded. You looked into his eyes. He was sad and extremely worried about you. You nodded.

“It started off fine. I was on an easy mission. Then, things got out of hand. I needed help and you showed up to help me. You saved me but then…” You gulped and Cayde rubbed your arm, encouraging you to go on.

“And then, you got shot… I tried to run to you, b-but I couldn’t get to you… It was terrible. And it felt so real.”

Cayde hummed and took a step back. You looked up at him with watery eyes. He placed a hand on your cheek and lightly wiped your eyes. You leaned into his touch.

“Well, that was pretty awful. I can’t believe I died in such a stupid way.” Cayde said while laughing quietly. You giggled a little too. Cayde smiled and took you in his arms again. You blushed when he placed his forehead against yours.

“But, I’m here (Y/N). And I’m not going anywhere. I have to protect the galaxy, you know. And, I would never leave you alone.”

You looked up at him and tightened your hug. Cayde chuckled and squeezed you back. Sundance and Ghost looked happily at each other, as your Light had been restored to its usual brightness.

You went to move away from the hug, but Cayde tightened his hold. You gave him a questioning look before he pecked your forehead. Your face blew up into a huge blush and hid in his chest. Cayde laughed.

“Thank you for helping me feel better, Cayde.” You said, still hiding.

“Anytime (Y/N). I’m always here for my favorite Guardian.”

After hearing that, you drew all your courage and got up on your tiptoes. You pressed your lips to Cayde’s faceplates. His blue eyes widen, and his face began to heat up. After a second, he responded to your kiss and pressed against your lips. You guys shared a long kiss before pulling apart.

Your face was all red and Cayde’s temperature had risen pretty high. You giggled at the embarrassed exo. Sundance also laughed at her Guardian. Cayde gave her a semi-mean glare before turning back to you.

“Alright, well, how about I treat you to some late night ramen?” Cayde asked after he recovered from embarrassment. You nodded happily. Cayde took your hand in his and the two of you strolled to the courtyard to eat.

Your Ghosts followed behind, happy to see their Guardians’ Light brighter than it had been ever before.

one of his biggest love languages is gift giving so whenever you’re sad he’ll just give you stuff 

a cupcake from that place you’ve been wanting to try, a limited edition of your favorite book 

he’s not against some quality time sitting down with you either 

if you want to talk about your feelings, he’ll listen, but he probably won’t say much in return 

not that he’s not listening, because trust me, he is

he just isn’t sure what to say and doesn’t want to risk upsetting you more

so instead he’ll respond with slight touches 

a squeeze to the hand for reassurance, a kiss on the forehead 

once you start to feel better, he’ll propose a pyjama party and movie marathon 

and he’ll watch whatever movie you choose with a smile on his face bcs he knows it’ll make you happy

Genji:

pretty well adjusted when it comes to emotions 

he learned from the best after all

insanely good listener 

like can sit there and listen to you talk for hours to try and understand what you’re feeling 

very good at empathising with you too

will hold your hand and rub his thumb against your palm 

makes sure to keep you well hydrated and well fed

he’s not the best cook given he spent most of his youth on more important things (like being a slut) 

so he’ll probably just order you your favorite takeout 

he’ll tell you stories of his youth just to make you laugh even if he’s embarrassed as hell about it

silly little music man 

he will do anything it takes to cheer you up

his first instinct is to always make you laugh

so he’ll put the guitar away and settle down with you

and does his absolute best to listen even tho he isn’t always great at it 

your ability to express emotions has always been something he’s admired about you

and is one reason why you’ll forever be his muse

Ramattra:

he’s an absolute brick wall when it comes to human things

but especially feelings 

he can’t experience the full calibre of emotions that humans do so it’s hard for him to comprehend them 

still, he hates seeing you upset and in pain, so he’ll try almost anything to cheer you up 

he can’t exactly fight your feelings so he settles on a more…pacifist approach 

probably asks Zen what to do lol 

treads very lightly with you and is super careful not to invalidate whatever you’re feeling 

goes for physical comfort before anything 

wraps you up in a blanket and holds you in his lap

he’ll even put his work away and let you cuddle up to him for as long as you need

weird but I feel like he would rock you?? 

just something soothing he’s seen other humans do and figures it might help 

it does

once you feel better he is super flustered about being so vulnerable 

Zenyatta:

as soon as he notices you getting sad and mopey, he’s on it 

brews you a kickass cup of tea and probably makes you some comfort food 

even tho he’s an omnic he’s a surprisingly good cook 

brings you a mug of tea and a steaming plate of momos and settles in bed with you 

even if he can’t feel emotions to the calibre you do, he’s still an empath and hates seeing you like this 

let’s you lay on his lap and relax and talk it out 

probably reads one of your favourite books with you

or if you can’t focus you guys will watch something in bed 

strokes your hair and talks to you in his soothing voice 

will comfort you through whatever you are dealing with 

whether it’s something silly or something serious, your emotions are not something he takes lightly
