ever have a hyperfixation hit out of nowhere? anyways
gabriel reyes had everything. a family, friends, all of overwatch, basically anything he could want in the midst of war. and then he died. soldiers are content to die for their country, for what they believe in. surely gabriel wanted the same thing. and then medics ripped him from the hands of death and put him in a world of which he did not belong to anymore. he should not be able to exist in his current state, where his body is constantly dying and reconstructing and dying and reconstructing. he can never truly die and he never will. he had everything stripped from him via a new chance at life. he lost everything and turned to darkness because in his mind it was the only option he had left. he was a monster, no one would want a monster like him. so he embraced it. reaper became the very things gabriel reyes swore to destroy. there's such a heavy facade of an apathetic, sadistic killer that not even he recognizes the broken, marred shell of a man when he takes off his mask. he still feels pain, he wants nothing more than to finally move on but the universe refuses to let him do so. he still has his emotions and regrets and fears but it's all suppressed, hidden under a mask and a cloak. he is the embodiment of death, as the man who died and was brought back. the man who is constantly dying. the man who died as gabriel reyes and came back a monster. a monster made by other people and a monster made by himself. i'm. insane about overwatch lore i wish the game was actually good
Thinking about River and his "it's hard for me to talk about what's biting at my ass" line (during the Hunt) and then later (during Following the River) he opens up and tells V about his parents and if V interrupts him before he gets into more detail he responds with "heard sob stories enough?"
Do you ever just... think a bunch about characters like these? You know, the characters who are always the rock to lean on, the anchor, the source of safety and stability and calm? The ones who are so selfless and full of love and compassion, that might not always have their own needs met because they always put others first? And especially in a world like Night City, where everything is just so very fucked? Where something like this can definitely be taken advantage of?
And this is not to say that River is some doormat that others walk all over as they please, and all he does is smile and put a thumbs up. In River's case (and in general honestly) I do not think kindness should be mistaken for weakness.
He is not weak or boring or naive, not even for someone living in Night City. In fact, it's pretty damn brave to hold onto kindness and altruism like that especially considering the world he lives in and everything he's been through.
I think about the text he sends to V letting them know they can always talk to him. And then I think about the Sun ending, the Path of Glory, how there is the opportunity for V to tell River that he is their rock, their anchor.
And he smiles with content for a moment. But V is leaving.
V, the one who helped him find Randy, helped him put his life back together in a different, but more beautiful way. The one he could turn to in his time of need, the one to be like yes I will help you, and I do not expect anything in return. The one who listens when he opens up about his trauma. The one who refuses to accept his help, the one that says "you being here is enough."
V, the one he falls so hard and so quickly for.
V, the one that is dying, that he may never see again.
I don't know where I was going with this, but on a completely unrelated note, my heart feels like it has been shredded to a million pieces.

Prompt: Genji’s dragon really loves to hang out with s/o. s/o and Genji are not yet in an established relationship and they both are shy about their feelings for each other.
Word count: 2048
You sat by yourself in a large windowsill, quietly enjoying a book as gentle rays of sunshine beamed through the glass to give you warmth. The day was a bit overcast, but there was just enough sunlight to keep you comfortable.
While invested in your story, you feel an odd warmth gather in your lap. Keeping your eyes on your book, you hesitantly reach down with one hand to feel what’s going on down there. You feel… scales… and a long, serpentine body. Is that a snake!?
You fall out of the windowsill with a shriek. Luckily, you weren’t too far from the ground so you don’t get hurt too bad, but now your head was whipping around looking for the spooky scary snake that dared snuggle up to you. You were confused to find no such thing sitting around you, but as soon as you looked up, you see a wispy green dragon floating in the air mere inches from your nose. You let out a shriek and cover your eyes as a defensive reflex. Staying still for a few moments, you start to think you may just be hallucinating, but you feel a gentle warmth touch one of your hands. Something akin to a lick, you think.
Slowly, you lower your hands from your face and see the dragon is still there. It lets out a frustrated chuff before snuggling up to your cheek, gently wrapping around your neck, and resting its head on your shoulder so it could take a little nap.
Well, it would appear this creature didn’t mean you any harm, but you were still incredibly weirded out by this situation. Where did this dragon come from? Why does it want to sleep on you? Wait, dragons are real? So many questions ran through your mind, you almost didn’t notice when Genji showed up. You spotted his feet in your peripheral vision and looked up to see a rather confused ninja.
“Oh! Genji!” you say, startled. “Sorry, sorry. I was reading but then I fell and now I’m… here…”
With embarrassment clear on your face, you get back up on your feet and try to avoid eye contact with Genji. Since the moment you first saw him, you have had quite the crush on him. Even when you mistook him for an omnic at first, you wished he would be yours. Of course you’d be caught in such an embarrassing position in front of your dream man…
“So, um, what brings you here? I don’t usually see too many agents in this corner of the Watchpoint.”
“I’m… actually not too sure,” Genji responds, as if in thought. “I just felt like coming here. Like some instinctual pull brought me—“
Just then, the little dragon wrapped around your neck perked its head up and let out a defensive little snarl at Genji, to which Genji took a step back and yelped in surprise… which then made you yelp out of fear.
“What is that doing here?” Genji asked, pointing at the dragon. His visor hid his face, but from his voice you could tell he was completely flabbergasted about all this.
“Oh! It uh, just kind of showed up? That’s actually why I was on the floor. It scared me. Thought it was a snake… Heh, do you know anything about this?”
Now that you mention it, you began to recall Genji having something very similar—
“That’s my dragon!” Genji nearly shrieked. It almost sounded like he was embarrassed about something, but you couldn’t think of anything that could possibly cause him to feel that way.
“Yours? Oh, you mean that glowy dragon that appears when you do your… sword thing? I didn’t think it was… sentient.”
Genji held his hand out toward you and the dragon let out a little growl before begrudgingly uncurling from your neck and twirling around his arm. In an instant, the dragon vanished on a poof of green smoke and it was as if the creature had never been there to begin with.
“It is, somewhat,” Genji said with a sigh. “Most of his behaviors are derived from my own personality and mood. I didn’t even notice it had emerged, let alone left me. I’m sorry it frightened you. I’ll be sure to keep better control over it.”
Now you were feeling a little bad. You didn’t want him to feel so self-conscious about this.
“No, no,” you assure him. “It’s not that big a deal. Now that I know what it is, I wouldn’t mind having it show up again! It was actually kind of warm as it rested on me. Kind of like a long cat.”
You could feel the color flushing in your cheeks as you began to realize how silly you sounded. How dare you describe Genji’s cherished dragon like that? That’s one way to ruin your chances with the guy you crushed on.
Yet, it seemed he did not take offense. Instead, Genji let out a little chortle and nodded his head in agreement.
“It is sort of like a cat, isn’t it? That just means it gets into more trouble than it should. But, if you really don’t mind, I suppose it’s alright. If only I knew what drew it to you in the first place.”
Oh, but he knew. He knew all too well but was too afraid to admit it. Just like you had fallen so hard for him, Genji had fallen just as hard for you if not harder. It would seem now his desires are finally starting to become too much for him and his dragon thought it would be best to take action. Sadly, Genji didn’t think you’d be willing to go out with him. Despite his time with Zenyatta, he is still somewhat concerned with his appearance and feels in his current state, he in unlovable—at least not in the intimate sense. He can make friends and close companions just fine, but to take on a lover? It was impossible, or so he thought.
With that, Genji simply gave you a little wave and left you alone. But, even with him gone, you swore you could still feel his presence deep within your chest.
That night, Genji dreamed of holding you in his arms. He wanted to squeeze you tight, kiss you hard, and make you all his. Of course, that was just a dream, but come morning, you woke up to find Genji’s dragon had returned. The glowing green serpent was curled into a little ball on your stomach, much like how a cat curls up. Does this thing even know it’s reptilian? Regardless, you found it pretty cute, even if its presence did give you a bit of a start when you woke up. You reach out and gently stroke the dragon’s cute little head, then rub down along its back. The dragon lets out a pleased purr and presses against your hand for more affection.
However, this contact must have sent a jolt through the dragon, because as soon as you started petting it, Genji launched up from his bed with a gasp and instantly knew his dragon had wandered off again. He was correct in assuming his dragon had gone to be with you again. Damn, it was too early for this…
Genji felt himself being consumed by an addictive warmth. It was something that made his heart pound out of his chest and he silently cursed his dragon as he simmered in jealousy. He needed to get his dragon back, but most importantly, he needed to see you.
Genji got himself out of bed and rushed to put himself together. It was as if every moment apart from you left him more and more antsy. Once he looked decent, he rushed out of his room and simply followed the compass in his heart to find where you and his dragon were hiding. It was likely you were still in your room given the early hour, so he hoped he wouldn’t be waking you up or anything.
You remained in your bed, gazing at the dragon with loving eyes as you lazily stroked its limp body. It had become so relaxed under your touch it was basically a limp noodle by now. After what felt like a good hour, you hear a gentle knock on your door that still managed to make you turn stiff with surprise. Then, as much as you didn’t want to, you carefully got yourself out of bed and pulled the dragon off of you. The spirit was not pleased in the slightest, but allowed it for it knew who was at the door.
You open it to see Genji standing there. Of course, you think to yourself. You grab the dragon out of the air with a mastery that gave Genji a shock. You had only known the dragon for less than a day and you already handled it so well! It was good to see you were quickly establishing such a good connection.
You hold the dragon out to Genji and he shyly takes it back. The dragon dissipates as he makes contact with it.
“Heh… Sorry again. It would seem my dragon is quite fond of you.”
You smile just a bit in your still sleepy state, picking up on the adorable shyness in Genji’s voice.
“Well, I think I’m becoming quite fond of your dragon as well,” you reply.
The ninja perks up just a bit at this. He couldn’t tell if that tone you were using was flirty or not, but he considered it to be enough to make a move. A very subtle move, he hopes.
He inquires, “Is that so? Perhaps we could, I don’t know, arrange a meeting time of sorts? Just a time for us to hang out so you can spend some time with my dragon. I mean— at least then maybe the darn thing would stop running off like this. It’s much more bothersome than it lets on.”
You had a sneaking suspicion that this may or may not be Genji asking you out on a date. You really really hoped that was the case. Your heart swelled and you internally screamed at the thought of it, but you didn’t want to get your hopes up too high either. You figured it would be best to play it safe, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be totally relishing in this opportunity.
“I think that sounds lovely,” you say after pretending to think it over for a moment. “I’d love to spend more time with that sweet dragon of yours! Oh—and you too, I guess.”
With a coy little wink, you tell him he can text you whenever he is in the mood to hang and the two of you can just work it out from there. Then, you shut the door and flop back onto your bed to try and get some more sleep, but you just can’t. You’re too busy rolling around and screaming into your pillow. A date with Genji! Well, not a date exactly. But still! A DATE WITH GENJI!
Meanwhile, Genji has a silent celebration of his own on the other side of your door, pumping his fists into the air and letting out soft, whispered “yesssss”s under his breath. Looks like that whole “get a date through your pet” also applies to ancient spirit dragons. Even his dragon emerges once again to twirl around his head and let out a few excited chuffs and rub up against Genji’s face plate with glee.
Still, the dragon’s plan to break the ice has worked, but it thinks it still needs to help Genji, at least until they get married. The dragon ceases its celebration to look back at your door, then glance at Genji.
“Don’t you dare,” Genji whispers angrily and gestures for the dragon to return to him, but nope. The dragon reveals a mischievous toothy grin and phases through the door to snuggle up to you again.
Genji whines and slowly sinks down to the floor with his head in his hands. His descent is accompanied by a long “noooooooooooooo” until he hits the floor. This was so embarrassing. He wishes he could put a leash on that thing.
Lord help me. I've fallen helpless to this big metal daddy
In these scenarios, reader is cybertronian.
1 - We all know Bayverse Prime is considered the most violent reincarnation of Optimus Prime--which is true at times. However, when it comes to you....he is the sweetest most gentle mech there ever was. You should expect Optimus to be as gentle as he can be with you during sex. Unless you ask him to be a little rough.
2 - Every touch, every squeeze, every thrust-- he has to hold back his immense power as to not harm your smaller frame. Sometimes it's exhausting for him, so naturally he loves when you take over and ride him. He'll watch you with those beautiful ocean blue optics as you press down on his chest and move your hips in the most painstakingly pleasurable and sinful way. His large hands grasping your hips as you do so.
3 - Prime is always so busy and stressed that really the only thing that he can use for stress relief is you. Naturally with being the leader of the free galaxy comes many frustrations. He absolutely adores when he can come home at night and make love to you. He'll do it in many ways. He likes to switch it up. For example, sometimes he'll lay you down on your back and watch you squirm for his shaft, or he'll bend you over and watch your hands try and find something to grasp as he slams into you from behind. Hell, he will even sometimes take you roughly against the wall.
4 - He almost always has to hush you with his hands though. The pleasure he gives you is other wordly--but your relationship needs to stay a secret for the good of both of you. You understand this. He's a Prime for gods sake. He can't have his men knowing he's fragging the only femme bot on their team. Just doesn't look good on his armor.
5 - Optimus isn't just fragging you though. He loves you. He is eternally grateful that you have returned his feelings and is honored you would let him pleasure you like he does.
6 - His favorite position is probably missionary. Prime is old fashioned. He likes something to get the job done, but he also loves watching your facial expressions as he plows into you. It gets his engines revving.
Hi! I have a request for you! How would Hanzo and Genji's noodles act around their S/Os?
>.< LOVE ME SOME SHIMADA NOODLES!!!!!
(By the way, I imagine Genji’s dragon to be a girl? Idk why)
Hanzo:
When the two of you started dating
The noodles were so confused
For one, they are not used to Hanzo smiling
Nor the emotions that you stirred within the older Shimada
For another…You scared them the first time you met them
The first thing you did was pick one up, hold it to your chest like a puppy and you scratched under its chin
At first they nipped and wiggled, unused to such affection
Yet you would still hug them, snuggle them…
You’d feed them treats Hanzo would NEVER ever ever let them have
Like bacon, or little chocolate pieces, or little bits of meat from your dinner plate during supper
Hanzo is worried you’re going to make them fat, honestly, and that they’ll someday look like one of those pudgy cats that have to be rolled around because they can’t get up
Love for you starts blossoming pretty fast
It isn’t hard to see why their master loves you
They are so used to you now that they will lift their heads when they hear your name
They will run into your arms if you call them
They are now very protective of you
And one of them knows how to shake a claw for treats :) the other learned the potato-jutsu (flops on floor and sulks till treat is received)
Hanzo is glad the noodles have taken to you, but he had no doubt they would either way
Genji:
Soba was really sulky when Genji first introduced you
She’s not used to having to share Genji
Genji has this little cat bed in his room for her
She just turns away when you crouch in front of her
When you don’t go away, she turns and gives you a grumpy blep, her tongue sticking out cutely
Immediately you blep right back at her
And for a moment, Soba is so startled
Except immediately, just because of the blep, you fascinate her
Genji has gone to grab some snacks, and when he comes back he nearly drops them
Your sitting on the bed with Soba curled up in your lap, her tongue out a bit as you pet her
You’ve already found so many of her sweet spots, the places she loves to get a good scratch the most
Soba makes you think of a puppy
Now she goes with you two whenever you leave the house
While she’s still jealous over her master, she’s okay with sharing him with you and Zenyatta.
Also adores you. Likes to curl up around your neck when you guys are out walking
You always sneak her pieces of chicken
You’re the only person who’ll let her sleep in the bed
She likes to smoosh between you and Genji’s bodies in the bed, not because she doesn’t want you two touching but because you are both soooooo warm
You like playing with her and a laser pointer

Hazard x Reader
A/N: I just wanted to write something where hazard is just a sucker for praises and where he gets called a good boy because I’ve been salivating for something like this. (I’m going insane apologies in advance)
Summary: Hazard lately has been putting lot of work, but no one seems to be taking notice of that except you.
Hazard was exhausted, the tension from today’s mission still visible in the tightness of his shoulders as he sat slouched in the chair by the window. He wasn’t one to complain, but the way his eyes avoided yours told you how much the day had taken out of him.
“You know, you could just let me pamper you for once” you said, standing in the doorway with your arms crossed.
“Pamper me?” he scoffed, his thick Scottish accent laced with a faint growl of annoyance. “I’m nae wee bairn. I don’t need lookin’ after.”
You sighed and crossed the room, ignoring the way he tensed as you stepped closer. “It’s not about needing it. It’s about deserving it. You did more than just ‘your part’ today, Hazard. You carried the entire mission.”
He huffed, leaning back in his chair as if the conversation was already tiring him. “Ye’re makin’ it sound bigger than it was. I just did what had tae be done.”
“No, you did what no one else could do” you corrected, and before he could argue, you climbed onto his lap, straddling him.
His entire body froze, his hands hovering in the air like he didn’t know where to put them. “What are ye—”
“Sit still” you ordered, pressing your hands to his shoulders to keep him from bolting.
Hazard’s cheeks flushed immediately, the redness creeping all the way to his ears. “Yer mad” he muttered, his voice low and strained.
“Maybe” you teased, cupping his face and brushing your thumbs over the slight stubble on his jaw. “But you never take care of yourself, so someone’s gotta do it.”
His eyes darted to yours, wide and uncertain, and it only made you grin. “You’re so used to being the one in charge, aren’t you? Always protecting everyone else, always doing the right thing.” You leaned in closer, your voice soft and teasing. “You’re like a big, loyal dog. Dependable, selfless, but absolutely clueless when it comes to letting someone take care of you.”
Hazard’s blush deepened, and his jaw tightened under your touch. “Dinnae call me a dog” he muttered, his voice gruff.
“Oh, but it fits” you teased, brushing a strand of his hair out of his face. “You get all shy when someone scratches behind your ears, don’t you?”
“Don’t worry,” you said, leaning even closer until your foreheads almost touched. “I’ll be gentle.”
He opened his mouth to respond, but you didn’t let him. Instead, you whispered, “You’re such a good boy, Hazard.”
Hazard froze completely, his breath hitching at your words. His hands tightened on your waist, his eyes wide as he stared at you. But then something shifted—his lips parted slightly, and a low, shaky groan escaped him. The moment hung in the air, heavy and charged. His blush deepened, and his grip on your waist became firmer. He leaned forward slightly, his forehead brushing against yours, and you realized, too late, that something in him had clicked. Did…did he like this?
“…Hazard?” you asked softly, your teasing smile faltering as the air between you grew warmer.
His mismatched eyes locked onto yours, and this time, there was no avoiding the hunger in his gaze. “Ye keep callin’ me that” he muttered, his voice lower, rougher. “Ye dinnae even know what yer doin’, bonnie.” Your teasing confidence wavered, your heart skipping a beat. “I was just messing with you—”
“Were ye now?” he interrupted, his hands sliding up your waist to rest just beneath your ribs. “Because it’s gettin’ a reaction out o’ me I’m thinkin’ ye weren’t expectin’.”
Your mouth went dry as his words registered. You had teased Hazard plenty of times before, but this… this was new. His body, his gaze, even the slight shift of his hands—it all felt charged in a way you hadn’t meant to spark.
“Haz, I—”
“Say it again” he whispered, barely audible.
You blinked, startled. “What?”
You tilted your head, a teasing smile playing at your lips. “What, ‘good boy’? Is that what you want?”
Hazard groaned softly, his fingers digging into your hips. “Don’t make me beg, please...”
Hazard let out a low, guttural groan, his head tipping back slightly as he closed his eyes. His hands flexed against your sides, and his breath came out shaky. “Yer gonna be the death o’ me,” he muttered, though the way he pulled you closer and buried his head on your chest told you he wasn’t about to let you go.
Suddenly, regaining back your confidence you leaned in. Your lips brushing against his ear. “Oh, but I think I will” you murmured. “Come on, Hazard. I want to hear you ask for it.”
His breathing grew heavier, his hands trembling slightly as they gripped your waist. He lowered his head, his forehead resting against your shoulder as he let out a frustrated sigh. “Please” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Please what?” you asked, feigning innocence.
He growled low in his throat, lifting his head to glare at you and bucking his hips forward against yours slightly. His blush spreading all the way to his ears. “Please… call me a good boy.”
You grinned, brushing your fingers through his hair as you leaned in close. “There it is” you said softly. “You really are a good boy, Hazard.”
A low, guttural groan escaped him, and he leaned into your touch, his hands pulling you closer. His head dropped to your shoulder again, and you swore you heard the faintest, most broken whimper escape his lips.
You swallowed hard, your teasing grin now a nervous smile. “You’re… really into this, huh?”
He chuckled softly, his gaze meeting yours again, darker this time but still full of warmth. “Aye, and it’s yer fault.”
You opened your mouth to reply, but before you could say anything, With a fluid motion, Hazard scooped you up as if you weighed nothing, his strong arms securing you effortlessly. Before you could even react, he laid you down on the bed, his body following close behind. He pinned your wrists above your head with one firm hand, his mismatched eyes locking onto yours with an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine.
“Don’t start somethin’ ye cannae finish, Bonnie” he murmured, his deep, accented voice brushing against your ear like a promise and a warning all at once.
Before you could reply, his lips descended to your neck, tracing slow, deliberate kisses across your skin. A soft gasp escaped you as he added gentle nips and teasing bites, each one sending a spark of heat coursing through you. His grip on your wrists tightened slightly, keeping you in place as his mouth claimed you, marking his territory with every kiss. Maybe you had underestimated just how much your teasing would affect him—or maybe, deep down, you’d hoped for this exact moment.
1. Before Maria shows up here you can see the door open behind Shadow, which was the exact moment when she snuck in.
2. When she wanted to hold his hands to dance with him he held them out for her before she could even reach him. My boy was touch starved 😢. Hand-holding is his love language after all.
3. Her roller skates are smoking here from how fast they were going.
4. There are so many star symbols and star shaped stuff around Maria: the lights behind her are star shaped, maybe I'm looking too much into it but the wall sheets in her bedroom look like they have star symbols on them, she drew stars on her box, there are stars on her roller skates,
And we all know that she loved to look at the stars, talk about them and listen to her grandfather talking about them and her best friend was an alien. Either she was clearly interested in space or they put so many stars there to foreshadow the "light shines even though the star is gone" moment after she dies.
