River Ward's questline is so important to me and imma tell you why;
because you can finally save someone.
you can't save Jackie (your best choom) and you can't save Evelyn (who didn't deserve what happened to her) and you can't save Scorpion (who didn't deserve what happened to him) and you can't really save the dolls at Clouds, but you can save Randy and some of the other victims that were taken as well, and i can't tell you how cathartic that was for me (and my V by extension) to know that Randy's gonna be able to come home to a family who loves him.
River, the ex-cop, really said, "I trust you and only you to help me find someone very dear to me," and then you actually??? succeed?????? yes, River, i fucking love you THANK YOU FOR TRUSTING ME

Rainy Daysđ§ď¸
Hazard x Reader
A/N: Itâs been raining here for a couple of days and whatâs better than wrapping yourself in a blanket? Having a bigass bf that can give you twice the warmth.
Summary: Hazard spends time with you at your place
The storm outside raged with a ferocity that rattled the windows of your workshop. Rain lashed against the glass, and the occasional crack of thunder made you jump despite yourself. But inside, the world was warm and quiet, a sanctuary from the chaos beyond.
You sat on the worn couch in the corner of the room, wrapped in a blanket. Beside you, Hazard lounged, his arms draped casually along the back of the couch. His presence was as steadying as the glow of the workshopâs dim lights. Youâd never admit it out loud, but moments like this made your heart feel fuller than it had in years.
âYe´dont need to keep checkinâ the windowâ he said, his thick Scottish accent rolling over you like the warmest whiskey. âThe stormâs not gonna burst in here anâ take us by surprise.â
You gave him a playful glare. âMaybe Iâm just making sure youâre not going to bolt back outside for some harebrained stunt.â
Hazardâs laugh was deep and rumbling, like distant thunder, but far more comforting. âAye, Iâve done my share of daft things, but I will not be leavinâ yer side tonight. âSpecially when itâs this cozy.â
You rolled your eyes, but the faint blush creeping up your neck betrayed your amusement. âCozy, huh? Youâre just saying that because youâre hogging most of the blanket.â
âAch, come here thenâ he said, shifting to drape the blanket over you properly. His arm slid around your shoulders as he pulled you closer. âBetter?â
You hesitated for a moment, then let yourself relax against him. The solid warmth of his chest, the faint scent of smoke and metal that always seemed to cling to him, made your worries melt away.
âMuch betterâ you murmured, the words barely audible above the storm.
âYe know lass, Iâve been thinkinââ he began, his voice softer now. âIn all my years, Iâve seen explosions, chaos, anâ more close calls than I care to count. But nothinââanâ I mean nothinââcompares to moments like this.â
You tilted your head to look up at him, his expression uncharacteristically serious. âYou mean... moments where youâre not actively blowing things up?â
Hazard snorted, shaking his head. âAye, somethinâ like that. Youâve got a way of makinâ me feel... grounded. Anâ thatâs not somethinâ Iâm used to.â
Your chest tightened at his words, a warmth spreading through you that had nothing to do with the blanket. âYouâre not so bad yourselfâ you said softly, your fingers lightly tracing the edge of his prosthetic arm. âWhen youâre not driving me up the wall, that is.â
Hazard chuckled again, the sound vibrating through you. âAch, admit it, ye love it. Keeps life interestinâ, eh?â
âMaybeâ you said, a small smile tugging at your lips.
He tightened his hold on you, resting his chin atop your head. âYeâre somethinâ else, ye know that?â
The storm outside seemed distant now, its fury no match for the warmth of his embrace. Minutes passed in comfortable silence, the two of you simply enjoying the closeness. His fingers absently traced patterns along your arm, a small, soothing gesture that made your eyelids grow heavy.
âHave ye ever thought about whatâs next?â he murmured suddenly, his voice low and thoughtful.
âWhat do you mean?â you asked, tilting your head slightly to look up at him.
âThis life, the missions, the danger... itâs a wild ride. But sometimes, I think about somethinâ quieter. Maybe a small place of our own. No storms, no explosions. Just us.â His gaze softened, a rare vulnerability showing through.
Your heart swelled at his words, the thought of a future with him warming you more than the blanket ever could. You reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair from his face. âThat sounds perfectâ you whispered.
His lips curved into a soft smile, and he leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. âPerfect.â
And as the storm continued its futile assault outside, the two of you stayed wrapped in each otherâs arms, dreaming of a tomorrow filled with peace and quiet moments just like this.
Its not even something you can recognize at first. You don't know you're awake but you don't know you're asleep. Everything is soft and blurry to your senses half-awake. Your hand out on Hazard's chest, head over his arm. You had a blanket over you at some point- you think it's around your waist and legs now. You want to move and check, but that would blow away the warm fuzziness all over your body. You're halfway between real life and dreamland, and excited to go back after all.
The rain on the window above you is just loud enough to be heard over the hum of the room's air conditioning and the shuffling of early birds further out in the base. Life continues to live, but soft and muted. Rain gives soft dribbles against the wall and the occasional sharp tick against the glass. Somebody cheers in the mainroom, a car horn honks briefly. Your eyes struggle to stay open as thunder rumbles high in the atmosphere. All the white noise keeps you pleasantly numb, mind stimulated but nothing to force it awake and processing.
Hazard shuffles, a slight up and down of his shoulders. You feel the cot beneath you move, and idly move your hand. Fingers splay weakly along his chest- a partial attempt at soothing some nonexistent worry. His turn to hum, now. Even with only one arm on, he easily manages to roll you into him, arm folded up along your shoulders. He curls into you like he's clutching a stuffed animal. The temperature shift is immediate, and your eyes fall shut as the chill of the rain is washed away by the heat radiating off your lovers body.
Your face presses against him, forehead to the patchy chest hair that can grow through his various scars. Your ankles would never be able to reach his, but they can meet the end of his thighs- metal hydraulics removed for the sake of your bed sheet. He's here. You're here. It smells like Hazard- his natural odor and remnants of sweat and oil from his body mods. He hasn't needed to use his chalk, right. Because he's in bed. He's asleep, faint rumbling sinus snore as he holds you. And you're warm and safe in his arms- already asleep again before you know.
Since we're heading into colder weather, How would Cayde spend a snow day with his favorite guardian? ââ
Winter is coming- I mean, Dawning is coming. Also, Festival of the Lost is approaching. Double win?
Let see here, so we know that temperature are shifting, making the air to feel cold and nature is changing which means cuddle time. Like all the damn time. He wonât let them go and ask them to stay with him for a few more hours.Â
Drinking a hot cup of chocolate with him but he will spike his drink. He said,âIt warms me up.â In truth, you smack his hand away because he is ruining the hot choco that you make.Â
Wrapping each other with his spare capes. They can be like, makeshift blankets. Its a good idea until it becomes like a kotatsu. Cayde is your personal heater and use it every time.Â
Snowball fights. Who canât say no to that?Â
Youâll learn how to knit a scarf, mittens, sweater from attending Zavala Crochetâs class. Its super effective.Â
When you give it to him, his optics brighten and waste no time wearing them. Heâll be like, âYou make this for me? Aww⌠thanks hun.â It was the only way to protect his frame from any snow. Yes, even his horn.Â
Lazy mornings. He wonât get up and will not let you to go out from the bed. Even though he has duties to attend to. He doesnât want to go out because you are next to him.Â
When you are reading a book, heâll plopped his head onto your lap, has wrapped himself with a blanket and just, listen to your voice as you read him the story.Â
Cayde in a burrito blanket.Â
Heâll ask you to join him. So, you did.Â
Personal heater and a damn good one because he likes to hug you from behind. You practically melt upon his touch when he embrace you. Heâs just, so warm and comfy. You went to sleep land the moment his arms wrapped around your waist.Â
Watching movies with him, you laying on top of him while his arms are around your body and blankets that made out of capes to cover the both of you.Â
Having baking time with him, probably baking cookies or muffins. Sometimes, it becomes a flour war. The kitchen will become a mess. Both of you laugh at it. Donât worry, the cookies arenât burnt. They are cooked and cooled down.Â
Teaching him to make sâmores.Â
More blanket shenanigans.Â

Summary: After the reader has been avoiding Hazard due to work along with concerts, they finally meet upâŚand they meet a special guest?
The cool night air brushed against your skin as you stood at the edge, the city sprawling before you like a sea of stars, distant and flickering. You inhaled deeply, feeling the weight of the moment in the quiet, as if everything around you had paused to listen.
For the first time in a while, you felt calm, and maybe even a little vulnerable. It was just you and Hazard, standing together in a place that seemed untouched by time. You could feel the heat from his body not far from yours, but it wasnât intrusive. It was... comforting.
âSoâŚâ he began, his voice breaking the stillness. âWhy do ye always turn me doon when I try to get ye to meet up?â
You shifted uncomfortably, the question catching you off guard. You had known it was coming, but the words felt heavier than you anticipated. âItâs not just because Iâm busyâŚ" you admitted slowly, turning your gaze back to the city below. "I think I just... donât do well with people. Especially when were getting close as we areâŚ?â
Hazard watched you with an unreadable expression, his cybernetic hand resting on the railing. âPeople are hardâ he said, his voice gentle. âBut sometimes, theyâre worth the risk.â
You laughed bitterly, the sound hollow in the stillness. âMaybe. But after everything... I just donât trust easily. Two of my exes used me for fame, and the other... they were never really there for me. Itâs hard to even want to try again.â
There was a long pause. Hazard didnât say anything right away. He just studied you quietly, and when he spoke, his voice was soft. âYeâre not the problem. Those arseholes who used ye⌠theyâre the ones who missed oot.â
Your chest tightened at the sincerity in his words. He sounded so sure, and it made you feel... something. Something you hadnât allowed yourself to feel in a long time. âYou really think that?â
He nodded, his eyes not leaving yours. âI dae. Yeâve got somethinâ special, somethinâ they couldnât see. And thatâs their loss.â
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The city stretched out before you, the world a blur of distant lights. But despite the distance of everything around you, in that moment, you felt close. Vulnerable, even.
Hazard broke the silence after a long pause, his voice low, almost hesitant. âYeâre not the only one with a messed-up past, ye know.â
You turned to him, surprised by the change in tone. He wasnât meeting your eyes now. His gaze was fixed on the railing, his fingers absentmindedly tracing the cold metal.
âMy arm, my legs... they werenât always like thisâ he continued, his words slow, deliberate. âI was caught in a collapse during a mission. I didnât think Iâd make it oot. But I did. Just... not the same.â
Your heart sank, and you instinctively stepped closer, wanting to comfort him. But before you could speak, he held up a hand, shaking his head lightly. âIâm noâ tellinâ ye this for pity. Iâm just... tryinâ to say that I get it. I know what itâs like to feel like yeâre noâ enough. To feel like things arenae ever gonna get better.â
You swallowed, the weight of his words sinking in. âHazard...â
He cut you off, his voice suddenly more guarded. âBut I got through it. And I think ye can, too youâre much more than ye let on and i think thats what i likeâ ADMIRE from ye.â He turned his head, as if trying to shake off the vulnerability of the moment. âAnyway, let not talk about that, Weâre here, right? Letâs just enjoy the view.â
His attempt at a lighthearted shift was clear, but it didnât go unnoticed. The way his voice faltered, the slight hesitation in his movementsâit was as if he had almost said something else. Almost.
You watched him carefully, but he quickly straightened up, his usual confident smirk returning. âRight. Enjoy the view.â
You nodded, though a part of you could feel the shift in the air, a crack in the facade he so often wore. Your heart pounded in your chest as you realized he had almost said something more. Something deeper. But now, there was only the quiet hum of the city, and the feeling that there was something more between the two of youâsomething unspoken but undeniable.
But Just as you were about to speak again, the sound of paws scuffling along the rooftop interrupted you. Hazard looked over his shoulder, a soft smile crossing his face.
"Alright, enough of all this heavy stuff" he said, pushing off from the railing. âIâve got someoneâ Iâve been meaning to show ye.â
You raised an eyebrow, about to ask what he meant, but before you could, a small, fluffy blur bounded around the corner and rushed toward you. The little dogâs tail wagged furiously as it jumped up to greet you, barely able to contain its excitement.
"Meet Massie" Hazard said with a chuckle, stepping aside as the dog pranced over.
Massie, with her scruffy coat of black and brown fur, looked up at you with big, eager eyes. You crouched down, a smile forming on your face as the dog sniffed at you excitedly, her small frame bouncing around your legs.
"Whoa, hey there!" you laughed, reaching down to pet her. Massieâs happy yips filled the air, and you couldnât help but feel lighter as the dog licked your hand, looking up at you with pure joy.
âSheâs a bit of a handfulâ Hazard admitted, watching you interact with Massie. âBut sheâs good company. Keeps me grounded.â
You looked up at Hazard, grinning. âI can see that. Sheâs adorable.â
âYeah, sheâs been with me for a whileâ Hazard said, a softer tone slipping into his voice. âI got her after everything happened. Sheâs been the one thing that never judged meâjust... kept me company when I needed it most.â
Massie, oblivious to the deeper meaning behind Hazardâs words, wiggled in your lap as you scratched behind her ears. âSheâs definitely good at thatâ you said, feeling the warmth of the moment settle over you.
âYâknowâ Hazard added, his voice low, âMaybe this is what I needed, too. Somethinâ simple. Nothinâ complicated.â
You nodded, your fingers still gently brushing Massieâs fur. âI think I needed this too.â
As Massie snuggled in closer, her playful energy filling the space between you, you realized that the night had shifted in ways you hadnât expected. You were no longer standing on the edge of something unsure. You were here, in this moment, with Hazard, and for the first time in a long while, you didnât feel alone.
You met his eyes, a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips. âI think I could get used to this.â
Hazard raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. âJust watch out. Massieâll steal your heart before ye know it.â
You laughed, Massieâs tail thumping against your leg. âIâm starting to see that.â
And with that, the quiet comfort of the night settled around you, the hum of the city below and Massieâs soft panting the only sounds. Hazardâs presence was steady beside you, and for the first time, it felt like maybeâjust maybeâthis could be the start of something new. Something worth waiting for.
It was almost too much to process, but for once, you didnât feel like running.
Not yet.

anon requested: Hello! I was wondering if I could request Cayde-6 with C, F, J, M and N from the fluff alphabet?
C = Cuddle - how would they cuddle their s/o?
A very clingy lad, always latched onto you in some way, even if you pry him off of you he'll just latch back on, he's okay with pretty much any position, but being the little spoon is probably his favorite, he's a heavy-ish sleeper, best way to get him up is to threaten to eat all of his spicy ramen or hood morning kisses
F = Family - Do they want a Family? If they do when?
Nah, he has you Sundance, Connell, and his fireteam so thats Family enough for him.
J = Jealous - Do they get Jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
He does, but hes confident that you won't cheat. He can get very touchy when he sees someone flirting with you, be prepared for him to come up from behind and wrap his arms around your waste and smoothly inserting himself into the conversation. Giving the flirty person, a scary lil' glare as he does.
M = Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would marriage be like?
I don't think the concept of marriage is still relevant amoung Guardians, since they don't truly have any time to settle down, especially the Vanguards. But anyway-
He'd be down. He'd propose at the end of a date, that took place in on of his favorite spots in the wilderness, mf couldn't get an actual ring so he made ya a ramen ring instead, and wraps a mini hunter banner(in his colors) around your finger.
N = Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?
Babe, Babes, Baby, Honey, Hot stuff, God, my 2nd favorite ramen bowl, the one person I would totally share my ramen with, Connells 2nd parent,
[masterlist]
As the aircraft was slowly making its approach to the ground, you grew more and more nervous. Biting your fingernails, you glanced around at the heroes who you happened to befriend. There was Zenyatta, you and him didn't talk much but he seemed very calm and collected in battle. Then Mercy, or Angela as she was most commonly called, was always a wonderful person to talk to however whenever she was treating a patient you knew to never disturb her. Next there was McCree, he had a much more "rough n' tough" exterior but whenever you guys were off duty he was a bit of a charmer, though you never fell for it. Orisa followed you around a lot, mostly because she was programmed to protect others but she also genuinely enjoyed your company, or at least, you thought it was genuine. It's hard to tell with robots.
Now there was Sigma, a bit of a newer addition to the crew but he was a strong fighter and an interesting person to be around. Despite his seemingly split personalities, you two have managed to have very pleasant conversations when everyone else is asleep. Finally..Genji. Genji was the hero everyone strived to be, or that's how you saw him. He was fun and goofy whenever you guys were off the job yet calculated and passionate when in the midst of a fight, but one trait persisted on and off the battlefield: his flirty-ness. McCree was a charmer, more "old fashioned" in his wits but Genji was a lot more audacious and up-front in his advances. Unfortunately, time doesn't stop for your daydreams so by the time you got to thinking about Genji the aircraft came to a particularly rough landing, jostling you around where you so happen to fall onto none other than: the cyborg ninja himself. It took you a second to fully realize what happened, as you were so busy in thought you disconnected from the outside world. That was, until you heard Genji's robotic yet endearing voice emit from behind the mask.
"Y/N, I know you're falling for me but you don't have to be so literal about it~" He teased, holding you up so you wouldn't hit the floor. Your face went hot, you still haven't quite gotten used to his banter yet. You quickly stood up properly, removing your arms from his hands. He chuckled spotting your reaction, he had a habit of doing that. "Relax Y/N, you know I'm just teasing."
That was true, but you still couldn't help but wonder..'No, now is not the time Y/N, you're about to go into battle for fĂcks sake.' You put on a smile, shaking your head lightly in a playful manner. "Really Genji? Do you ever stop?"
"No Y/N, no he does not." The cowboy spoke up, chuckling lightly as he flicked his cigar, sending light sparks on the floor. "He won't stop talking 'bout ya eithe-"
"Jesse! What did I tell you about the smoking?!" Angela spoke up, quite literally a guardian angel in this moment as she distracted McCree from spilling all of Genji's secrets. The two went on to bicker, however the aircraft broke out in silence when the doors started to open slowly. You took a deep breath, knowing that this could possibly be your last mission. Though this was the case with every mission. HanamuraâŚWhere Genji grew up. It was truly beautiful. Y'know..despite the smoke and fire from a battle that seemingly had already begun. After another deep breath, you and your team jumped off the aircraft. As you jumped, you looked over and made eye contact with Genji. He seemed to smile, giving you a thumbs up for good luck.
You were grateful your team was victorious. You were terrified of what could go wrong, of the people they could harm. Luckily, everybody was safe. Well, everybody but you. Currently, you were buried underneath the rubble, a wound on your head and you were 90% sure you broke your foot or perhaps your whole leg. You had tried calling out for your teammates, but the oxygen was getting thin. You weren't even panicking, because you knew your team had won the battle. That's all that mattered. That everyone else was safe. You closed your eyes, blood dripping down from the wound in your head. You let out a sigh, and everything stopped. Things went black, you felt numb. You were sure this was it. Until you heard a voice that was all too familiar.
"Y/N!!" The cyborg ran towards you in full distress. Fighting the calming blackness that over took you, you opened your eyes.
After coughing, you called out. "GenjiâŚI-I'm here.." It was soft, and you weren't even sure if he could hear you. Hearing how panicked Genji was, was enough reason for you to keep fighting. He ran over to you, his enhanced robot hearing helping him greatly.
"Y/N!" He called out once more. "Y/N I'm here." He kept muttering random words, thanking the heavens you were alive, saying how stupid you were to go on your own, and then scolding himself because he was just so happy you were still here. He did all that as he moved the rubble off of you with ease. Genji relaxed greatly when he finally saw your face. Gently, he picked you up. You shuddered a bit against the cold metallic suit but quickly relaxed, your strength being all gone. "You're safe, Y/N. I promise, nothing bad will happen to you again." You nodded your head gently before closing your eyes once more, grateful for your savior.
When you finally awoke, the hiss of metal disconnecting was the first thing you heard. You stirred a little as you slowly gained back all your senses. You were laying on some kind of bed, and you were holding someone's hand. You could immediately tell who's it was though, the metallic fingers gently caressing your knuckles. You couldn't help the smile that etched on your face. You also felt some tubes run through your arm. 'Must be an IV..' Regarding your leg, it already had a cast on it and was elevated. Angela must have cared for you. After a moment, slowly, you opened your eyes while turning to look at Genji. You were a bit surprised though, when you saw he had taken his mask off. His face was scar ridden, but that never made him less attractive to you. Really you only saw him like this when he was injured, or sleeping. He was looking down, tears in his eyes. You tried reaching your other hand out to cup his face but he was a bit too far away. "Genji..C'mere.." You said softly. He immediately shot up, looking at you. The tears finally fell and he squeezed your hand.
"Y/N!! You're okay!" He smiled, tears still coming down. He leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss to your hand that he was holding. The action made you flush, yet you continued to look at the ninja in front of you. You gently cupped his face in your other hand. You couldn't tell if it was because you were weak or if you had just grown more confident, but you weren't as shy as normal. "Y/N, I am so so so sorry for letting anything bad happen to you. I promise I'll protect you now, with all my being." You smiled sadly, you didn't like the fact that Genji blamed himself and yet you were grateful for his future protection.
"Genji, none of this is your fault. I wandered off on my own, it's alright. I'm safe now with you." You rubbed your thumb softly against his rough cheek. He kissed the side of your hand that was cupping his face, and yet again you flushed. He's never done anything like that; he's never kissed any part of you before. So, a part of you couldn't help but wonder why he did it. Was it just from a place of protectiveness? Or did he truly have feelings for you? "What's important is that everyone else is safe, we saved the city." You spoke up after a moment.
The cyborg merely chuckled weakly, giving your hand yet another kiss. "Y/N, I would let a thousand cities burn to the ground as long as you were safe." He smiled softly, looking at your flustered face. "Sure it's great that we saved everyoneâŚBut if you weren't okay, I couldn't live with myself." He explained, but it seemed like he was holding himself back fromâŚwhat? His cold knuckles rubbed against yours, giving you butterflies.
You smiled as well, and squeezed Genji's hand softly. "Hey..Don't worry about that." You coughed, your torso raising from the bed with the movement. The cyborg's face immediately filled with worry. "I'm safe, you're safe..the people are safe." You reassured him, laying back against the slightly elevated hospital bed.
"Yes but-" He started, but then sooner than he had started, gave up. He shook his head, and with his free hand grabbed the missing part to his helmet. "Get some rest, Y/N. I'll be back, I have some paperwork Jack needs me to fill."
I roll my eyes at the mention, but understand regardless. "Go ahead, I know how strict he can be." You gave a weak chuckle and the ninja before you slowly let go of your hand, as if it pained him to do so. You closed your eyes, falling asleep to the soft hiss of Genji's metallic helmet connecting.
After an hour or so, you woke up to the sound of the door opening. "Genji? Is that you?" You called out quietly, head still feeling groggy from your nap. You heard a feminine laugh, and immediately recognized it as Angela's. You slowly opened your eyes and watched as she put her rubber gloves on.
"Sorry to disappoint, but no, it's not Genji. Just your resident doctor." She smiled, walking over the to monitor you were connected to, looking it over.
You blushed lightly and shook your head. "I didn't mean to look disappointed, he justâŚsaid he'll be back." You said, feeling a bit stupid for expecting him to be back this soon. "He's probably busy still.." You mumbled, trying to make yourself feel better.
Angela looked down on you and checked your head wound, smiling softly. "Don't worry Y/N, he'll be back. Jack is..upset that he ran off to find you." You tilted your head a bit. "No- No don't do that please, I need to make sure your wound isn't infected." You moved your head back, but still had many questions.
"I don't understand, why would Jack be upset at that? Doesn't he always want to save as many people as possible?" You asked, confused. You saw Angela take a deep breath out of the corner of your eye before she seemingly made up her mind.
"When we couldn't find you, we all assumed you were dead. We were given direct orders to report straight back, as there was word that there was an emergency somewhere else. Luckily some other agents were free so they got there in time, but Genji insisted on staying and looking for you. We were all heartbroken, really, but GenjiâŚHe really didn't seem like he'd live without you." She confessed, turning back to her counter with medical supplies. "Young love, right?" She joked, trying to lighten the mood.
You were stunned, and didn't say a word. 'Young love?' You thought. 'Does he..really care about me like that?' You asked yourself, thinking it was way too good to be true. But how could you ignore the obvious signs any longer? As you were overthinking your crush on the cyborg, Angela had some good news.
"You should be able to leave tomorrow. Of course you won't be able to walk, and you can't go on any missions with us, but you won't be confined to this 'hospital' for long." She smiled. "Genji has already volunteered to be your personal nurse, seems to think he can do a better job than me, but I'm sure you'll be fine on your own. We all know you're a fighter, Y/N."
You thanked her and appreciated the compliments, but you were obviously preoccupied. By mere coincidence, someone knocked on the door about five minutes after Angela knocked. "Come in!" You called, flicking through the channels of the T.V in the room. Genji emerged from the door, holding a small bouquet of flowers. You smiled seeing him, along with the nice gift. "Aww Genji, you didn't have to." You said.
His robotic chuckle emerged from the mask, and he closed the door behind him. "I've wanted to give them to you for a while, actually. So yes, it was very necessary." You couldn't see him, but from his tone of voice you can tell that he smiled. He sat back down on the chair next to your bed, putting the flowers on a nearby table. You two sat in silence for a bit before you spoke up.
"Genji..You've been really sweet to me today. First with saving me-" You started.
"Technically that was yesterday." He chimed in.
You rolled your eyes with a smile. "Oh hush, you know what I mean. What I'm trying to say- Or ask, rather isâŚDo you..have feelings for me? Maybe I'm reading this all wrong but you kept kissing my hands and got me flowers and-" You started going on a nervous ramble, hoping that something made sense and if you were wrong Genji didn't hate you. You were so nervous, in fact, that you didn't hear his helmet disconnect. In a moment's notice, Genji was mere inches from your face.
He smiled, and nodded his head. One of his hands grabbed your own, while the other tucked your hair behind your ear. "Of course I do, Y/N. How could I not? I really do care for you, and want to have a relationship with you." He kissed your forehead softly. "I'm sorry I waited this long to tell you, I just didn't want to ruin things. I thought maybe you had someone else.."
At that you chuckled, and shook your head. "No, Genji, nobody else. Nobody else but you." You leaned your face closer to the other, neither of you connecting your lips yet.
"May I kiss you?" Genji asked, voice a whisper as if he's scared that he'll ruin the mood.
"Of course you may." You answered, and just melted feeling Genji's lips on yours. There were a few scars around his mouth, but you knew that and it felt surprisingly nice. It was like a perfect moment, one that the two of you were dreaming about forever. After a moment you pulled away, wrapping your arms around Genji. "I love you, so much Genji."
