would you have any tips for being a respectful theistic satanist? i am aware that satanism is often used as an antisemitic dogwhistle as well as of the antisemitism that often presents within the field, and i do my best to recognize and combat these things and listen to jewish voices, but is there anything in particular you would recommend avoiding? i am asking in terms of actions or practices, not organizations, btw
Unfortunately, that's not really my call to make. I encourage you to bring the question to a jewish practitioner, so im gonna throw the question over to @will-o-the-witch
Weather Magic - whether it’s because a mermaid was captured and inclement weather dooms and follows whoever took them, or simply a power the mermaid has, this is something that happens often in mermaid lore. the weather and mermaids are almost intrinsically tied to one another. (ex: Sea Mithers, Ningyo, Cecelia)
Disguise - many mermaids have the ability to disguise themselves as something appealing to humans, or to hide themselves from humans entirely. the ability to transform comes in many shapes, from a cap or coat to mystical powers. Â (ex; Melusina, Â Merrow, Finfolk, Ceasg, Selkie)
Enchanted Voice - perhaps the most famous quality of a mermaid is the voice, as throughout mythology they are known for their beautiful singing. it is also a common theme that their voices can bewitch the listeners, though sometimes for less than virtuous reasons. (ex; Siren, Merrow)
Drowning - drowning can be interpreted in both the physical and metaphysical sense, to drown the spirit of a person and surround it with negative energy that is hard to rid.
Granting Wishes / Prosperity - just as a mermaid might curse varying types of doom and damnation and bad weather on those who harm or threaten them, there are those that will bless those kind to them, often with wealth and good weather. (ex; Ben-varrey, Ceasg)
Prophecy - some mermaids, though less heard of, may even prophesize the future for a human, though their reasons for doing so are often unknown. (ex; Siren, Amabie)
Crying Pearls - though it is little more than a curiosity that pops up in lore, the idea that mermaids are able to cry tears of pearls is present, though its purpose or reason is unknown. (origins in chinese lore, but doesn’t refer to any specific kind of mermaid)

Do you have any books about Lucifer or Luciferianism that you’d recommend?
i do! i have a note doc saved of book recs for just this purpose lol. here's the ones i usually recommend first:
The Devil: A New Biography by Phillip Almond
Satanic Feminism by Per Faxneld
Satan: A Biography by Henry Ansgar Kelly
The Devil's Dozen by Gemma Gary
Poetics of Iblis (not about Lucifer but about Satan in Islam, which is worth reading if that's also a perspective you want to see)
here's some that may still be useful but id take everything with a grain of salt. (either i forget what these are about so i can't vouch much for them or i personally don't agree with a good bit of the info in these but they're worth sifting through for relevant info or for forming your own opinions on his mythos tbh):
Children of Lucifer by Ruben Luijk (focuses more on how religious Satanism came to be rather than on Lucifer himself)
The Birth of Satan by TJ Wray
Pillars of Tubal Cain by Michael Howard
The Book of Fallen Angels by Michael Howard
The Devil and Demonism in Early Modern England by Nathan Johnstone (i forget if ive even read this yet djdkdk)
HI! um this might be a really dumb question, and I hope I don't offend you, but is Luciferism the same as Satanism?
It’s okay, and no, they are not the same. Luciferianism is focused more on seeing our flaws, bettering ourselves, and aspiring to apotheosis by becoming more noble (think virtues) and divine. We educate ourselves about many things, such as languages, ancient texts, social issues, etc, and try to educate others as well. We embrace the aspects of humanity such as creativity, wisdom, and passion for learning. This can come in the form of Theistic, Agnostic, or Atheistic.
I am going to be a wuss and not define Satanism and there by avoid probably fucking it up. Just to be clear they are different, but one is no better than the other.
With either, Theistic practitioners may worship one of many entities given the title of Lightbringer/Morningstar or Satan. These titles are not exclusive to the basic devil type.
Lightbringers might include Jesus, Mary, Lucifer, Eve, or Prometheus.
Satans might include Ha-Satan, Shaytan, Samaul, Set.
A lot of witches use different types of water in their practices. Here are a few. And remember intention is very important.
Sun water - vitality, happiness, strength, positivity
Sun water is made by cleansing your preferred jar in your preferred method, filling it with water, and putting the jar out into the sun for however long you would like.
River water - moving on, changing, letting go, cleansing
River water is made by collecting water from a river in a jar that has been cleansed. (Boil before consumption.)
Rain water - growth, change, cleansing, protection
Put a preferred jar that has been cleansed out in the rain.
Dew water - beauty, glamours, love, fertility, calmness
Dew water is made by collecting dew in a cleansed jar. (Boil before consumption)
War water - used for hexes, curses, bad luck, general negativity
War water can be tailored to what you have on hand. You just want to put nasty shit in there or things like rusty nails, dead bugs, moldy things, vinegar. Do not consume this at all.
I hope this information helps some people. You can always use methods that work for you. Happy witching my friends !!!
Warning about @/jesusrules, I was followed by them so they may be going around the occult/witchy side of Tumblr, likely with focus on Infernal practices. Their whole blog is bigotry, nationalism and conspiracy theories.
hey everyone!!! im not sure if anyone remembers my posts about offerings to the Sins, but i finally made a tarot spread for them (the posts can be found here and here.)!! if you want to learn how to do this spread, please read below! basically, this tarot spread is going to be about you and your relationships with each of the Sins. the cards will tell you two things:Â
what you need to improve on within yourself (having to do with the Sin you are reading for. Ex. if i pulled Ace of Cups for Asmodeus, that would mean that i would need to let my love show and work on not repressing my positive emotions)
your general status with that Sin
now, lets get to the juicy bits! each card will represent one of the Seven Deadly Sins. each Sin corresponds to a demon - each one is apart of a different kingdom within Hell. below, you’ll see which card corresponds to a Sin’s demon.Â
Pride - Lucifer. this card represents your pride and self-worth, as well as your relationship with Lucifer.
Wrath - Satan. this card represents your power over yourself and others, and your true abilities only shown by rage.
Envy - Leviathan. this card represents your jealousy towards others, and how capable you are of achieving your goals.
Greed - Mammon. this card represents your generosity towards yourself and others.
Sloth - Belphegor. this card represents your motivation and your capabilities.Â
Lust - Asmodeus. this card represents your self-love and love of others, and how much love you are willing to give.
Gluttony - Beelzebub. this card represents your need to thrive and prosper.
You - this card represents you and your path in the future.
Your past relations - this card represents your past relationships, accomplishments, and failures (having to do with the sins.).
please, please, please don’t be afraid to get into detail with the Sins! if you need to do another reading (pendulum or tarot) with one or two or all seven of them, go ahead! ask them things!! they will be happy to hear from you. well, that’s it! i hope anyone and everyone who uses this spread gets good results!!!! and let me know if you do use it!!!
