Currently thinking about Werewolf Grimmer and Vampire Tenma

if its okay, what is it about nina x tenma that appeals to u in particular ? i saw them more like family tbh but i also think they look p cute as a couple;;;

OMG ITS EVERYTHING

Everything about the bond they share is everything to me. Everything about their relationship (romantic or platonic) is very important to me.

They’re very fond of each other and at some point in the story they become the dearest and most important person in the others life. Chasing Johan for the same reasons or the same cause. Almost fighting in order to avoid the other to sh0t and become a murderer. Nina would do anything for Tenma and Tenma would do anything for Nina.

Through the whole series we saw them share very short moments together but even if it was short the amount of time they spent together the way the presence of the other affects entirely in them. And I’m rooting for that.

The simnifically large amount of parallels they share, like those moments taking care of Dieter.

Nina is entire, true and desperately devoted to Tenma, she tried so hard protecting him at all cost, whiling to her own humanity because she didn’t want him to become a murd3r3r. She wanted him to keep saving lives, to keep being a doctor.

Not to mention Tenma practically said that his life was meaningless without her, he begged her on his knees to staying alive, because he didn’t know where he would go without her.

A lot of people saw them as family but to be honest at least for me it was beyond that. The bond that grew between them it was so much powerful and complex. It was different the way Nina saw her father and the way she saw Tenma.

There’s a lot of more that I could say about them but I fear that I would write like 5k words lmao.

So yea basically that’s a very VERY short explanation of why I love them as a ship.

You’re free to disagree, it’s okay. We are all free to have our own interpretations about things. specially because Urasawa himself let a lot of things to our own interpretation. 💗 ^^

OMG I LOVE THIS QUESTION ☝️

First of all let’s clarify something that Slytherin≠ evil, villians, or bad people.

Second of all let’s settle down the Slytherin traits, at least the most significant for the house: Goal-Oriented · Ambition · Self-Confident · Cunning · Natural Leaders · Shrewd · Loyal · Self-Reliant.

Tenma is literally all of those in a healthy (or almost healthy) way.

He’s goal oriented, Tenma doesn’t take any step without a plan or a goal in mind, he’s always calculating and analyzing the area. Every step on his journey was to obtain something (Stop Johan) and not a single person on earth could stop Tenma.

Ambition is always associated with something bad. But ambition also speaks of a strong desire to achieve something specific. Here it could well be Tenma's unstoppable steps across the country to stop Johan and get rid of him at any cost. Also his vision to save as many people as possible, "to the last consequences."

Slytherins are people who will do anything to achieve and accomplish their goals. Tenma is someone who would do anything for his own goals (of course always without compromising anyone or seeking not to harm anyone around him) but is capable of sacrificing himself. Although it is clear that to protect someone else if he has to, he will resort to measures of violence and the use of weapons.

He is someone who forced himself to almost give up little by little his humanity in order to pursue, find and finish Johan.

Tenma is a truly intelligent, cunning person, but over time he became too calculating and surly. Such a characteristic and the circumstances made him to reveal a part of him that wasn't so outspoken. We learned that Tenma is actually an omnipresent observer, on more than one occasion we were unaware of his whereabouts, but not because he was elsewhere but because he was there observing and analyzing from the shadows to generate the big picture and thus be able to proceed to action in a premeditated and calculated way.

In Another Monster we got to know a bit more about Tenma's personality from the perspective of people who have known him since he was a child. Here we discover that Tenma is actually a very selective person with his friendships, and it was overemphasized that gaining Tenma's trust is really difficult. Yes he’s sweet and for him, human relationships are extremely important but to gain Tenma’s trust you have to prove him you’re worth it.

From Ch. 1 we know that Tenma is always a warm and kind man to all people, however, gaining his trust and friendship is certainly "conditional" on the attitude of the person in question that he demonstrates to Tenma.

A lot of people he would considerate him a Hufflepuff and I can see it but Tenma’s philosophy in some cases differs a lot from Hufflepuffs philosophy and matches Slytherins.

Well my favorites are these

Tenma/Grimmer and Tenma/Nina (I put these together because I love those ships equally I could talk about them for HOURS)

Eva/Tenma (Yeah I know everything that happened between them but I love the idea of the second chance romance lol)

Eva/Martin (obvious reasons)

Tenma/Rudi (academic rivals it’s just ON POINT)

Tenma/Lunge (lmao I like that ship bc is funny to me and I love that)

And Lowkey I enjoy Grimmer/Lunge

So yea practically I love almost every Tenma ship (it’s not my fault that he is the most shippable mf in this anime)

Honorific mentions: Suk/Johan (Its not like I ship them seriously but I enjoy this ship because it’s SO FUNNY TO ME the whole situation in Prague made me wheeze every single time. And the memes and fanarts are amazing, so bonus points)

And my least favorites

Well the rest of the monster ships doesn’t care to me, but if I’m gonna say a ship that I DON’T LIKE, it has to be Nina/Johan, I hate that ship with A BURNING PASSION.

And I don’t like Tenjoh that much to be honest, but the fanfics and fanarts are cool tho
