roxas trying to kill a heartless
In my own little 'I can help *this* one' scream into the universe, I've been de-stringing the feet of the pigeons that live in the park across from my office.
Pigeons (rock doves) are feral, and they live in our cities. With our rubbish. They get string (human hair, fishing line, threads, etc) wrapped around their feet when they do their little circling dance, or from their nests, and they can't get it off themselves. So they limp along as best they can, for as long as they can. They're pretty tough little guys! If you start to look, you'll probably notice a lot of them are missing toes or have strictures holding their feet in painful positions. Some even have both feet bound together.
But the good news is - it's actually SUPER easy to help them!
This little guy had thread around one foot, and wire and nylon line around the other. I removed it on my lunch break on Monday, and now he's already walking easier and won't be losing any more toes.
The photo is from the next day, because he came back to hang out again without hesitation. They're very friendly.
People really hate pigeons, which is a bit unfair considering we are the ones who brought them in to our cities in the first place. If you want to make a world of difference to some lives that don't get a lot of love any more, check out the below for everything you need to know.
Riku is so cool.
Okay, but what if in KH4, we get a Wreck-it Ralph world and it’s not Game Central Station.
Litwak’s Arcade. Sora goes to Litwak’s Arcade and his friends are inside the games looking for him, trying to reach him.
You play as Sora, who himself is playing as the Guardians of Light in various pixel art styles, in parodies of games. They’re trying to communicate to him, they can see him, but at the same time he doesn’t recognize them.
They’re trying to send little signals the best way they can. But if they don’t follow the arcade machine input, the Wreck-it Ralph characters will see our Guardians of Light as doing the equivalent of going turbo.
There could be parts that follow either group’s perspective, too. Maybe they try playing by the game’s rules at first. Then when it doesn’t work, we could follow the characters going turbo, exploring inside the machines themselves.
Here are some ideas for what games I would put the characters in below the cut:
Nooot sure Riku would be there if he’s also in Quadratum, but my gut tells me some variation of platformer like Donkey Kong or Mario for him— It’s also the genre for Wreck it Ralph itself, which, worldception makes sense if Riku is here. (This would also reference his running-up-building gymnastics in Another Side, the damsel in distress nature of Sora rn, and the urban setting of Donkey Kong).
I wouldn’t be opposed to Riku in a first-person shooter or stealth game either, depending on how his relation to Yozora turns out, he could parry Xemnas’ lasers like crazy in KH2
We already know MelMem is a rhythm game, so Kairi would probably be in a game like DDR or Guitar Hero if she were there. But I’d also dig seeing her in a collect-a-thon where we can finally level her up as a Princess of Heart
Donald and Goofy in either Duck Hunt or a gummi ship version of Galaga (low hanging fruit)
I can see the sea salt family playing as the Ghosts in Pac-Man!
I’m also imagining Roxas in Pong (“It’s just like struggle bat!”)
And I want Axel in Street Fighter because he’s always talking smack. Rematch between Lea and Ventus imminent
Xion could haunt the Photo Booth, alternatively— Sora snaps a picture of himself and we get a reversal of their relationship in Days.
I am also going to suggest Rampage using keyblade armored forms, either hers (since she’s huge wtf) or the Wayfinder trio’s
I could see Naminé being in Q-Bert, except completing the field with your colors could be somehow connected to memory reparation and data mechanics. I can also see her in a Kirby world, since the Kirby worlds tend to be arts and crafts themed, and she’s also technically a replica now
Ventus, Aqua, and Terra in Sugar Rush, except their cars are based on their gliders— it just makes more sense for them than anyone else, I think
Going to Hero’s Duty would probably trigger Aqua’s Land of Darkness PTSD, but this time she’s not alone and Terra (and/or King Mickey or Ventus) comes with her. This would be a really good game for both of them, actually, because Cybugs could be an analogy for darkness stealing your form
Joust, but it’s Cloud Strife riding a chocobo
Last suggestion? Dream Eater claw machine. I want to see Sora with Meow Wow plushies
alright @stargazing-zani tagged me in this

Last song: Jesse McCartney performing Seal's Kiss From A Rose on the Masked Singer as his cool turtle fursona who said that. I also listened to his version of Bleeding Love for a full day this week
Favorite color: Xanthophyll yellows
Last book: it's all just fanfiction 😅 War Machines by AhsokaTheBrave is my favorite portrayal of Nuts and Dolts bar none and is drip feeding me some powerful mighty love. I cannot recommend it enough. By the way, any KH fans know of some good Xion-centric fics?
Last movie: The Wild Robot / Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (as per friend recommendation)
Last TV show: skip? I haven't watched anything since I sat down for Arcane pt 1 with Star
Spicy/Sweet/Savory: Uhhh honestly it's more about the texture and I probably prefer sour-bitter flavors like vinegar and lemon and spicy mustard and olives. but uh. milky-sweet's fine. bubble tea is really good. rose matcha, taro, oolong, i like those flavors best.
Last online search: toontown bats
Current obsession: 👑 Kingdom 💛 Hearts, I've been playing Days and KH1 simultaneously
Looking forward to: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Graduating with my degree ig. this final semester's gonna be all studio classes so I just hope I can make some decent stuff and not have it be an utter beatdown

As is stated in the title, this is some people I'd like to know better. Sorry if I missed a mutual!
Is that ASGARD in my FROZEN??? (unsubtle rainbow bridge) Is that Ymir's shadow hunting them?? Are we making Atohallan = Muspellheim??? :0 Is Elsa a Vanir in 2027???? HELPPP (we are SO getting a complicated second layer to where her powers come from)
+no shot, if anyone sneaks canon comparisons between Elsa and Fenrir into this, I'll need to be fettered
I know we explore Norse mythology plenty in the Frozen expanded material. We get Skøll as Hans' heartless in KH3, draugr in Polar Nights, and viking constellations in Forest of Shadows (they also pull Aren's mythical sword out of a viking dragon-ship and use it to fight a giant nattmara wolf, so). Usually a lot of the viking-age Scandinavian legend, such as creatures mentioned in the Eddas, are tied to specifically Arendelle's history though.
This promo seems to imply that the Enchanted Forest has some connection with Asgard (I am assuming it is Asgard for now). Or at least we are geographically taking off from there.
Which could come at the expense of Northuldra story? Diff culture. Not every fairytale race is related to the Enchanted Forest, or needs to be-- we have the trolls in the Valley of the Living Rock and Huldrefólk at Miner's Mountain. Although! Nøkk is a more Norse legend as well, yet acts as Northuldra's respected water spirit, so: not unlikely that the Northuldra may honor the existence of Norse spirits. (They may not even appear much at all.)
ohhh fuck. i can smell the magnus chase crossovers three years away. what have you DONE /lh
but I'm just so so excited. What if the crystals from F2 were runic and Anna learned galdr so she could have a moment like Gerda's magic prayer in the Snow Queen? What if we had magical ravens, like the talking ravens in the Hans Christian Andersen fable? What if Elsa argued with the Nornir about destiny, or Olaf bantered with Heimdall and unintentionally caused Ragnarok? What if Kristoff accidentally used Andvari's ring for the vows and gave us the most glorious Disney dragon moment since Maleficent? And come on, Anna with a battleaxe and bloodlust?!
Ironically, first seeing this was the direction after F2, I felt unfavorably about stacking on brand new lore, thinking it might rehash the "newfound community arc" which would make it infuriatingly harder to develop old and new relationships from previous movies (for weak reasons)
This is because Elsa's new power from Frozen II wasn’t really something magical: she still has ice, she’s always had ice, and it’s not like her ice got any more OP than it already was. (F1 already proved she can bring snowmen to life, build entire castles in less than five minutes, and freeze a whole ass fjord. I don't think stopping the flood or talking to a sentient glacier topped all that.) What she gained was fellowship with other magical beings and people who understand magic-- a community to help. Not to mention the closure in knowing that her mother would have accepted her, affirmation that she has a purpose, and freedom to assume new roles.
I do want the new movie to spend time using the new lore to steady our characters though, not the other way around. Can't always become something new to move forward, yknow? Gotta nurture what she has instead of breaking the absolute ceiling eventually.
but seeing them break the absolute ceiling is liberating every time so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
actually wait. who's running arendelle right now?
First piece of concept art for Frozen 3 (2027) by Brittney Lee revealed at D23 Expo 2024
I straight up forgot I had this in my files...
From like February.
