Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.

We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.

The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.

Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.

Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.

There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.

Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.

We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

i really didn't want to make this, but I feel like I have to beacause I don't like my stuff being used freely without permission.

The @/minahatwahyummyuyu user has reposted other people's art as well (mostly WoF and HTTYD related) please report their account so this doesen't keep going. DO NOT harrass/interact.

The full story is:

I saw a comment of theirs on my Chameleon post, where they said a user on YouTube reposted their content without permission, for what I could get.

(Later I checked the channel they were "calling out" and I'm pretty sure it's actually the original creator of the content)

Making sure it wasn't some bot, I checked their account and found out that they have A LOT of artwork reposted without credit and likely without consent from the original creators:

When I asked them why they reposted my art they simply deleted the previous comment and immediately commented the same exact thing. This happened 3 times

(2 before and 1 after I told them I was gonna make a beware post if they kept the stolen art up). ⬇️

After the second time I asked them why they reposted my art they responded like this⬇️

But since the stolen content was (and is) still up I gave them an ultimatum and they just re-commented the same copypasta from before

At this point I went straight to the beware.

Again, don't harrass or generally interact with this person. Only report the posts.

I wouldn't even have made this but it annoys me that someone would just think they can repost my stuff to make some quick engagement. It also didn't only happen to me.

The best thing about this is that they seem to get barely any notes from the reposted stuff.

The weird thing is that they also REBLOGGED my drawing before reposting it without permission so idk.

Rabbit and Fox

Rabbit: Born weak and sickly he’s never been able to do much. His heart and general chest is weak and runs poorly. He cannot fight and can barley work for long without suffering from lethargy, coughing fits, and in worse cases vomiting. Because of his sickness, he stays home and is constantly protected by his older brother. He feels bad about being such a burden to his brother but is happy to work on making fur clothing and fur-built wears to try and help them out. 

Fox: Being low ranking he cannot properly provide medical care for his little brother, the same condition that took their mother after she laid their eggs. He joins hunting parties and takes dangerous hunting jobs to provide and get what's needed to keep his brother healthy as their the only family they have. The stress makes him grumpy and not being strong and darker in color leads to constant ridicule which all stacks up over time.
