as someone whos a black woman and going through some visual worries .. about to see if im okay, i really need people to understand this! the intersections when it comes to these things are very important! it makes being just.. alive, so hard and honestly I don't blame people for wanting to // cause they cant handle the pain of it all. i hope to find other girls like me in this predicament so i can get some support

So it’s Black History Month, and due to that I feel the need to raise awareness for our disabled and neurodivergent Black brothers and sisters and nonbinary siblings. We in the disabled/neurodivergent community, especially white folks, have a responsibility to acknowledge the fact that the place at the intersection between ableism and racism is a dangerous and even deadly one for many, many people. Black disabled and neurodivergent folks are at significantly higher risk for police violence, employment and housing discrimination, abuse, lack of medical/community support, and other forms of violence and harassment than their white peers.

Autism and ADHD aren’t whites-only conditions. Schizophrenia isn’t a whites-only condition. Down Syndrome isn’t a whites-only condition. Depression and anxiety aren’t whites-only conditions. Deafness and blindness aren’t whites-only conditions. PTSD isn’t a whites-only condition. Wheelchairs and canes and service animals and other disability aids aren’t only for white people. Black folks are in our community too, and they deserve a voice and love and support just as much as white folks.

Karr and Nage are two (previously mentioned) splatoon ocs.. they were present in the audience during spl2s Callie concert, which turned them into big Callie fans, yet feeling great resentment to inkling society even still. possibly because Marie "took" Callie away from them.. their end goal is to do everything in their power to restore octarian society's power and return it to its former glory, by whatever means necessary. Also, they're convinced their acne is cool because it makes them like Callie, utterly convinced that's what a beauty mark is

Karr's the more loud and brash of the two, prone to making herself the center of attention and being the foil that keeps Nage's days interesting. I based a bit of her design on gyaru fashion, especially the kneesocks and blonde-ish hair, when their army fell into Alterna i'm sure she screamed and passed out knowing their new outfits looked so awesome.

Nage isnt as predictably professional as she seems, and is easily influenced by Karr's whims while maintaining a nonchalant attitude about it. She's direct and straight to the point with their work, and seems to be the only one aside their bosses and Octavio himself that can convince Karr to do anything, no problem.

NOOO OLD GERMAN MAN!!! DON’T GO INTO THAT PARADE!!!

pom poko was one of my fav ghibli movies as a kid and i still stand by it being bizzare but good, it gets harrowing at times but is just a really interesting movie because its trying to be a documentary and a fantasy adventure and slice of life all at once??? its, yeah

Pom Poko fascinates me, I've watched it about 3 times now. I didn't discover it until I was an adult (Howl's Moving Castle was Baby Bones' Ghibli movie) and at first I thought it was kinda weak but...

I've never seen another movie that was able to capture the feeling of group in-fighting and procrastination tanking a movement quite as well as Pom Poko. At every point, it feels like there's a drastic but obvious solution to their problem, which is only attempted too late.

Centrists and "level-headed" members of the Tanuki clan deescalate the passion of the more radical members, and yet, prevent them from taking acceptable (but still losing) pathways out of the conflict. It's a REALLY easy to miss detail that the same Tanuki leader who refuses the Fox's job offer, dooming his comrades to the worst case scenario, is the very same one who is selling undeveloped real estate at the end of the movie.

Because the Tanukis can't organize, can't agree to fixing the problem before it gets too bad, because Bunta keeps getting injured or neutralized, every sacrifice is in vain. They have to find some crummy 'silver lining' in their home being reduced to a golf course, half of their population working with chronic fatigue in a society not built for them, and the other half literally homeless.

But that's the Tanuki as we're shown all movie long; unable to get serious, finding simple joys and pleasures as paradise is pulled like a rug from below their feet, literally pleading to the humans in the audience to fix their problems for them.

It really stuck with me. I wanna get a nice copy on DVD lmao
