What is Phic Phight?

Phic Phight is a Danny Phantom fan-fiction writing competition, were writers are asked to provide prompts. Then they are split into two teams; team ghost and team human. The teams are given prompts from the opposite team and gain points for creating fics based on the prompts. The winner gains bragging rights for the year. This was created as a friendly competition to inspire new ideas and stories for the phandom.

Phic Phight begins April 1st and ends April 30th.

You will be required to join the new Phic Phight discord server to participate.

I'm literally counting down until @green-with-envy-phandom-event starts, so here's the last lineart I drew for it which really just represents how team yellow is going to be crowned champions this year :-)

The batfam overhear him say time and wonder who jazz is, only for a few weeks later Danny is on a study binge and hasn’t slept

Next thing they know the door is slammed open and a red head is wielding a bat identical to Danny’s

Danny: sweating “Jazz wait, I can explain”

Jazz: bouncing the bat on her shoulder “Bed. Now”

Danny: bolting to his room “YES MA’AM”

The bats then discover that there’s someone who can scare even Danny

You know I've seen a few variations on "Danny is the one who can make the batfam sleep" now and most of them are powers-based or him being a tiny new orphan who is so so sad if you don't take care of yourself-based

May I propose another variation: Danny, having moved into the manner a month ago and long discovered all of the relevant secrets (without the others knowing) can tell their lack of self-care is weighing on Alfred.

Alfred is the one he's seen the most in his time there - the others have spent time with him, of course, but they all have their night jobs and work or school away from home (Danny is doing online classes so he can work at his own pace) - so he's not at all happy about Alfred being stressed.

Danny calls a family meeting.

He's built an app, he tells them, and each of them can access their own timer on their phones - yes he already downloaded it to each of them.

Yes, those are how long you've been awake, he tells them. Yes, he's sure they have noticed Tim's absence - Tim was on hour 35. The maximum allowed is 24.

If one's timer reaches 24, Danny will find them, and he will put them to sleep manually.

How? Danny hefts the Fenton creep stick pointedly.

Someone points out he could give them a concussion or kill them that way.

Danny says he's had a lot of practice judging swings.

He also maybe bribed Nocturne for a large amount of sleep dust. The bat is just for a deceptive bonk (and they will be getting a bonk, if a light one) as they go out so he doesn't have to explain himself - they'll just think he's really that good at judging swings.

Someone goes to find Tim to prove he's just bluffing. Except Tim is actually asleep.

Danny doesn't use any ghost powers, he's just that sneaky and he's keeping a close eye on the timers. No matter how they try to avoid him it simply doesn't work. He hacks the doors, he's good at combat the one time someone noticed him sneaking up on them, and he's such a good sneak that most of the time they don't notice him until it's too late (even more impressive once they actually start paying attention to their timers to try and anticipate him).

They don't all live together. That doesn't help.

Danny took a bus to Tim's apartment while claiming he was going on a jog to avoid suspicion. He hitchhikes all the way to Crime Alley to put out Red Hood. Nowhere is safe.

It becomes very obvious he knows about their secret IDs. It also becomes very clear that he only really cares about whether or not they're sleeping.

And they're in!

Find your teams, Dear Colorists! They'll be your close comrades for the rest of the battle!

YOU KNOW WHAT while im on this hill heres my handwriting headcanons for the gang because why not

like canon, danny writes in cursive but instead of the really swirly/loopy version shown in the show i imagine it being more streamline and mixes print for capital letters especially as he gets older. when he’s younger/in middle school it looked more like in canon. he also occasionally draws stars by his signatures

sam is slanted print, with that “all caps but smaller to indicate lower caps” kind handwriting. its very quick and sharp, and she always writes in pen. somehow she never makes a mistake and its mildly terrifying watching her pen snap across the page with each letter

EVERY tech inclined person i have EVER met has shitty handwriting, i dont think i even fully captured the essence of how they write here but i did my best. in my experience, its because these kinds of people always type during their formative years instead of writing by hand so thats why tucker’s is kinda wobbly and messy

danny as phantom doesnt actually have different handwriting but for the sake people not connecting phantom to the only other person in amity who still writes in fucking cursive, danny essentially created a whole different form of writing solely for autographs. the first time he signed something for someone, he actually made a mistake trying to wholly print out his words and scribbled it out but realized he could turn his little cross out into a little ghost. after that, he always stylizes his signatures with the little ghost cross out thing
