tj being the cutest in this very cursed interview x
bonus:
Get Scared fans..
(This is gonna be a long post)
Please take 3 seconds to think before you say something. Especially if you’re gonna talk about someone you don’t know personally!
I’m not the most active in the Get Scared community, but I still see things. And recently I’ve been seeing a lot of drama. I see it on Instagram, I see it on Reddit, I see it on Discord, and I see it here on Tumblr. Keep in mind that drama is not a good first impression for new Get Scared fans who might want to start interacting with our community.. It’s very noticeable to others when we aren’t a big group of active fans online at the moment. YOU are noticeable when you make drama out of unnecessary things. Don’t get in the way of other people enjoying the band or wanting to be a part of our community. There are a lot of kind people here, don’t overshadow them with your negativity.
It’s also worth mentioning the constant shaming of the Get Scared band members. I’m so tired of seeing it. Obviously I’m not talking about the band members doing problematic things you CAN shame them for.. But there are certain things you have no place to shame/judge.
Before you talk or judge, think about this:
Do you really know what happened?
Do you actually know them well enough to speak on it publicly?
Do you know what they’re going through, or are you judging a situation you’ve NEVER had to be in?
Is what you’re saying helpful? Is it informative? Is it needed?
Is it a fact or are you just assuming? Have you actually heard it from one of the band members, or AT LEAST gotten valid proof of it, or is it just a rumor you’re spreading around?
Would you say it directly to the person you’re talking about?
What you say can always reach the person you’re talking about. If you wouldn’t want that to happen, you probably shouldn’t say it at all.
One last thing I want to mention:
Nick’s mental health, family life and addiction is NOT something you should use as an excuse to talk shit. You have no idea what’s going on in his personal life, you don’t know why he has done certain things. None of us do, unless he has told you about it himself. I bet there aren’t a lot of you who have struggled with addiction, because people who genuinely have struggled with it wouldn’t be taking about it the way some of you do online. It’s not a topic you should joke about. It’s not your place to spread assumptions all over the internet. You don’t know everything, and you don’t need to know everything either. Don’t dig around for private information, just let people have their privacy and personal space. That goes for anyone in a similar situation, not just Nick.
Thankfully there are a lot of kind and respectful people in this community. Let’s try our best to keep things positive, and be a little bit more understanding. It’s not healthy to focus on negativity or other people’s lives all the time.
That’s all I had to say, with good intentions. Bye.
bestie, we know
There's a cool fun fact I learned today, the MV of Phantom from Natewantstobattle and the album The Dead Days from Get Scared released on the same day, April 19th
However The Dead Days released a year after Phantom :D
while i have come to peace with the fact that i’m never gonna see get scared live, but it still stings that i had many chances as a teenager and just couldn’t afford to go for that reason
these two albums coming out on the same day the day before halloween did a lot of mental damage to fifteen yr old me
I WANT THEIR HAIR
Shopping at Daiso- taken on my digicam ^o^
If you are genuinely following Mandopony or Joel and support the both of them
Don’t even TRY to pull “but i can separate art from the artist” card
