So I'm working on a costume design project for She Kills Monsters, and I was talking to my teacher about how I was having trouble with Lilith's costume because I was unsure what was too much and how appropriate I need to keep the costumes, and the response I got was to "Look up Rocky Horror Show". This WIP has been kicking my ass but I swear that I'm actually gonna finish this one

Does anyone have advice for improving your art? I know practice is important, but other than that I don't know much genuine advice. I've tried digital art for the past year, but I'm drawing with my finger on a not so good tablet so it's not ideal. I think that traditional art is a little easier to control since I can actually feel myself drawing. I usually draw with no plan in mind because I think my art turns out better that way, but I want to learn how to draw my favorite characters.
