The last days of the petition against conversion therapy are FASCINATING to watch. I have been following it pretty closely for almost a year now, and the progress was, above all, steady. There was this jump when some algorithm in Finland picked it up, but even that was local.
And now, everyone is panicking.
Which really shows.
These past three or four days, multiple countries have reached the threshold. Even more notably, the number of signatures in total, the ones that we need to get one million of, are growing rapidly. There are only 400'000 signatures missing. Two days ago, it was closer to 600'000.
You can see the progress here:
Consider joining the fun by making everyone around you sign it!
May 18, 2025 - Over a 100.000 people marched in The Hague, the Netherlands, to condemn the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people, and the complicity in this genocide of the Dutch government, universities, businesses and other institutions. Most protesters came to the protest dressed in red, saying "we are drawing the red line! Israel has to be stopped here!", because even open ethnic cleansing, bombing of hospitals and ambulances, deliberate starving of children, constant war crimes and open genocide in general apparently aren't a red line for Israel to cross in the eyes of the Dutch government. Oh what a time to be alive, I think, as I look at the results of the EU election in my home coutry, Germany.
The second-strongest group in my home country (AfD) is far-right, supports Putin (even had Russian spies in their midst), wants to literally DESTROY the EU, wants to revoke women's and LGBTQ+ people's rights, -
and that's just the beginning. And I can tell you where it'll end. And we had that same situation about a hundred years ago. Back then, Germany lost its constitution and started a genocide. And yes I'm talking about the Nazis.
I am scared. Not just of this political climate. I am scared because a lot of the people I know and am lucky to call my friends and acquaintances don't have a German passport, and because this party will want to get rid of them, or do anything they can, at least.
I am scared, because I am a trans man undergoing hormone therapy. It is, regrettably, a very vulnerable situation to be in in this political climate, because all they need to do is ban one type of medicine and claim it to be harmful-
or perhaps they will just revoke my rights to exist peacefully completely.
I am scared, because all this literal danger to the German constitution needed to do was speak a few pretty words for the camera, post it on Tiktok, and the people believed them blindly. So many haven't read the election program, so many don't know what these people want to do-
but they hate the other parties. So why not elect the one party that actively threatens the freedom and equal rights of our country?
I am scared. Maybe I won't be first in line to be shot, but I am standing in the queue.
And what scares me even more is that I can't understand HOW this situation could even happen. Were our voices not loud enough? Didn't we cry out and warned them often enough? Why did so many people choose to ignore the riots, the pleas, the thousands and thousands of voices?
Just "to make a statement"? Is voting against peace and against freedom and against equality a protest now? Is humanity so easily influenceable that they tune out all the voices on the streets? Or was I just optimistic, am I really just living in a country where we want war and supression and censors and dictators-
because that's what this is going to boil down to. And I am scared.
Scared of this country. Scared of the people in it. Scared of the future. Scared of what this predicts for the next election in 2025. Scared of the visibly easy manipulation of the masses.
Scared, because I KNOW that history repeats again and again and again and again and we claim to learn from it;
and yet, we don't.
POTTER: I was transferred here seven days ago. Seems like I've been operating for eight. HAWK: And this has been an easy week. I've about had it.
While we continue to donate to personal evacuation funds, I think it is crucial to keep in mind that these individuals as well as millions more in Gaza are currently actively in need of basic necessities like food, water, shelter, and medical care. Keeping this in mind, and recognising that there is no way to know when the border crossing with Egypt will reopen, I think our attention should also be on raising funds for organisations currently on the ground who will have the widest impact on the lives of Palestinians who are still enduring the genocide in Gaza.
Below are some verified donation links of organisations that are currently providing assistance for the people in Gaza directly:
Taawon has launched a campaign to provide support in Gaza through food parcels, shopping vouchers, fresh produce, water bottles and shelter tents.
Watermelon Relief is a project initiated and implemented by a group of activists in Gaza, who work to provide aid to displaced families in Gaza through meals, support and activities.
World Food Programme (WFP) managed to provide assistance to more than 1 million people in Gaza in May by delivering food in shelters, makeshift camps and shops.
Life for Gaza is an initiative through which the Municipality of Gaza aims to provide basic necessities for the people of Gaza such as water projects, waste collection and the reconstruction of roads.
Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is working to plant farmlands in Gaza through their "Revive Gaza Farmlands" project, through which they had already started planting vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in Gaza.
Purchasing eSIMs is one of the only remaining ways to keep Gazans connected with the outside world, to get their stories out or even enable them to call for help after Israeli strikes.
The Sameer Project is a donation based aid initiative that provides tents, cash aid, diapers and formula for displaced families in Gaza.
Care For Gaza is an organisation that works to provide essential aid such as food packages and cash to deliver to displaced families in Gaza.
Palestine Children's Relief Fund, through their "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign, plan to provide essential medical supplies and treatments, as well as food and clean water.
Mutual Aid for the People of Gaza is a fundraiser managed by Mona in Gaza, who personally purchases and distributes basic supplies including food parcels to families in Gaza.
Help Gaza Children is another grassroots effort operating on the ground in Gaza to support families with food, water and clothing.
Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) provides medical supplies and supports healthcare services in Gaza.
Gaza Wound Care is a medical team in a tent in Nuseirat, providing care to children and supporting pregnant women.
Children Not Numbers is an NGO dedicated to providing medical care for the children in Gaza including delivery of medical aid and medical evacuation for children.

If youre looking for a way to visibly support Palestine whilst also financially supporting a family-owned Palestinian business, then please consider purchasing a Hirbarwi Keffiyeh.
They are a traditional clothing item for Palestinians, and they have become a symbol of solidarity with Palestine for people all around the world. You do not have to be an Arab or a Muslim in order to wear one. According to the Hirbarwi Mission Statement page: To the world the kufiya will forever be a symbol of liberty. Those who wear it express their desire to see all people, across the world, live peacefully and with self-determination.
They can be warn as a shawl, or a scarf, or a headpiece, or any way you like so long as it is done respectfully. They come in a huge array of colours -- though the one most traditionally known with Palestinian solidarity is the original black and white design.
The Hirbarwi factory is the only original Keffiyeh factory left, and is the only place left in the world that still makes true, Palestinian Keffiyehs. All others -- even the ones that claim to be Palestinian owned/made -- are imitations that have been made in a country like China or India. If they don't have the Hirbarwi logo, then they're fakes.
The factory in Palestine is temporarily unable to ship any new orders, due to both the blockaide and the overall crisis in Gaza, but they are taking pre-orders for later, so you can give them money now and get your delivery once the borders open -- OR, you can purchase through one of their verified international partners, who are listed on their website.
If the stockist in your nearest country is sold out (i know that the Australian stockist is entirely sold out), then check the others. The one listed for Ireland ships internationally and looks like they still have plenty of stock.
