From a surgical nurse and certified CPR teacher:
Please pause for 2 minutes and read this:
1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.
4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.
11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.
12. If this message comes around you... more than once… please don’t get irritated... You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.
please take the time and boost this post by reposting it and sending it to those you love because we all need to understand how to quickly deal with heart attacks
being poor is so mind numbingly boring. you can't afford hobbies, leisure activities, games, books, music, transportation for going to places, some people can't afford internet or a phone. entertainment is seen as a complete and total luxury, but what people don't realize is that people need to be entertained.
there is nothing left to do for fun that's completely free. parks are tiny and meant for dogs, mostly, they're unsanitary as hell because there's mostly just dog waste everywhere. getting to the park costs money. kids and adults alike cannot just go "play outside". adults aren't even allowed to "play," we gawk at adults who stop to play with bugs or look at small animals. adults aren't allowed to play pretend it's seen as weird. kids don't have anywhere to go- they're considered "loitering" or an annoyance if they hang around anywhere for too long. not everyone can go to bars.
it is necessary for our mental health to have things to keep ourselves entertained with. people often get caught up on a poor person having one nice thing for themselves, but after a while, that 1 nice thing gets boring, too. people need variety. we need stimulation. we need input. we need to experience the world, too
i was told by my own therapist and case worker that people need entertainment and happiness to survive. humans are not wired to suffer 24/7, no one has to earn entertainment. if you think i'm pulling things out of my ass, i'm not. multiple mental health professionals in my own life have confirmed that people need to have fun or their health will suffer. mental health is connected to physical health. you know nothing if you think this is factually inaccurate.
poor people shouldn't be relegated to boredom and never experiencing life and what the world has to afford. the entirety of entertainment should not be paywalled. people should not have to pay entry for every single event in their area, or try to find free events and struggle to pay for the transportation. it's not good for your mental health.
i love fur, i love leather, i love wool, i love long lasting materials without plastic in them that will decompose and go back into the ecosystem after serving me well for several decades.
being so fr with you all we need to drastically accelerate anti-car propaganda.
we need to make it so clear to future generations that we no longer tolerate a world where you cannot conveniently go for a walk or get a coffee or get groceries without a car
reaching the point of hyperfixation where I can no longer engage with it due to the nausea that I experience at the mere thought of seeing it on my screen is the closest I’ve ever been to being diagnosed with female hysteria
Y'all, I think that the shonen fandoms I enjoy need to up their hurt/comfort smut game. Like, half of these characters have tried to kill themselves, and the other half have had to pull them from those cliffs with their own bare hands. You're telling me that jokey gratsu fucking is the best you can do? Have you considered the amount of feels you can put into that shit? Gray and Natsu have both lost a ton of people they care about, and now you have the opportunity to write a couple of stupid possessive boys going at it and you're gonna JOKE THE WHOLE TIME?? I want the "I will show you how much you mean to me, I will make you understand. I would crawl inside your ribcage if I could, I would eat you alive if it kept you safe." I WANT THE FREAK SHIT. I WANT THE DYNAMIC OF "you're the only one who can cool me down" AND "you're the only one who can keep me warm"
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK
Me: I'm normal
Also me: *makes a slideshow about male sexual assault and how we really don't talk about it enough and how in media it's frequently glossed over or made into a joke, and uses DC comics as one of my literary examples and talks for half an hour about it while still leaving some bits out* ...

Saw someone wondering about how the buildings in gotham are chipped from years of the bats grappling everywhere and am now imagining
- the bats swing around all the time but in certain areas they tend to parkour instead of grapple
- after a couple of them have close calls of falling, gothamites realise its bc the buildings are too weak in places to use the hooks safely anymore
- in starts in one neighborhood but quickly spreads throughout gotham; people get into the habit of checking their roofs for chips and cracks and start painting them
- different places do it different ways, some people use bright neon colours, an apartment block keeps a tin of glow-in-the-dark paint in the rooftop garden for anyone to use, one children's shelter fills the chips in with glitter glue
- slowly but surely the gotham skyline becomes a starry night with stars of paint and colour, marking the weakpoints so they can be seen even in the darkest of the city's nights
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. We provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
you can read more about their ongoing emergency response here
Responding to this emergency situation, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)’s team on the ground in Gaza are releasing all of our pre-positioned stocks, worth $570,000 USD (approximately £465,000), to ensure hospitals and emergency responders have the supplies they need to cope with an unprecedented influx of casualties. The list of supplies provided by MAP includes essential drugs and disposables, lab reagents and support for Gaza’s blood bank services. Some of these supplies are already being delivered to Al Awda Hospital.
*grabbing young queer people by the shoulders* listen to me. radical feminism is inherently transphobic. you cannot rehabilitate it or reclaim it or make it trans inclusive, I don't care what the people on twitter who claim to be authorities on queerness say. the foundation of radical feminism is nothing but bio and gender essentialism and biphobia and aphobia and anti-kink rhetoric and intersexism and yes, misogyny. it does not offer a future, not for bi people, aroace people, sex workers, not for kinksters, or intersex people, cis women, or trans people regardless of gender and you should care about those people. it will never result in queer liberation because it is an ideology of exclusion and hatred. you gain nothing by buying into the idea that half the population is evil by birth or by transition. you gain nothing by acting like women are perpetual victims who can't think for themselves and are tainted by their association with men. being a man or being attracted to them is not a sin. if we truly want to stand a chance of dismantling the patriarchy we actually NEED men on our side especially marginalized men. they are our allies.
the problem with terfs is not just transphobia, it never was, the radical feminism is also so unbelievably harmful. you cannot save it and it will not save you, stop drawing lines between queer people and join hands with them instead. remove people who are actually harmful, not innocent people who happen to have the wrong sexuality or gender or job. we get there together or we don't get there at all. we need each other now more than ever. do not listen to those who seek to divide us even if they are queer. we all deserve so much better than the hell radical feminism pretends is a liberated future.
I do not blame anyone who fell prey to this rhetoric, I know it feels good to have a common enemy and lash out at those you think are siding with them however they do it, but men, especially marginalized men, are not your enemies. and it's never too late to realize that and change for the better.
I used to be a musician. A pretty good one, too. I had a record deal, I toured all over the country, and I had a few songs that made it onto the radio. But then, things changed. My record label dropped me, my band broke up, and I faded into obscurity.
It's been a few years now since I've released any new music, and I'm starting to feel like a forgotten musician. No one knows my name. No one cares about my music. It's like I never existed.
But I did exist. And I made music. And that music is still out there somewhere.
The problem is, most of my back catalogue is unavailable. My record label went bankrupt a few years ago, and all of my masters were lost. So, if you want to hear my music, you have to track down old physical copies of my albums or singles. And even those are hard to find.
Which is why I consider myself to be borderline lost media. My music is still out there, but it's buried deep in the obscurity. And if no one seeks it out, it will eventually disappear forever.
I know that I'm not the only forgotten musician out there. There are countless other artists whose music has been lost or forgotten. And that's a tragedy.
Because music is important. It's a part of our culture. It's a way to express ourselves and to connect with others. And it's something that should be preserved for future generations.
So, if you're a fan of lost media, or if you're just curious to hear some music from a forgotten musician, I encourage you to seek out my music. You may be surprised at what you find.
And if you do find my music, please share it with others. Help to keep it alive. Help to prevent it from disappearing forever.
Thank you.
Barnaby J. Tremayne.
