The only acceptable trans Tim headcanon would be Tim introducing himself to the batfam as a boy from the get-go with such confidence that no one questions him. Then, his first solo case as Robin is investigating the disappearance of Jack and Janet Drake's "daughter," so he pretends to have a twin sister by forging a bunch of documents and photoshopping family pictures. He then fabricates evidence of her death, committing multiple crimes in the process, and holds a fake funeral at the end. Because if his previous name is dead to him, he's gonna kill it the Tim Drake way
i wanted to draw batman's fresh as fuck look, but robin totally stole the show.
this post is about him now
OK ITS BEEN LIKE FIVE MINUTES BUT. The guilt Bruce would feel and then ignore? Yeah, the never telling Tim he's proud of him? The lack of any communication because he couldn't keep a kid from taking up the mantle of a haunting mistake, and now is torn between constant mourning and the pride of his newest soldier learning? GODS. Ok I'm done.
What if Jason attacked Tim, not because he was jealous, not to send a message to Bruce, not because he felt like he was being replaced, but because he was horrified to see another kid in the suit? What if it was a warning, letting him know that this? This pain, this threat to his very being, this risk of death? That was all that was out there for him in this life, so go back to your cushy life and leave it alone before you get killed. (The "like I did" is left unsaid)
What if the reason Bruce pushed so hard against Tim at first was for the same reason? The fear of repeating his biggest mistake, the horror he felt as a child actively asked to be put in the suit because nothing but tragedy came to the boys before him.
I dunno, just feels a little fucked up and awful to me.
*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 2*
OOH THE BAD KIDS ARE GOING THRU IT. TRACKERBEES BREAKUP. FIG AND KRISTEN CLOSE TO BEING EXPELLED. RIZ AND ADAINE FINANCIAL STRUGGLES. FABIAN ALL ALONE IN SEACASTER MANOR. AYDA IS GONE FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR. FIG HAS TO WRITE AN ENTIRE ASS ABLUM. HANGVAN NEEDING INTENSE RENOVATION AFTER BEING DEALT SO MIUCH DAMAGE. AELWYN AND ADAINE JUST START TO HEAL THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND THEN AELWYN MOVES OUT. GORGUG AND ZELDA BREAKUP. THE PURE FUCKING BURNOUT EVERYONE IS FACING.
NOT TO MENTION FIG AND GILEAR SWITCHING LUCK (i have theories brewing about this btw).
WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK BABY.
If you're not making your Christian parents vaguely uncomfortable with your characterization of god in your poetry, are you even doing it right??
In love with this random guy who had a lock slapped on his storage unit for not paying its rental and not only did he ignore management and took his stuff out without paying, but also chose to steal the lock itself and send it to the LockPickingLawyer along with a confession letter
riz gukgak is the character of all time. he's a goblin. he has a gun. he's in high school. he's saved the world multiple times. he's died before. he carries a briefcase with him everywhere. he threatened to eat a dragon. he refuses to stop investigating mysteries because otherwise he would have to deal with his grief over his dad's death. he did fantasy cocaine in a floating pirate city. he lied about having a romance partner and then got kidnapped by the manifestation of that lie. he tattooed clues all over his body in case his memory got wiped. he doesn't know how to connect with his friends outside of life-threatening situations. he has abandonment issues. his dead dad is a secret agent for heaven. he's canonically hot. he throws up when he's nervous. his nickname is the ball. he loves his mom. he hisses at things. he ran over a guy with his friend's van. he brought back an eldritch entity because he can't let a mystery go. he's even aroace.
The fact that Riz Gukgak (the boy who doesn't know how to take a break, who is deeply afraid of drifting apart from his friends, who "has a hard time connecting to his dearest friends unless he can feel useful") was the one who manifested a creature that forced The Bad Kids to work together again and robbed them of having a proper summer break is so poetic.
give me a batman comic where their trauma actually affects them.
bruce gets to be affected by trauma. his parents haunting his narrative and him making it everyone’s problem. his decline after jason died. his hatred of guns. damian does, too. his hallucinations of alfred. the inner turmoil he goes through almost everytime he sees talia.
but it’s literally only them except for a select few comics. with everyone else, everything is forgotten when the next run starts.
give me a dick grayson who is so terrified of loss from losing so many people that he worries himself sick everytime any of his siblings don’t answer a phone call.
give me a jason todd who can’t stand to be in small spaces due to waking up in a coffin and digging himself out of his own grave.
give me a stephanie brown who still thinks about her child everytime she sees a baby.
give me a tim drake who has to force himself not to flinch everytime there’s an explosion because of how many people he killed in the league of assassin bombings.
give me a cassandra cain that reverts back to silence when she gets hit with fear gas.
give me a duke thomas that spends every spare second he has researching potential cures for his parents.
like?? give me a comic where they’re human.
Sometimes you just go really little and wish that someone would give you a bubble bath and wash your hair for you and dry you off, and then you could have some warm tea and brush your teeth and go to bed while they sing a lullaby and give you your stuffies to snuggle with. And maybe you get a little kiss on the forehead and get told you're a good pup and everything is OK in the world
