I was taking a break from another drawing and decided to draw Caim in a looser, more casual style of mine! Along with a wedgie of funkier colors! Heh... Funkaim...
Awhile back, I made this Leonard Mii. Even though I was quite proud to have made him, I wasn't entirely confident; asking myself, is this REALLY him? When I saw him strike this pose, I froze tf up, and the Sleonard pose pinged in my mind. Safe to say, any doubt I had fizzled away in that instance. This is HIM
Once again, I find myself imbued with the artsy fartsy powers called "coming up with a character on the fly with no prior thought or planning"
Okay so quick lore, unfortunately not character-wise, they are just a design (for now)! I was listening to some Pop'n Music music, and there was this one really striking dude in a thumbnail. I did not actually click on the video, but rather went to FireAlpaca to sketch a design vaguely inspired by this wonderful man. The mask had reminded me a bit of Yamask, so I rolled with that! After I finished this piece 2 days later, I tried to re-look for that video, but had no luck. So I just went to the Wikipedia, and it did not disappoint! The whimsical fairy is Diamante! https://popnmusic.fandom.com/wiki/Diamante
Every day I had work, before I went to sleep I drew Leonard from memory on Pokemon Art Academy while in bed. To get used to drawing him and everything. I think they turned out alright all things considered! Day 1: I was making a sketch of him on the puter, with the ref and all, so the muscle memory was strong with this one. However, I didn't sketch out the clothes yet, so that was not in my mind at all. And I kinda had his body sketched up, so I was like "Ah fuck it, I'll just leave him as is" and slapped on a sparce amount of body hair. In hindsight, I should have added more, but truth be told, it's something I gotta practice drawing more. Will he be the catalyst? Only time shall tell! Day 2: The same puter sketch I was working on prior, I had sketched out his clothes. So I could do those well enough, I think! I also was feeling a little silly and made him :3 Day 3: It got sillier. I also tried drawing his pact symbol. Kinda did doodoo on that, but I can say I tried! I also wanted to draw a fullbody version of him, but alas, I had to work with my limitations. And I made the little scrimbly himbly version of him with the cutesy LoV cheerleader ponytail.
Day 4: I decided to spice it up and go full LoV Leonard. Bros not happy about being an insect centaur! I remember that night I like give a wide eyed stare at the LoV Leonard, hoping it'd burn into my retinas or something. But alas, my ass only remembered the earring, and the slightly "tougher" features this Leonard has. Like the somewhat different nose and chin. All in all, a freaky ass insect centaur abomination (lovely creature) is a hype as hell idea. And I think that built in carapace child prison thing he's got going on is really cool too. I've never really seen either concept explored before. Or at least not in a way as memorable as this!
A certain vibe hit my mind. Though I wasn't able to translate it the way I wanted, I am still quite proud of how it turned out! I usually don't draw so loose like this, but I always have quite the ball when I do!
This is like schrodinger's context, except instead of both states being a stark contrast to one another, it's a really lukewarm indifference. I don't think any of this made sense, but that's the charm to it
So I have a Pokemon OC named Ginzlar who's a Gimmighoul. And I made a human version of him. I could stop there, but I just wanna let you know the concept for this has been stewing in my head for at least 2 years. Sometimes I'd do a doodle or two, but never added any color. I always imagined his colors in my head though. My ass was just to lazy to actually do the colors. I still was kinda lazy with this drawing, but stylistically lazy. And I am proud of the results!
Just wanna let you guys know, this is what I see every time I boot up my PS2 emulator
Might as well throw her into the mix as well! This is a design I made with the very loose plan of having a character with a simple, but unique head shape. And I'd say I succeeded on that! I believe this is also when I started testing out monochromatic filters on my designs, just to double make sure the colors popped out well against one another. Which went nicely enough as well!
Y'all ever just draw some random shit, add some color, and be like "yup, here's the thing"?
Golly gee, I really do love Drakengard. Everything about it, really! Especially Leonard, as I bet you can tell hehehe. So expect a lot of that! But there's a plethora of games I gleefully rot over, so there might be a dash of variety. Along with some of my silly characters too!If you ever wanna talk the talk, my Discord is "ghetsispikachu"!That is where I am most active! I guarantee you I will not be weirded out or offended by anything you do. I can't be a hater like that.
