“May contain disturbing themes” don’t worry I’ve sat through the nbc Hannibal weird dream sequence-esque foursome scene. Nothing scares me.
oh my god this is years late but everyones perception of kerblam is literally wrong??? when the doctor said the "system" wasn't wrong, she meant automation? not the company? like the concept of automation isn't inherently wrong (there is a good point for making dangerous and menial tasks automated) and it wasn't trying to hurt people. And when she said the people exploiting the system were wrong she meant people exploiting automation (including charlie, who was using it to kill people so the system would take the fall. the doctor even points out he isnt an acitivst, he's just killing people). the metaphor is a bit fumbly. but it was never pro company/amazon?? the episode ends with a focus on the company being people led. man, i dont think ill ever not get annoyed with the way people bring this episode up to make series 11 look bad.
I don’t know how many of you listened to the new doctor who short story from big finish (war stories, the Paul spragg 2024 winner) but I was driving while listening to it and there’s a part where bill potts sees the 9th doctor and says he looks like a lesbian she had a crush on, and I laughed so hard I almost crashed.
god bless the ao3 users with public bookmarks who have the same taste as you and who read/bookmark often. love getting lost in someone's bountiful bookmarks for days, you're rly doing a public service
relistening to some of the earlier Big Finish stories is so so important for the reminder that a lot of dr who is actually bad and it’s an absolutely necessary part of the dr who ecosystem. imagine if every story were a scherzo or the natural history of fear or jubilee. dr who is healthiest when it’s mostly shitty and then they hit you with one of the most incredible insane things you’ve ever encountered. and right after that it’s bad again
2014: neil gaiman is #1 women respecter! we love neil!! he’s so progressive :3 steven moffat is the WORST misogynist tv writer ever he is soooo sexist he CANNOT write a woman. he’s so evil. i bet he’s secretly a conservative. i bet he wrote that “tight skirt” line in a nightmare in silver
2024: steven moffat has banged out a 4-part drama that examines the complicity of men in the media industry which normalises sexual abuse of their female colleagues, under the guise of a “comedy” about “cancel culture”. his latest doctor who episode was a scathing attack on the military-industrial complex under capitalism. Neil Gaiman is a confirmed abusive predator and zionist
I see a lot of ‘cis’ women say they wish they were androgynous in the way men were or they wish they were pretty in the way men were. This is your sign to go try to do that. You may find you enjoy being an androgynous woman. You may find you no longer identify as a woman. You may find you don’t like androgyny. You will not know until you try. Cut your hair if you’ve always wanted to but have been afraid to. Shop in the men’s section if you’ve been too nervous to. Wear clothing with an androgynous silhouette. Experiment with binding, take baby steps with compression bras if you want. Wear unisex scents. Live life. Try things you want to try. A lot of cis women do not understand the joys of mens pants and mens deodorant. I think everyone should try both of those things.
Ruby: “Will I ever see you again doctor”
Well great news Ruby we still have to figure out what the fuck is going on with your neighbor so I imagine he’ll be around
when i decide im not going
the reveal about ruby’s mother actually makes perfect sense when you think about it. why else would someone name their baby by pointing at a random sign in the middle of the night and dress in wizard robes while leaving said baby behind on a doorstep in a church if they weren’t a teenager whacked out of their mind on pain medications
companion: it’s ghosts. this time it must be ghosts. there’s ghosts right here can you see the ghost
the most haunted creature in the universe who leads a haunted life in their haunted vehicle and is themselves comprised of hauntings: don’t be silly there’s no such thing as ghosts
